      Dat Bike - because I'm a tall guy and I find scooters feel sketchier to me because I can't hang on with my knees

    As much as I love riding combustion engine bikes, this is the future if we want to survive, so we have to get used to it. Plus, who doesn't like instant torque!?!!

    Those bikes are awesome, and it's great for Vietnam that they're making them there.

    I'd love to try the Dat Bike. It looks like it'd make a fun scrambler if you threw some knobbies on it.
    It could be faster, it could have longer range, but for the price it looks like really good value.
    Personally, I do my own maintenance (I just replaced the spark plugs, oil change and did a valve cleaning on my FZ6 today) so I'd be happy to try it even with not much warranty support.
    And I agree though, as much as I love the feel and sound and smell of ICE motorcycles.... Electric is the future.

    Great video! I like both bikes but Dat bike seemed cooler and the fact that it's cheaper wins for me.
    I also want to say that all your travel videos are quite interesting and I don't understand why they are less popular(like you said in the latest live cast).

    I could imagine the crossovers with channels now, such as Transport Evolved or FullyChargedShow, their bread and butter would be affordable electric transportation outside of the west.

  • @gotoastal

    So quiet. I wish Thailand would level up their electric bike game so I could switch from gasoline. The ones they do, which have been popping up, are so tiny and only meant for small intercity commutes. Even if I could easily buy a larger, more comfortable one, there would be nowhere to charge them either.

    These bikes look awesome! I love the aesthetic of Dat Bike, and the seat of the VinFast bike looks super comfy for things like small grocery trips! Is there a way we can help get them available worldwide? Thank you for this new travel video, I've been enjoying your playlist! I'm glad EJ made it home safely 😊

    Pretty cool, a similar scooter in the US would be like $5000-8000. Now all it needs is a roof, a stereo, and an air conditioner, and it will be usable whenever the temperature gets over 291.4K.

    Great video. Here in Hanoi, I am looking for a good VinFast bike but the Klara S is too small for me. Waiting for a jumbo sized Vinfast bike. Hopefully they will develop one soon.

    i remember i wasnt a fan of motorbikes, having grown up around exclusively harley davidson motorcycles and nothing else, i thought they were all loud and obnoxious and gave me sensory issues being too close. since my boyfriend told me there were electric bikes that were nearly totally quiet, i've really wanted to try riding one!!!

    That city should have proper motorcycle-oriented infrastructure, more over cars. It could make the transportation easier, safer, faster, more silent and less stressing.

  • @Hotrob_J

    Are the batteries on the dat bike lithium? In Canada we can only get electric bikes with lead acid batteries for that kind of money, and they're limited to about 40 km/h.
    Edit: to clarify, the bikes are limited to 40 regardless of the battery type. Lead acid batteries are undesirable due to being super heavy (from the lead) and they get very damaged by deep discharge (so if you run it until its dry it could very well kill the battery or severely damage its endurance)

  • @jonc4403
    @jonc4403 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    So, as an American who rides a German bike, they're not ready yet. Hopefully soon, because I'd LOVE to have an electric bike. But I need something with at least a 200 mile range, fast DC charging, a bike that can do a 600+ mile day. I want a top speed of 140 or better, a sub-4 second 0-60 mph, essentially something that can match the performance of my 1993 BMW R1100RS.
    I think it can be done, and I want to be done with gasoline.

    • @Lunaoi
      @Lunaoi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fortunately, in most major cities like Hanoi, Beijing, Ho Chi Minh City, etc., where we have millions of motorbikes - the vast majority of motorbikes in the world - we don't need to meet anywhere near those requirements. 😁

    The recently defeated far right Christian Govt in Australia are the same political party that organised the illegal invasion of Viet Nam years ago.
    They were resoundingly defeated by the magnificent Vietnamese & have never gotten over it.
    After closing down all vehicle manufacturing in Australia & throwing nearly 100,000 Aussies onto the scrap heap (they were all loyal Union members & the Christian party have always hated Unions) we were left with the General Motors mega complex with even a testing track like a mini race track & with factories galore too.
    Vinfast moved into the biggest of the 3 abandoned vehicle manufacturers grounds & seemed to be very happy there.
    Then suddenly they left, moved to the USA & took over 6000, high paying Union jobs into the USA.
    Something is fishy up at The Entrance with this & to squander the 6000 jobs Australia so desperately needed stinks.
    This must've had something to do with the long term very, very poor & even hostile relationship the Pedocostal Pasta's, far right Christian Govt has with Viet Nam.
    The Pedocostal Party & the Royal Australian Invasion Mob are 1 in the same & that the Vietnamese people won't cop any shit from these quislings is fair enough.
    This was the same Cowardly quislings who supported the monstrous American embargo against Viet Nam.
    Even more recently the Aussie military spies were caught spying in Viet Nam by the Vietnamese intelligence people & went all sooky la, la & said "the Americans made us do it" which was a lie but only goes to show how anti Vietnamese this Christian mob is.
    Our Labor Party has just been swept back into power so our future as a true friend of Viet Nam is again reassured.

    how quickly is Vietnam adopting or EV swapping old bikes?
    Norway adopted electric cars very fast, but they are worse for the environment and traffic than electric bikes. Vietnam is bit less developed than Norway, people can't justify buying a new bike or EV swapping their current one if their petrol one works fine

    Datbike is a homonym to That Bike, it has nothing relevant to Mr Đạt or someone like that. So....

    Electric vehicles have the same problem for me as new cars. Their quietness is scares for the pedestrians. You're walking in the streets and there are vehicles speeding near you without making a sound, preventing you from being aware of their proximity.
    Combustion vehicles annoy me with the noise and gases, but electric scares me because of this.
    Edit: also, does it need to be "motorbikes"? Just for light and personal movement around cities wouldn't electric bicycles be better/cheaper? I know there are some channels that cover the latest launches in electric bicycles and they seem good enough (and their smaller less dangerous batteries would be safer? but this would cause a lot of lost jobs...).

    • @Lunaoi
      @Lunaoi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      In Vietnam we have a honking culture, we honk our horns all the time to let each other know where we are on the road. Our roads are very noisy so this is necessary with gas and electric vehicles.
      Motorbikes have larger batteries, can carry more, and can go faster. Both electric bicycles and electric motorbikes are becoming very popular in Vietnam.

      They could be wearing them to protect against particulates pollution. They're riding on streets with hordes of motorcycles, which usually have dirtier (in terms of pollution) engines than cars.
