    Hi Dr. Joe, did you put a 2in receiver on the front of any atvs / sxs in order to plug and play this winch system? I may try to implement a similar system on my atv. It already has a 2in receiver hitch on the back. I may try to come up with a 2in receiver plate to go on the front of the atv. .and have a quick .connect at the front and the back of the atv. If i need to winch forward, great! If I need to winch back, great as well!

      Hey buddy, thank you for your question. Yes I have a front receiver in all of my ATV and UT vehicles. It’s hugely helpful because putting a ball in the front of your vehicle allows you to hook things up with Direct vision and it’s really helped me move around my log splitter and other things. I hope you found this useful. Consider subscribing. Thanks. Joe.

    It’s not flared…it is CS counter sink bolt……lock washer on flat washer this type of split washer is not effective proved by many test. An Areo nut is more effective and correct bolt length will make the installation of said nut easy.😊 Steve

      Yes, you make a good point. The synthetic rope is way better. I have it on most of my winches very strong and safe. Consider subscribing. Thanks. Joe.

      Extreme max products. That is the company that makes the mount. I think I bought it on Amazon or some other source online. Just search for extreme max products and you will find it. Thank you for your nice comment.

      I purchased it I believe on Amazon from extreme max products it is not a harbor freight mount.

      @@JosephHunstad it's been about a year, how is the winch mount holding up ? It might be powder coated.

      @@DavidGuns Good to hear from you again. I have use the Winchester number of occasions. I store my RZR in a steel building so it’s not exposed to the elements so basically it looks as good as new.

      Method 1 of 3:
      When used correctly, a lock washer will hold the nut or other threaded fastener in place. To help it accomplish this, put the lock washer on first, below the fastener. If your project calls for other washers or hardware elements, they should go on before the lock washer so that it can hold them in place.

    You may have some interference between the cable and the winch mounting bolt on the fairlead side when winching.

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Chip, thank you very much for your comment. I understand your concern, but the cable comes off the top of the reel and is quite a ways away from that bolt plus the windings make the diameter of the reel, even when fully wound up, to have quite a bit of clearance. Thanks for your comment. No I did not show that but I do have a video on simplifying winch mounting on an ATV that you might wish to check out. It’s very clearly laid out there. Consider of driving. Thanks. Joe.

    never ever lay a spring washer onto a flat washer. It doesn't make any sense. A spring washer wants to log the position between a bolt and base. If You put a flat washer between, You have no lock betweeen the flat washer and the base. I drove a Yamaha SR 500 . She was throwing bolts on every ride, before I connected spring washers correctly on every bolt she lost.

      Yep the flat washer is for under the head of the bolt. There's still a lot of procedure's that call for lock on top of flat, there wrong. NASA did a study on it and they concluded flat washer on bolt head side, split washer only on nut side.

    How did you power this winch once it was installed?

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad  ปีที่แล้ว

      I powered this up using quick connect. I also did a video on TH-cam: Winch Quick Connect Install and Wire up RZR w Dr Joe
      In that video you can find step-by-step instructions how to do it. I didn't have a big wire crimper to crimp the terminals at that time now I do I recommend getting one of those instead of soldering it but soldering works fine as I did in the video.
