Moa wasn't playing live on-stage but she did play on the backing track. When they leave the stage, Su said, though they were not holding hands, they were holding heart-to-heart. The bond and mutual respect for each other and their interplay during the song makes a powerful emotional statement. Especially, since this is Moa's 20th birthday. I 100% agree Darkly. It is one of 3 songs that I tear up for whenever I hear from BM. No Rain, No Rainbow, and Akatsuki Unfinished being the other 2. Shine is also my favorite song by BM so far. Such an amazing band.

excellent content GMoon-Metal, Legend M was all OG kami band so Aoyama was on drums, now for some must see moments, the "Akatsuki" and "Starlight" debut from Dark Night Carnival is very cool, oh and if you want to see and hear Barone on the drums with the trilogy, he was at LMG and the Forum in LA, also Legend M is a pretty special show in it's entirety and so was "The Sun Also Rises" which was supposed to be Yui's 20th birthday shows so they changed up the lore a bit and made Su the Sun instead, where we got the birth of the Avengers, the live debuts of "Arkadia", PaPaYA, Shanti Shanti Shanti etc.. and you really haven't seen the 2018 version of darkside BABYMETAL with the warrior outfits and Muscle Metal Ladies, so yeah, there is plenty more to see before the new album drops, not to mention if you are interested in the "LORE", I think most fans don't care about the LORE, because it's very far-fetched and confusing, but I love it. the simple fact that they have kept and maintained a LORE for all this time is amazing, when real life hits you hard Koba wrote it into the LORE.
@@Hgoenge81 I can't remember how his name is spelled, but it's something like "Shuntaro" or something similar, I think that was the only time he played with them.
Thanks for the info! I for one believe the LORE is a HUGE part of what makes BabyMetal special! Yes, their music is amazing, yes the girls are amazing, but the fact that there is this defined background for their entire existence, and that it keeps going and growing through the years, is a HUGE part of the whole entertainment package they provide us!
@@Marty-Metal yeah, I think so as well. He did a great job, but tbh the first time I saw "Dark Carnival", I did think to Myself; "🤔hmmm, I think Hideki has been bulking up a bit" 😂😂
@@GlassMoonGaming completely agreed. There are actually a couple of videos on TH-cam, where the creator chronologically goes through the lore from the first concert onwards
I don't think Moa was miming the guitar. She does play the guitar and I have read that Su asked Moa to do this opening. The moment she steps up to the guitar the crowd roared!
I'm almost certain that she was miming because the guitar in the audio was being played with a pick and and she was strumming with her fingers, which sounds different. That said, she was playing the actual song even if it wasn't in the audio.
That's my take as well. While "miming" may not be the right term exactly, the audio you hear isn't the same as the strums. Someone who knows guitar chords can probably confirm if the finger placements are right though. I know she plays guitar.
The lyrics are beautiful, particularly for Shine and Arkadia, there are several lines that hit me in the feels. I'm very glad they made this trilogy, it carries a deep and emotional message. I especially loved the ending of the concert, the synergy between Su and Moa is great!
BABYMETAL 'The Trilogy of Lights' (STARLIGHT - SHINE - ARKADIA) (From third studio album “METAL GALAXY” (October 11, 2019). STARLIGHT Lyrics by METAL SAINTS Music Composed by MEGMETAL(MEG) and METAL SKYWALKER Arranged by MEG METAL(MEG) SHINE Lyrics by Kitsune of METAL GOD Music Composed by TAKEMETAL, Arranged by Tatsuo METAL ARKADIA Lyrics by NORiMETAL (Norikazu Nakayama/Norizo), Music Composed by NORiMETAL (Norikazu Nakayama/Norizo), Arranged by KyotoMETAL(KYOUTOU) Produced by KOBAMETAL( Kei Kobayashi)
What a fantastic trilogy! And it's so essentially BABYMETAL - the totally different Metal subgenres, the amazing vocals, the dancing, the stage setup, the emotion, the crowd participation, the lyrics... every single facet is perfect, and in its entirety it's unmatched. Many fans probably think of Mikio when hearing this, and while it's sad, of course, that makes it even better. The development of different emotions one is going through over the course of the three songs is incredible.
