Cork is harvested from the unshed bark cork oak, and is a fully renewable resource. It grows back.
But I'd prefer a nice sheet of woven woollen cloth, like a piece of blanketing, to display a whole lot of pins. The cork will retain holes from where the pins pierce it.
I store cork in my house so when we run out of cork I can sell it and become a millionaire

I actually collect the pins like the ones on Majora's Mask, and i store them by clipping them to a firm string.
The sting is hanged to the bookcase thanks to adhesive velcro pieces, one of those placed on the string and one placed on the wall.
pj is so underrated, he's really funny, there are about 4 or 5 really funny quotes in this video alone.

It is true that cork (from cork trees) is in limited supply, however, synthetic cork is readily available. It is made from plastic (see cheap wine bottles).
From what I've read the cork industry is one of the most environmentally friendly harvesting processes in the world because it's extracted from the bark and no trees get cut down making it super renewable. But with the decline in the industry due to twist caps, plastic stoppers and synthetic cork the forests aren't being cultivated and are disappearing as a result. I'm no expert though.

No, but wait, where did you put all the backs? are the pins actually through the board? It looked too thick to actually put the pin all the way through. What if you want to wear the pins and you lost all the backs? (Im actually super curious since I lose everything myself and can't fathom how you wouldn't lose the small backs of pins.)
don't worry I've given them to a genie who I haven't expended all my wishes with. I'll probably just use my remaining wishes every time I want a backing.

My family is big into pin collecting and trading. My mom has been collecting pins for as long as I can remember. She keeps all of hers on a jacket and the collection grew so large that the jacket became too heavy to wear so we had to put it on a display mannequin. If I had to guess I'd say she has at least 150-200 pins in her collection. The rest of the family is more into Disney Pin Trading. My brother isn't the biggest fan and my dad does it casually. My mom uses the opportunity to find more pins for her home collection and I'm the real aficionado. I about 4-5 lanyards worth of pins, one of which is a double wide lanyard so it can fit twice as many pins. I have some of the hardest to find collections (which I found in record time) and have completed 4 times more sets than I've kept (ultimately deciding to trade them away to get better sets). I probably have at least 75-100(?) pins. As I said. My family is full of pinheads.

I came back to this vid because I realized how many pins I actually somehow have and have decided to start collecting pins! I mean, I don't have a large variety, they're all either from Disney or Tennessee trips, but I still love my pins. (PS, turns out a wood framed canvas makes a really good pin display)

if you have pins that have the wrong backing, just get a frame that fits two separate pictures. then make one side with cork and the other with fabric so you can pin those ones to the fabric side
