Huge trombone octet (7 trombones + 1 tuba) performing Morricone melodies during Teacher Concert of Big Brass Fest 2007. James Gourlay, Tuba and Michel Bequet, Trombone
this is sooo beast after playing the trumpet from 4th grade till 11th, i switched to euphonium and realized how much better and important low brass is. trombones/euphonium/tuba own higher brass
I'm not trying to insult them or anything, but what happened at the ending? Is the last note not supposed to be played together, or is it supposed to be sincipated like that? I've heard it played together in the movie so I think they messed up. Either way, just wondering and I thought it was wonderful. Love the movie and the theme to it! Sounds great when played by trombones. Must be just a harmony meloness to it or something that gives such a warm tone, and most likely, great playing by them!
@iliketopmoveit Unfortunately I only took the video and I don't have the sheet music. I think you can contact Mr Michel Bequet, the teacher of that masterclass.
Is this the only time this has ever been performed? I can't find any song called Morricone Melodies anywhere on the internet -- save other instances of this same video on other sites.
@TromboneWizard7474 the highest tone there is my favorite
thing about this song.
Excellent!
This makes me regret ever stopping playing music I used to love the tuba
Most beautiful sound and arrangement(composition) amazing all these trombones have 1 or more triggers
I love these types of groups. While trumpets sound a little more piercing, these groups bring beautiful, warm chords.
awesome!i love trombones...but i play only the clarinet :(
Never too late
Gorgeous!
muy bueno, me encanta. Excellent¡¡¡¡¡
If anyone is wondering these pieces I believe are from Once Upon A Time In The West, an old western movie
I got chills anyone else?
Yeah, I believe it! I can play the melody but I've never played it with an ensemble before. Either way it was awesome! =)
If someone says trombones suck, they clearly don't understand this instruments true beauty and high level of difficulty to master.
ooh shivers
excellet good consistent tone
wow... very nice 6/5
Who needs an entire orchestra?
Fantastic!
this is sooo beast

This is so shockingly gorgeous I have to get out my horn and practice.
As some famous guy with some relation to music said (I can't remember who), the trombone is the voice of God.
I believe it's themes of Once Upon A Time In The West.
This is so beasty