That was excellent, thanks for doing the Trilogy all together, it was really special. I'm sure you have been told all of this before, but I think it merits being repeated. As a trilogy the three songs represent the stages of mourning we go through after suffering a huge loss. 'Starlight' is about the initial shock, grief and anger, 'Shine' is about coming to terms with and accepting the loss, 'Arkadia' is about moving on, never forgetting, but looking to better things yet to come, looking to the future. It has never been confirmed officially by anybody associated with the band and it is only one of the many fan theories, but it is hard to believe there is no substance in the belief that the Trilogy is a tribute to Kami Band guitarist Mikio Fujioka who died after falling from an observation deck where he had been stargazing. 'Starlight' was also released on the same day that Yui announced she was leaving, so maybe it is about her too. The lyrics in the softly sung part of 'Starlight': "Wherever we are we'll be with you. We'll never forget shining starlight. Wherever you are live in my heart. We'll never forget shooting star. Wherever we are we'll be with you. We'll never forget shining starlight. Wherever you are live in my heart. We'll never forget shining star". The Legend M performance of 'Shine' also seems to further confirm the theory with just Su, Moa and the acoustic guitar (possibly one of Mikio's own or a replica of one of his). You were absolutely right about the focus on Moa's dancing - it was so heartfelt and emotional - and in my opinion that was arguably Su-metal's finest vocal performance to date (I have only heard fancam videos from the latest concerts of course). It is possible Moa pre-recorded the acoustic guitar - she has said she was too nervous to play it live on the day .... and at the end as they just turned and left the stage with the guitar still there - for me that has to be symbolic of accepting the loss. 'Arkadia' is the perfect end. It is so uplifting and optimistic and the lyrics "No more tears. No more pain. No more cry." always gets to me. Legend M had the Kami Band of the East with Hideki on drums (Takayoshi's pink glittery guitar and BOH's bass were clearly shown too). The Kami Band of the West only played once in Japan at the Legend Metal Galaxy concerts in 2020 (specifically the finale on day 1 together with the Kami Band of the East and then all of day 2).
Probably my most favorite of Su's singing in that Shine performance. She is angelic. Moa ❤❤. Moa is absolutely elegant and hypnotizing with her dancing. She is truly amazing. 🤘🦊🤘 That was a PERFECT performance.
There is people that thinks the trilogy is dedicated to Mikio, as he was a known stargazer and a big geek about everything about space and weather. Not only that, he died when he fell from an observatory while stargazing. Plus there is the guitar around there and at some point it seems he might have taught Moa a bit. Even during the 10 year concerts at Budokan they went a bit out of their way and played Starlight the concert that was happening on Mikio's birthday. Other people, less, say the trilogy is a good bye to Yui. Yui also loved to watch the stars, the song was released the same day they announced she was leaving officially, and even Su-metal has mentioned that the first time they played it, it made her think about Yui. Now with the perspective of the time that has already passed since Metal Galaxy, I think it is a bit of everything. The trilogy was probably motivated by both the loss of Mikio and the departure of the tomato lady, but in a more abstract way the trilogy is about coming together and illuminate de darkness in times of hardness. Like Monochrome, or other songs, it is a common theme in the Babymetal creations. It is one of my favorite things Babymetal has ever done, really beautiful and emotional journey.
