Kobametal and his production team are INSANE musical geniuses! WTF! The remaining songs that came out today are seriously blowing my mind! Also the SAXOPHONE in THE LEGEND really surprised me!🤘🦊🤘
Saxophone is the it thing to put in metal currently. Periphery had a sax solo, and didn't also Sleep token have one, and Shrezzers also has sax on their new album. It's the 2023 thing to do in metal.
Free Jazz/Punk Jazz/Hardcore was a serious thing in the late 80s/early 90s in Japan travelling to the US mainly through John Zorn who had spend some time in Japan and further developed the sound. Saxophone has found its way especially into Black Metal a long time ago. Sigh have been doing it for ages. White Ward (although a younger band) used it as a *main* instrument in their music as well. Both bands have been criticised for that. It might be a weird comparison in these crazy days but it's like we are finally entering the stage where even the mainstream starts to believes that the earth is round/that music doesn't have to be restricted to certain instruments after a long 30 years of denial and holding onto prejudices. Of course now people perceive it as something new and "edgy".....
"This is why BABYMETALS on top", speak loudly sir 🗣🔥🦊 Thank you for this amazing reaction. I don't have words to describe what I just listened fr just BABYMETAL can make this to me
Honestly, this has to be one of my favorite albums from BabyMetal! They continue to just get better and better everytime! Can’t wait for the big reveal now on Fox Day! Let’s go!!!
Koba be trolling naysayers. This album takes the whole “you never know what BabyMetal will do next” to the extreme. I’m all for it. Even more people will say “this reminds me of anime” haha. I can’t wait for BabyMetal to announce their schedule for their US leg of their tour. I will. I need to see BabyMetal Live again. Personally, my favorite track in this album is Believing. That said, I’ve been known to change my mind as BabyMetal got too many godamn good songs in each album. I need to witness Su’s vocal greatness. Momoko’s sheer joy on stage. Moa’s energy and beauty.
SU-METAL: First of all, THE OTHER ONE isn’t the main story of BABYMETAL. It was made during the time we took a break from doing concerts after our ten-year METAL RESISTANCE saga, so the album is about “an alternate BABYMETAL.” At the same time, we’re sometimes called “Kawaii Metal” but don’t think that’s the only thing we’re about. We want to make new music, so we don’t want to be tied down by that image. We want to show another side like this and hope people will enjoy this, too. On top of that, BABYMETAL’s new main story will begin again, so please look forward to that as well.
“that’s gonna keep me up tonight” it’s 2am and i’m watching this after listening to the album like 3 times and i still have to listen to new fall out boy😩😩
Thanks Wave for sharing this BabyMetal's metalverse journey, i was binging all day with the new tracks, Time Wave and METALIZM are on top for me but overall the full album is a blast.🦊🤘🌐🔥
Excellent job Wave. I enjoyed this as much as any review/analysis I have ever watched. I freaking love this album and cannot wait to see them performed LIVE.
Metalizm is my new favorite. I have maintained that I liked Megitsune over even the newest stuff that I have loved, until I heard Metalizm. It scratches the coolest itch in my brain all the way through.
That was really great, thanks Wave. Had to laugh whenever your jaw dropped.😮 What a great album ... and 'Metalizm' just makes me grin like a fool when the guitar comes in ... 😁
I love Su's cadence in METALIZM ( I WISH we got more of it. a 3rd verse or something) Her vocal control reminds me of Shanti Shanti Shanti, just not as much effluxion. And the beat is sooooo good. The 2 guitar solo type shredding parts are going to be amazing live. VERY curious what the choreography for it will be like. Moa is going to KILL IT. I feel like this song NEEDS it's own costume.🤘🦊🤘 I almost die laughing every time someone hears the Sax come in. I am falling in love with Legend more in more. I feel like Su is singing directly to me. I love the change up too. Tempo is a little quicker and just covers me in warmth. 🤘🦊🤘❤
excellent content Wave-Metal, it was really nice of them to name a song after you huh Wave? I love your enthusiasm and technical know-how, now if a person can't find something about this album to love, then they probably only hate the world and themselves, too bad for them... anyway, BABYMETAL is only proving again, why they are the best, just wait until the Kami band gets ahold of these new songs, and btw I'm glad it got unblocked, probably because they now have these audio singles on their YT page.
