Great talk There are some good tips for learning story telling. They are change, cause and effect, moral outrage, eudaemonic, and the god moment. With those you can be a fantastic storry teller.
I thought there was so much helpful information in this video! I'm not sure why there are so many negative comments but I will definitely use these tips in my writing going forward.
Because of ones temporalobepilepsy I experience several seconds a day/night, but you must understand I have had this (20 second of flashing/stimulating the temporal lobe) take place ever since I can remember speaking in the English language. As an infant I couldn’t even notice it. It’s the cliché 1000-yard stare. I take noting for the actual flash although I have read some ‘Doctors?’ have a way of silencing or curing this significant source of turning off my conscious and linguistically takes in information that has not only convinced me that it’s a form of ‘tapping-down-the-streams-of-our unconscious’s’. These flashes have open up-I also speak in tongues of an addicted Hypergraphicalist! On any type receipts, envelopes, standard-typing-paper, napkins, scraps, post-it-notes
The absolute absurdity of a cold dead universe at the end of a good talk with a tragic ending if you buy it. His proposed end to our story. To say everything ends in nothing is to say, everything came from nothing. Being that there is evidently something, there could never be nothing.
That's what I heard too. But it's eudaemonic happiness, and I'm not sure how exactly it differs from regular happiness . . . I think, maybe, there's an element of self-fulfillment involved.
Some great tips bit, as a traditional oral storyteller is advise you to stay still! It was exhausting watching you wander around the stage. Plant your feet, control your movements, play the pauses and relax, only then can you think about these tips.
An excellent example for how NOT to tell a story... Boring to death, rich with misleading gestures, intonation and pompous wording resulting an a rather empty dramatic hyperbole advocation for something you are not anymore sure was the topic of the lecture.

Stories are not told neither in the first sentence nor in the last. A story is told somewhere in between. The first sentence is a myth.