Nice you reached this and hopefully it won't be blocked, the LMG version and Shine - Legend M at BMRR is really nice because you also have the lyrics embedded to understand these special set called officially Trilogy Of Lights to represent the ongoing cycle of birth, death and rebirth, there's no other set of three songs, fans took this unofficially as a tribute to Mikio's departure (R.I.P. kogami) and YuiMetal withdrawal, both sad events in 2018. But i think you did an original reaction since i don't remember any other doing this with all the clips took from BABYMETAL ARISES - BEYOND THE MOON - Legend M 2019 MoaMetal 20th Birthday, Port Messe Nagoya, Moa's birthplace, probably someone already told you but the Kami Band performing here was the East, so no Anthony Barone here (that was at LMG 2020), Hideki Aoyama was the drummer. The avenger in this 2nd day was 14 yo Kano Fujihira (another one coming from Sakura Gakuin background), and the night before was with Riho Sayashi, you can find a fun clip fancam when finishing the show. *STARLIGHT* There's an official MV released the same day YuiMetal announced her official retirement in October 2018, none of the girls feature there, only images related to the Chosen Seven lore and the girls show up at the end a little bit so not really worth a reaction. For me this song fits perfectly dedicated to Mikio-sama and YuiMetal, both. Just like SuMetal said when singing this song reminds her to YuiMetal. Mikio-sama loved stargazing, he actually suffered an accident while watching the stars and falling from an observatory deck before he past away, also YuiMetal loves contemplate the sky, and that's why fans connect this song to them. SuMetal also said she got memories from other moments in her life when traveling around the world, such the clear sky in New Zealand. That's why this set can totally change depending on your state of mind, and you can always come back to experience another feelings. *SHINE* Our princess of Nagoya can play the guitar for sure, but in this occasion looks like she did play but for some reason the sound didn't come out from the speakers. Our queen SuMetal plays the piano at Budokan 2021. She dance gracefully in this and she can take your breath away. The two of them are the spotlight because this is so intimate and after Legend S 2017 they didn't performed as a duo and this is the only time they performed together with no backup dancer around, all the other versions are with the full trio. For me this song talk about the two of them finding each other after such a odd times and MoaMetal is that shine on the road, the light at the end of the tunnel SuMetal needed to keep travelling her road, now boundlessly together. Some fans think this is like a tribute from Moa to Mikio-sama showing him how she became a young adult, not only beautiful but also skilled. She learned some lesson guitar from him while being on tour. *ARKADIA* I noticed Arkadia is an underrated song, i do like it but among power/speed metal songs i rather like more ROR or IDZ, maybe ROR is the song you found vibes on this one. Song was used as and ending show like in this case, but sometimes it was used as an opener like in "BABYMETAL AWAKENS - The Sun Also Rises" live concert, prior to this one, in which they introduced the avengers system. For some fans this is a song dedicated to YuiMetal: _"Now, for you dream, for your faith, for your life._ _No more tears, no more pain, no more cry."_ I can see many parts of this lyrics can be dedicated to YuiMetal and her happiness after all 🍅❤️ Sorry for the wall of text but you might guess the reason why. Keep enjoying your BM journey into the Foxhole (no rabbit here), till next time and kitsune up! 🦊🤘🔥
shine wasn’t about moa it’s about yui leaving the band the acoustic guitar you see is miko who sadly lost his life stargazing with his wife hence the first song starlight miko wife gave the band miko guitar to take with them on every tour they do
Shine is such a beautiful song (my 2nd favorite from MG), and this performance always makes me tear up a bit. Thanks for your reaction to the entire trilogy!
🍅💀🍅 🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼 Wherever we are, we'll be with you We'll never forget shining starlight Wherever you are, you live in my heart We'll never forget shooting star
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。I would like to defer to wise men in our fanbase like Grington, Rick Wager etc. for explanation of the trilogy. I love their narratives to express how beautifully this trilogy was crafted, especially for Shine.