Great reaction video as I have not yet heard these songs either. All of this is great and kudos to Koba Metal for creating 13 years of songs for baby metal and coming up with these mixes of genres and styles. Another thing I have noticed over the decade I have listened to babymetal is the songs are maturing with the ladies. They are not 12 year olds, they are now 23 and 25 years old and this is what I would want to hear from them. You mentioned Nemophila, also great and they themselves are babymetal fans and actually did a cover of babymetal complete with the ponytails. These songs sounded larger than life audio only, when Babymetal does these live, it will be insane.
Oh, well, we should know better now, Koba IS a troll, of course he couldn't resist the chance to mislead the most 😂! I mean, I got the digital gallery, for months they didn't give any snippet for one only song, turn out it was the background music of the gallery itself and we actually have been listening at that all the time, that's the guy 😂! This album is incredibly good, loving it already, arguably their best so far 👌 🤘🦊⚡️
Interview Su-Metal said that The Other One isn’t the real 4th album and said that the 4th album is in working process with Haven&Hade(Heaven&Hell) metal sound!.Also interview Su-Metal said that in The Other One album have a hidden message clue to who is the other one or other third person???…
Awesome. The Other One is just awesome. I wonder if they were giggling every time, they read the new album isn't heavy. I know I would be. They're going to have to play more winter gigs to cool things down. Lol
Lately I've seen some people in Japan use some of those synthethizers that are played like a wind instrument, like the EWI5000 and that stuff. Maybe that kind of digital saxophone is what is being played in The Legend.
I got to say ,Metalizm is pandora box of the album. In a good way ofc. Seeing your expresion just made my day. Also Cheb Mammi (desert rose) would be proud of Su-metal at that one. Dubstep married to metal ? Overkill by Riot introduced me to this side of metal. Just for reminder, back in their early days,Su already state that their main audience is female listener,so its not surprising why BM released softer or poppier song before the hard one. Maybe thats their strategy to made female audience hook up . As for us The One ,we already know their album is a box of mistery wait to discover :) And love your reaction. Edit : now I'm waiting Gaijin guys covering Metalizm
I personally think this is their BEST album yet. They always put out their best every time. You can really hear how they’ve matured. In my opinion, this album has no bad or weak songs.
METALIZM's beat its similar to Vini Vici, a EDM artist with Psy-trance genre. This song particularly is a combine between Psy-trance and metal which is insane. I can't imagine when in Tomorrowland or Ultra this song will be dropped by EDM artists 🤣
Maya is the best song. Such a vibe. Time wave is fun for a pop song. The problem I'm having with this album is that Su voice is too processed and too many vocal effects. I'm not a fan of those kind of vocals. Also, where the hell did the guitar solos go?
I also feel they released the worst songs xD Am I the only one that in "Believing" I hear the Tatu song when they sing "All the things she said"? 🤣🤣 Babymetal already had Indian music blended in a song: if you haven't checked it out yet, check "Shanti, Shanti, Shanti" from their third album YOu talking about Dubstep fusion, I don't remember which BM shows you watched, but BM has been integrating dubstep from the beginning. You should check out: - "Uki Uki Midnight" live at Budokan 2014 (from first album) - "Headbanger Night of 15 mix" live from Legend 1997 in 2013 (played only twice, it's the beginning of the Legend 1997 show together with a nice AveMaria) - "From Dusk Till Dawn" live at Budokan 2021 (from second album)
Timewave, after hearing it a couple of times it's starting to really grow on me. Speaking of Nemophila and Babymetal, the first time I ever heard of Nemophila was their fantastic cover of Megitsune, it's on TH-cam go check it out!
Nice reaction overall. Due to your comments I would recommend Dir en grey's "Toguro" and "Reiketsu Nariseba" to you. If you are yet unfamiliar with the band, it's a 26 year old Japanese VK band still running in their original line-up. They have been touring overseas since 2005. Each of their 11 LPs had a fairly different and unique sound. The songs above are from their 2008 album UROBOROS (the entire album is worth checking out if you have the time. But go for the remastered and extended version which has the superior mix)
This is the second of their "Lyric" video, meaning there is a story to this, as was with Monochrome This one goes Shakespeare! If interested in that aspect, listen to AJ Hartley's take on mirror mirror.

