Back in the day there was no faking it. You had talent or you didn't, plain and simple. You had to throw down, play it, sing it, dance & sing, do your thing. Gold 💛 True Stars 🌟👊💫
These lovely ladies singing have me remembering how much more wholesome and laid back the vibe was back then. Love the song and the "hot pants" when they were in fashion!
Experience in love preferred, but will accept a young trainee....LOVE this old jam. My older sister played this on her 45 record player every day. Had me singing with her. Of course I was around 4 or 5 years old and only joined in the song with my fabulous "Extra! Extra! Read all about it". You couldn't tell me I wasn't a baby honeycone as my sister called me Lol! bridget cafarella ‘60 here . I haven’t heard this in a LOOONNNG time, but I still remembered quite a bit of the the words. And the Clean Up Woman! I remembered that for years! And is now on my iPod lol. That, in my opinion is is the greatest thing about these newfangled gadgets. Man, we can get some great tunes on them, can’t we? And still for the price of a 45👍.
I miss black women with our natural healthy shapes. Instead of the false narrative that we all are, "super thick' and fat, with queen ant shapes. Sigh..
I love how they are natural but still have on make up and are dancing and expressing emotions yet are classy and sexy and strong yet feminine. It was a great time to be part of the ADOS COMMUNITY. Everyone seem to understand the struggle and not out for quote "number one" ie their own selfish personal gain. There was a pride in being an "everyday people" Like the song by Sly and the family stone Sang. However there were also forces in play that would undermine all those COMMUNITY values mainly greed lack of education and all types of covert actions by the government to infiltrate and and undermine many of the community groups like the black panthers and the SCLC THE URBAN LEAGUE AND THE GENERAL TARGETING OF ADOS COMMUNITY WITH THE INFILTRATION OF DRUGS AND GANG VIOLENCE
They still had on wigs and make up like they do today. My sister had that long fall hair piece that Shelly Clark had I remember she got in a fight and some one pulled that fall hair piece out and her friend picked it up as she finished kicking the shit out of that girl! that was the early 70s, lol
As much as I love what The Avalanches did with it, the original is IMMACULATE! The type of groove where you feel your soul smiling while listening to it!
I remember this. I was only 10 yrs old then, but the radio was such a big part of life with only 3 TV stations and a radio in the car and home. I listened to any and everything. This singer has a great and very unique voice.

I remember dancing to this song when I was a child. Today’s music can’t touch the raw talent of the 70s. Real talent will never go out of style.
Can't believe that is 1971, sound so fresh, way ahead of their time
It was #1 too. I'm getting Jay Z / Kanye vibes in the beats with the Chipmunk Soul vibes
Sounds a lot like a Jackson 5 track.