As always, it was a great reaction and took notice of the fandom on which one to watch . Su and Moa duo version of shine, definitely your eye focuses on Moa's beautiful dancing, but your ears can not help listening to Su's very emotional sounding vocals ❤️❤️😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
The arkadia with barone on drums is at the live at the forum and legend metal galaxy day 2 shows so if you want you can watch that and compare his style with aoyama(as well as how the kamis of the east and west compare to one another).😊
Excellent reaction to the trilogy, thanks! Definitely my three favorite songs from the Metal Galaxy album. In my opinion, these songs blend perfectly with the style of the new album. "Shine" is a very beautiful and emotional song and I still consider this one of Su-metal's finest works as a vocalist. And now you know why "Arkadia" is on my absolute top 3 alongside "Akatsuki" and "Megitsune". It's been performed only 10 times and always as a show opener or closer, except for Legend Metal Galaxy (day 2) where they used it as a fake closer right before a very, very special encore which you should check out. Actually the encores from both days: "Road of Resistance" on day 1 and "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" on day 2. This performance from Nagoya had definitely the kamis from the east. If you want to see Barone destroying his drum kit you need to watch the LMG version. 😁 And I'm glad Su didn't troll Moa with the mic this time like she did at the Tokyo Dome. 🤣 Faster than light, stronger than steel, without fear on the path of mission, even if a certain amount of darkness covers up, let’s go through what we believed was the right path. - Arkadia -
Actually she trolled her again. But it is a bit off-cam and you have too see it happening from far away shots and in the live feed screens in the arena that have a close shot. Finally she gave her the mic that's what we see when the close shot enters. You can see it if you have the concert from 1:17:04 to 1:17:11.
@@Hadesillo Hahaha... you are totally right. But at least it wasn't a total trolling. But tbh, Moa was asking for it placing her arm around Su's shoulders. 🤣
For Starlight, I actually like the MV....Yes, it didn't have any of the girls in it, but the costumes, the overall feel of the video meshed very well with the music. Take a look at it on your own. Having Moa being the center of attention for this song is so fitting since it was her Bday concert (hence Legend M(oa))...... And just having Moa and Su perform this is so fitting with the lyrics, after all the trials they've been through, the loss of Yui and Mikio, the uncertainties of whether they would continue with Babymetal after Yui left ..... And now they find strength in each other to walk a path together as the lyrics says.... There was a series of interview called the Babymetal Chronicles (something you should checkout) where Su and Moa talked about their concerts and performances.... In Shine, Su said that thought they were never touching, She still felt like they were hand in hand during this performance. I'm sure if they did held hands and walked off together, the cheering from the crowd would've brought the building down. Arkadia, as another reactor describes it, is like Road of Resistance 2.0.... The overall feel is like after the boss battle in an anime and all the heroes are gathering together to bask in the victory. 🤘🦊🤘
I very much agree my friend. I too really vibe with the Starlight MV. I feel that it was an extremely fitting MV that portrayed very well how BABYMETAL were feeling at the time... It's monochromatic colour, the almost fractured nature of the choreo, the bleak looking landscape...
@@daimyoj9266 I like the desolation, pain and anguish portrayed by the actors... if the song was meant to show the pain of the loss of Mikio and Yui, and the whole uncertainty of that Era, than the video was very well done.
Starlight is the first song where BM used a 9 stringed guitar in the studio version, the other one is BxMxC Shine is the only BM song that has an acustic guitar in it :) And this version is the only time they did it with only 2 girls! This Arkadia was the only time they played it as a closing song! Now time for a new era show on twitch :D
Su has such a beautiful but powerful voice, she controls every bodies emotions so well. Best vocalist around for a long time in my opinion. Great reaction bro. Now then, Sakura Gakuin. First off, when Su was there , they all wore dark school blazers, after she had left , the blazers were a light brown colour. There's music , live and recorded, funny nendo test segments , fun sketch type stuff and the odd surprise party. Sumetals graduation will get a few tears flowing, from her farewell speech , the other girls farewell speeches, ( Moa loses it totally ) and finally, Sus graduation toss , performed at her graduation show. All well worth a watch. And that's just the first 2 years of SG. Have fun. 😎 🦊🦊💥🦊🦊
Moas finger placements are close, but they dont exactly match. I think she probably did the backing track and mimed that live. Nothing wrong with it. The guitar is meant to be more of a performance prop in this case.