Yes, exactly. Him and the production team truly are genius. The are magicians of the mixing board.

From 31:58, METALIZM, zumu zumu, I love it!!, haha. Zumu zumu.. So fun 👍😀
And at 38:20, that phrase sounds like Mikio Fujioka's classic guitar solo...

Imagine to produce this live, with choreographies, lights and fire effects!
I just watched 48:59 minutes of Wave-metal getting his mind blown. His face was literally "WTF" the whole time! Son, you got my SUB today. 🤘🦊🤘
Oh, Time Wave is way better than expected, it has that "British sound" I love...
🤘🦊⚡

Mikio would definitely be smiling!!!

This Album is my Number 1 every song is a Banger. The evolution of Babymetal what can I say. #notacult
18:49 21:01 Su-metal ASMR
Imagine Su whispering you that.❤
Metalizm is my new favorite. I have maintained that I liked Megitsune over even the newest stuff that I have loved, until I heard Metalizm. It scratches the coolest itch in my brain all the way through.
28:21 "all the things she said" 😅
T.a.t.u
That was really great, thanks Wave. Had to laugh whenever your jaw dropped.😮 What a great album ... and 'Metalizm' just makes me grin like a fool when the guitar comes in ... 😁
Haha.. I thought my video frozen when Metalizm started. Wave’s jaw dropped and didn’t moved for a few seconds.

My CD is on its way. Can't wait!
I hope the concert venue magically turns into a badass nightclub whenever they play Time Wave.
That ' we are the legend' hit so hard🔥🔥🔥
Time Wave = it's about time, Wave, prepare yourself 🤘
Excellent reaction and analysis. I really enjoyed it.
Totally love the whole new album and I'm so happy about that.

I wanna see them perform Maya live
So many good tracks. Time Wave is such a banging club track.

🤘🦊⚡️
They should stop releasing snippets. They all sounded bad out of context. But the songs are mostly fantastic.
@minstrelblood9110 😅 the Digital Gallery was all about that, and of course be part of The ONE 🤘🦊⚡️
When you said arpeggiated synth i hit the like button. 15:00
Man, I'm so glad you did this. This was awesome to watch.

34:40 The moment that will go down in history as the instant Wave's brain broke.
🤘🦊🤘 Love this album so much!!
If you drop the vocals from Metalizm it would fit right in on an Infected Mushroom album.
Infected Mushroom was one of the first things I thought of when I listened to it too.
I got to say ,Metalizm is pandora box of the album. In a good way ofc.
Seeing your expresion just made my day.
Also Cheb Mammi (desert rose) would be proud of Su-metal at that one.

It’s good. But nothing beats metal galaxy.
I agree... best for last! 🤘👍
"...breaking the structure of [rock] music" that's BABYMETAL in a nutshell 👍
🤘🦊🤘
🔥🦊🔥
METALIZM's beat its similar to Vini Vici, a EDM artist with Psy-trance genre. This song particularly is a combine between Psy-trance and metal which is insane. I can't imagine when in Tomorrowland or Ultra this song will be dropped by EDM artists 🤣
METALIZM is hella hella fun and sounds like a new genre altogether!!!!!! Funny thing is this is what we expect from the band called BABYMETAL. 😆
It's a great reaction that shows your love for music.
Totally Polythia inspired opening riff. . .and the DRUMS DRUMS DRUMS!!!!!!!. . . .
Then you know. . . . . . . . . . Su!
Maya is the best song. Such a vibe. Time wave is fun for a pop song. The problem I'm having with this album is that Su voice is too processed and too many vocal effects. I'm not a fan of those kind of vocals. Also, where the hell did the guitar solos go?

YOu talking about Dubstep fusion, I don't remember which BM shows you watched, but BM has been integrating dubstep from the beginning.
You should check out:
- "Uki Uki Midnight" live at Budokan 2014 (from first album)
- "Headbanger Night of 15 mix" live from Legend 1997 in 2013 (played only twice, it's the beginning of the Legend 1997 show together with a nice AveMaria)
- "From Dusk Till Dawn" live at Budokan 2021 (from second album)
Nope I heard Tatu as well 😆
AS I SAY :
BABYMETAL IS SUPERIOR!
KNEEL AND REVECE THE QUEEN OF HIROSHIMA AND THE PRINCESS OF AICHI!!
Timewave, after hearing it a couple of times it's starting to really grow on me.
Speaking of Nemophila and Babymetal, the first time I ever heard of Nemophila was their fantastic cover of Megitsune, it's on TH-cam go check it out!

To mee it seems like they are becoming less of a gimmick act and more trying to have actual good songs
That mirror mirror are too progressive.
This is the second of their "Lyric" video, meaning there is a story to this, as was with Monochrome This one goes Shakespeare! If interested in that aspect, listen to AJ Hartley's take on mirror mirror.
I like a lot of it but too much English for me at times
