I used to be in a tech death band and we opened for them and as I was setting up my drums and doing sound check and Spencer (the drummer) was pacing back and forth in front of the stage to see what I got. After our set he came up and shook my hand. Small victory but that was the proudest I've ever been as a musician.
oh man, it's great to hear that he's cool guy, when he's ia band that has gotten as much praise as that. Makes me appreciate it more when they still pay recepct to other bands opening for them. What was the band you were playing for, if you want to say it (and what band are you playing for now, if any)?
Drummer is Spencer Prewett. One of my old bands opened for them a few times back in 2014, before they took off. They have really strict criteria for being in their band and it's why they are all such high calibre players.
They really do back it up live, it’s totally insane to hear how precisely they recreate the recorded versions of the songs on stage. Jared’s bass solo from Abandon the Linear absolutely melted every brain cell in my skull when I saw them play at the canal club in Richmond!
I honestly stopped referring to myself as just a black metal head almost a decade ago, there is too much good music out there to limit yourself to just one slice of metal music. Plus you know the name kinda makes the idea of being exclusive to black metal problematic.
@@cpfantastic5576 By connotation that’s what it can mean that you strictly listen to only Black Metal and that’s what your taste consists of, of course nothing wrong with that. So I disagree with a portion of your statement especially with calling him dumb practically because again that’s what the connotation would be is that you predominantly listen to only black metal. Just to say: this is by far my favorite video that you’ve ever put out. Absolutely exquisite I think I’ve watched it six times already though they may also be because I’m high
As one that requested Archspire (and yes it is pronounced Arch spire,) I appreciate it. The funniest thing is that isn't even their fastest track on this record. They are all insane which anyone can hear but it is difficult to tell the true talent of the vocalist unless you watch one of the lyric videos.
So glad to finally be seeing Archspire doing the rounds on reaction channels. Tried to get so many to react to them before bleed the future was even announced but never happened
It's really cool to see these guys blowing up online etc, and getting recognized globally. Very cool. 😎 I lived in Vancouver / Vancouver Island for 16+ years, same place where Arch-spire is from. Good bunch of guys. We hung out, and saw lots of metal shows in Vancouver throughout the years. Very talented guys. Lots of respect to them, even though I don't like their music.. Good video as usual Boris. 😎 Cheers! 🏴☠️🤘
Been living in the greater Vancouver area my whole life, got into Archspire in early 2018 and have been super involved in the local metal scene. We have a crazy amounts of bands and shows every week here.
If you like blast beats, as you do, I would recommend listening Bleed the Future by Archspire, it's their best song in my opinion and also Violation from Fleshgod Apocalypse, it's also death metal but I think you would like it, their genre is symphonic death metal
This guy isn't some noob to metal music, I'm sure he knows about Fleshgod Apocalypse. Archspire is however a newer band and I only heard about them a few months ago.
This is the react I've been waiting for! 6:05 that's the same question I've wondered about this band since I first got big into them. Truly out of this world.
I met the drummer when he was in a band called, “Grimory”. Him and the guitarist use to play in an old apartment that was rented by them and another band. The whole places stunk of oil because of the industrial district it was in.
3:20 - that's why Archspire is one of the few super technical metal bands I listen to, it's so fast and so extreme BUT you can groove to it, it's propulsive rather than dragging and it sounds human
Boris, your facial expression is priceless 🤣 I've been aware of Archspire for some time now, haven't really followed them but you're right, they're not human!
I had the pleasure of meeting those guys. Wicked cool and extremely talented! He hits the 320-350 with ease! Oliver the singer is a really funny guy. Just found your channel good stuff I like it
Boris, your videos are my favorite! I love your commentary and I think you are hilarious. I watch a lot of them over and over and laugh at your reactions. Keep it up! Much love brother!
You should check out Paleface- A Beatdown band with breakdowns so you could classify it as deathcore. With their Guitarist having Thrash Riff Influences. A lot of changing tempos within the songs sometimes like for example Orphan and Curse Us. The former being their newest song off their new album.
You should definitely check Spencer Prewett (drummer) "Lucid Collective Somnambulation" drum playthrough. Trust me, you'll love it. And yeah, they are tech as fuck; stay tech! lml
I had never even heard of Archspire until that video showed up in my suggestions earlier this year.. thank you TH-cam.. im just gonna go ahead and convince myself that monitoring what I watch on here is just fine 🤔
Arvas has a drummer that plays somewhat like that. The first track on their latest album starts of with that kind of drumming-technique. (Not going to bomb someone elses video with links, but easy to find). Problem is that reviewers often thinks that it is drum-machine or programed drums, because they can't comprehend that someone can play that fast.
You should react to the Band Weltenbrand - Das Vergessen! They play a very unique way of Blackened Deathmetal/Core. It would be cool if you check them out 🤘
Aren't they? I got to see them in 2012 in a 150 person capacity dive bar as part of Noctis 5 Metalfest. Three night festival with two shows in the bar and one at the university... they were by far the best band and at that point had only released All Shall Align.
@@shanesherwood2364 that sounds so sick. all the guys in the band work so well together live and the jokes that Oli Peters makes on stage really give it that memorable experience. i saw them for the tech trek five tour a couple weeks ago with Vulvodynia, Inferi and Entheos opening up. best show of my life
Not sure if it's been requested before, but I would love to see your reaction to either the song Swamps of Sadness by Australian brutal Horrorcore artist MC Bushpig or Clinical Sodomy by MC Bushpig's other project Butchers Harem

I assumed this band was overhyped, but they make some super catchy and technical music. Back it up live and super nice as well.

just the best tech death band out there right now