Great reaction. I checked I think 2 days of Legend M were Eastern/Japanese Kami band. And in the video, the few glimpses I saw without going on BuyMeACoffee were all Eastern Kami band. Sadly Moametal doesn't feel certain enough with her guitar playing to allow herself to perform this. It would be fitting for Babymetal to invent Metal Ballet after inventing Kawaii Metal... their shows are almost like a Rock Opera for certain. A Rock Opera without any talking, just songs. Like Darkly Tranquil said this Shine performance felt so personal...
Sometimes singing makes dancing more beautiful. Sometimes dancing makes singing even more amazing. And in that SHINE , it was both. But the most important thing is because there were only Su and Moa on that stage. They said several times in interviews after Yui left: "her departure made a bong between the Su-metal and Moametal even stronger.". Here we can see that what they said was true.
Great reaction to the Trilogy! Personally, I feel that this performance of Shine is BABYMETAL's best performance of any of their songs... it's so emotive. Moa's choreo and Su's vocals just exude emotion, their eye contact with one another, the visuals, and of course the Western Kami Band... it all combines for such a sadly beautiful performance. Starlight and Shine are top 5 BABYMETAL for me... I think that I can say that confidently 😂. Thank you very much for reacting to this amazing piece of music. 🦊🤘🔥❤️
It's a shame you did not watch the versions with subtitles, you don't get the full impact without the Lyrics. Sure, still amazing songs without them but even greater with them. You should look them up, you will have an even greater appreciation for these songs. Also note, that although Moa may have been miming the guitar, she can play. Legend M was in Japan so it was the Eastern KAMI Band. Legend Metal Galaxy had both KAMI BANDS as that is when they announced the new KAMI's and the Avengers if I am not mistaken. SOOOOO the drums you are hearing in Arkadia is Hideki Aoyama of the Eastern KAMI Band and not Anthony Barone. Anthony does do the drums in the Legend Metal Galaxy performance of this song. The Trilogy of Lights (although not officially confirmed) is rumored to be a Tribute to Mikio Fujioka, He was an avid stargazer making Starlight perfect. The songs respectively are about loss, coming to terms with that loss and overcoming the loss and looking forward to a brighter Future. Starlight, Shine and Arkadia.
Thanks! I usually will never watch a first time reaction with lyrics on if I can help it because if I have to read lyrics the whole time, I maym miss something going on in the live performance. I did make sure to watch WITH lyrics afterwards and you are completely correct! Thanks!
What a journey, right? From an audio standpoint, definitely from a visual standpoint, but for me also from an emotional standpoint. I think the fact that these songs and performances are always associated with Yui and Mikio makes sense when you consider the mental states after a loss. At least for me and my experience with it. But even leaving all that out of it, these 3 songs are nothing but transcendent and epic. ✨ After this finale of the album, 'Metal Kingdom' as the opener followed by 'Divine Attack' might even get a little more impact for the upcoming album. I don't know, for me, it suits together from the feeling and (further developed) style. 😏🤘🏻🦊 _____________________ 「 _'Our rock never dies ever. Forever!'_ 」 --- *BAND-MAID* 'Manners' 🕊
I think that is the eastern Kamis in Shine at Legend M. I see BOH's base and Ohmura's guitar in the musicians in the background of Shine. Also the acoustic guitar is mic-ed (you can see it when they pull back) so I don't think it has ever been confirmed that Moa was not playing that guitar. As far as I know the only Japanese show the western Kamis have played in was Legend Metal Galaxy. Please correct me if I am wrong.
It's the eastern for sure. I mistook a comment I saw on stream regarding Barone "going nuts on Arkadia" but it was directed for the LMB performance! Doh!
From interview comments we know Moa was asked if she wanted to play the guitar live. But she demurred saying she felt she was too out of practice. Humble Super Moa chan.
It's not official information, but it's agreed between the BM fandom that "The Trilogy of Lights" represents 3 stages of grief: 1) Starlight: Suffering a loss 2) Shine: Acceptance of the situation 3) Arkadia: Overcoming the loss and moving forward If you listen to the songs with these 3 stages in mind, you can really feel those exact emotions !!
Totally understand why people suggest the Legend M version of Shine, but I personally prefer the other version - the choreography is even better with the three of them. I also have a preference for the studio version of Starlight as it just hits harder. I think a lot of people have a downer on the track because of its timing, MV, potential meanings, etc. so I'd say it's underappreciated. I'd be quite happy if there were no power metal tracks in BABYMETAL's entire discography, but I'll credit them with doing a good job with a tired genre and Arkadia fits well to close the (unofficial) trilogy. When you look at METAL GALAXY track-by-track, it's a very strong collection of songs with an amazing diversity of musical styles covered. Strange how so many people consider it the 'worst' of the three albums to date. Perhaps BABYMETAL still has a lot to do in teaching the world to be open minded.
Not unofficial. Koba talked about it in his book or something. Steven (funnytoss) has a translation on his blog (October 2021 entry): "Incidentally, the three songs performed at the end of Day 2, also known as the “Trilogy of Lights”, which also decorated the last part of the album, were another highlight of the show. “Starlight” revealed a ray of light in the darkness. “Shine” expanded the world of light, and “Arkadia” led us into a utopia… “Starlight”, “Shine”, and the closer “Arkadia” formed an infinite loop, like a samsara. It was the first time the three songs had been performed live in this sequence, as on the album, in a self-homage to the suite played at Tokyo Dome, going from “Tales of the Destinies” into “THE ONE”."
@@road-runner Sure, but it isn't credited as a trilogy on any official releases. It's not "Trilogy of Lights, Part 1: Starlight", for example. The key part of your quote is "also known as", often an indication of an unofficial or informal designation.

"Starlight" (2018)
"Elevator Girl" (2019)
Background and release:-
"Starlight" was first teased on October 4, 2018, as part of a trailer for Babymetal's first graphic novel, Apocrypha: The Legend of Babymetal (2018). The song was briefly made available on the band's official TH-cam channel on October 18, 2018 before being made unavailable. The song was officially released the following day, along with the official announcement of Yui Mizuno's departure from the band.
Su-metal has stated she enjoys singing the high parts in the middle of the track, linked to the choreography.
It is widely speculated by fans that the song is meant to be a tribute to Mikio Fujioka, a former live guitarist for the band who died earlier that same year.
Composition:-
"Starlight" was described as "pretty djenty" by Greg Kennelty of Metal Injection. Scott Munro of Metal Hammer commented that the song "starts off slowly but soon kicks into a frantic pace, complete with catchy chorus, thundering drums and slabs of crunching guitars", while Billboard called it a "ferocious and heavy melody that explores their signature hybrid of metal riffs and infectious vocal attacks".
Reception:-
"Starlight" debuted at number 41 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 for the week of October 29, 2018, with 1,150 first-week equivalent units. The following week, the song rose to number 24, with 1,637 equivalent units. Due to being released exclusively in a digital format, the song charted at number nine on the Oricon Digital Singles chart for the week October 28, 2018, with first-week downloads of 8,666 copies. In the United States, "Starlight" debuted at number seventeen and four on the Billboard World Hard Rock Songs and Billboard World Digital Songs charts, respectively, for the week November 3, 2018.
"SHINE"
The guitar which Moametal plays is a replica if not is one of Mikio Fujioka acoustic guitar 🎸. It represents the Analogy of Mikio Fujioka who passed away and Yuimetal who left Babymetal. Starlight is about remembering, Shine is about acceptance and Arkadia is looking forward to the future. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤟
'Shine' is about acceptance. Su-Metal and Moametal accepted the fact that Mikio Fujioka is watching over Babymetal and Yuimetal is no longer with Babymetal. Even though Moametal doesn't really playing the guitar which she could, the mood of which this song captivate and portray is mesmerising. Su-Metal and Moametal performed this song for each other and for current and former members of Babymetal. The acoustic guitar which Moametal plays is one of Mikio replica if not his collection which Mikio have. They are leaving the memories that Babymetal created together but not forgotten. Great reaction always. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🇯🇵🇸🇬

ARKADIA:-
Arkadia is a very sad song by BABYMETAL but with a tempo of 100 BPM. It can also be used double-time at 200 BPM. The track runs 5 minutes and 19 seconds long with a C♯/D♭ key and a major mode. It has high energy and is not very danceable with a time signature of 4 beats per bar. "Road Of Resistance" is a battle cry and ready for war but "Arkadia" is a more of a victory after a long battle and looking forward to a better future. BABYMETAL is relentless and you have to give respect to Metal drummers for the stamina and endurance given by them in every concert.

Lyrics Overview:-
Dwell in a small chest

Far away from that light

Thanks so much!
Babymetal was intended to be a group focused to girls, but 90%+ of fan base is men. We have feelings too!
Hell yes we do!
Very well said!
Arcadia is crazy, but Shine is the best of the album. Especially lyrics, especially as a tribute to Mikio.
Love it even more when I realized it was also a tribute!
Great reactions! These songs and this performance really hits the feels for Me 🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻
Thanks! I agree!
The lyrics in the softly sung part of 'Starlight':
"Wherever we are we'll be with you.
Thanks so much for the info!
@@GlassMoonGaming You are always most welcome.
Probably my most favorite of Su's singing in that Shine performance. She is angelic. Moa ❤❤. Moa is absolutely elegant and hypnotizing with her dancing. She is truly amazing. 🤘🦊🤘
That was a PERFECT performance.
I agree 100%
It's a confirmation that Babymetal songs are and meant to be able to interpret in different ways
I love that!
*STARLIGHT*
There's an official MV released the same day YuiMetal announced her official retirement in October 2018, none of the girls feature there, only images related to the Chosen Seven lore and the girls show up at the end a little bit so not really worth a reaction.
*SHINE*
Our princess of Nagoya can play the guitar for sure, but in this occasion looks like she did play but for some reason the sound didn't come out from the speakers.
*ARKADIA*
I noticed Arkadia is an underrated song, i do like it but among power/speed metal songs i rather like more ROR or IDZ, maybe ROR is the song you found vibes on this one.
Song was used as and ending show like in this case, but sometimes it was used as an opener like in "BABYMETAL AWAKENS - The Sun Also Rises" live concert, prior to this one, in which they introduced the avengers system.
For some fans this is a song dedicated to YuiMetal:
_"Now, for you dream, for your faith, for your life._
_No more tears, no more pain, no more cry."_
I can see many parts of this lyrics can be dedicated to YuiMetal and her happiness after all 🍅❤️
Sorry for the wall of text but you might guess the reason why. Keep enjoying your BM journey into the Foxhole (no rabbit here), till next time and kitsune up! 🦊🤘🔥
Thanks Jake!
Until the upcoming album maybe changes my mind, for me, this trilogy represents BABYMETAL's crown jewels!
Awesome! Thanks!
shine wasn’t about moa it’s about yui leaving the band the acoustic guitar you see is miko who sadly lost his life stargazing with his wife hence the first song starlight miko wife gave the band miko guitar to take with them on every tour they do
Shine is such a beautiful song (my 2nd favorite from MG), and this performance always makes me tear up a bit. Thanks for your reaction to the entire trilogy!
Thanks! It was my pleasure!

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。I would like to defer to wise men in our fanbase like Grington, Rick Wager etc. for explanation of the trilogy. I love their narratives to express how beautifully this trilogy was crafted, especially for Shine.
Thanks!
Agree completely!

And I'm glad Su didn't troll Moa with the mic this time like she did at the Tokyo Dome. 🤣
Faster than light, stronger than steel,
without fear on the path of mission,
even if a certain amount of darkness covers up,
let’s go through what we believed was the right path.
- Arkadia -
Actually she trolled her again.
But it is a bit off-cam and you have too see it happening from far away shots and in the live feed screens in the arena that have a close shot. Finally she gave her the mic that's what we see when the close shot enters. You can see it if you have the concert from 1:17:04 to 1:17:11.
@@Hadesillo Oh! I didn't notice. I'll check it out later, thanks!
LOL That's awesome!
🤘🦊🤘
Very great, and accurate descriptions. Thanks!
I very much agree my friend. I too really vibe with the Starlight MV. I feel that it was an extremely fitting MV that portrayed very well how BABYMETAL were feeling at the time... It's monochromatic colour, the almost fractured nature of the choreo, the bleak looking landscape...
@@daimyoj9266 I like the desolation, pain and anguish portrayed by the actors... if the song was meant to show the pain of the loss of Mikio and Yui, and the whole uncertainty of that Era, than the video was very well done.
great reaction🦊
Thank you!
all hail to KAMI BAND 🔥
Hell yes!
For your faith, for your dreams, for your life.
No more tears, No more pain, No more cry.
I’m bawling 😭.
So beautiful!
勉強になりました😊
Thanks!
Shine is my current favorite. Always brings on the puddle of tears... Thanks!
Nice!
@@GlassMoonGaming Now, go forth and find the legendary White T-shirt Guy... At the bottom of the Foxhole. See you!
Starlight is the first song where BM used a 9 stringed guitar in the studio version, the other one is BxMxC
Shine is the only BM song that has an acustic guitar in it :) And this version is the only time they did it with only 2 girls!
This Arkadia was the only time they played it as a closing song!
Now time for a new era show on twitch :D
Awesome! The world has surely opened up on what I can watch on Twitch now! Can't wait!
Have fun. 😎
🦊🦊💥🦊🦊
Thanks for the info! I can't wait to dig deeper!
I've barely scratched the surface. 😂😂
Arkadia is my second if not first favourite BABYMETAL song, behind Akatsuki.
It's the marching beat section that does it for me, amazing song.
That part just hit me when it comes on!
I love songs that start out soft and dreamy then get super heavy like that. Awesome!
It's amazing!
Beautifully said!
Couldn't agree more!
This A.guitar is a memento of Mikio Fujioka...
Thanks!
Emotive is the perfect word choice! Thanks!
Thanks!
@@GlassMoonGaming That makes sense, glad you did take in the lyrics afterwards!
@@GlassMoonGaming I put subtitles in that video when i uploaded it if you want to check the lyrics any other time, just need to activate them xD
👍 👍 👍
WooHoo!
After this finale of the album, 'Metal Kingdom' as the opener followed by 'Divine Attack' might even get a little more impact for the upcoming album. I don't know, for me, it suits together from the feeling and (further developed) style. 😏🤘🏻🦊

I know what you mean! Thanks!
And that is definitely BOH and Ohmura in Arkadia too. Was Barrone playing drums instead of Hideki?
It's the eastern for sure. I mistook a comment I saw on stream regarding Barone "going nuts on Arkadia" but it was directed for the LMB performance! Doh!
From interview comments we know Moa was asked if she wanted to play the guitar live. But she demurred saying she felt she was too out of practice. Humble Super Moa chan.
It's not official information, but it's agreed between the BM fandom that "The Trilogy of Lights" represents 3 stages of grief:
1) Starlight: Suffering a loss
2) Shine: Acceptance of the situation
3) Arkadia: Overcoming the loss and moving forward
If you listen to the songs with these 3 stages in mind, you can really feel those exact emotions !!
Very cool! Thanks!
also it is Hideki :P and the rest of Kami Band
Thanks!
A normal band would end their show with an emotional, lingering SHINE... but not BABYMETAL 😁 they end it on a high note!
Well said!
I'll tell you one thing, I can't wait to see what they do bring! I agree about the open mindedness 100% Not enough of that in the world!
Not unofficial. Koba talked about it in his book or something. Steven (funnytoss) has a translation on his blog (October 2021 entry):
"Incidentally, the three songs performed at the end of Day 2, also known as the “Trilogy of Lights”, which also decorated the last part of the album, were another highlight of the show.
@@FourBleats The fact Koba mentioned it makes it official automatically imo.
@@road-runner If you insist.
