@@kvothe5824 The nice thing about a 24 man is that if you suck and don't know what you're doing, you only represent 1/24th of the party and for the older content you'll be just fine :) Worst case scenario just follow your party and don't stand in the muck.
I have played World of Warcraft since January of 2009. I ALWAYS hated doing dungeons, raids, etc. I could never find any decent info about doing these events. I moved over to FF approximately a month ago and thanks to you, Mr.TSDS, I was able to jump right into doing the dungeons, raids, etc. Thanks for making this 70 year old really, really enjoy the gaming world!
Yeah I have anxiety as well. It took me weeks to have another go at Keeper, after I was kicked after just two wipes 😕 Everyone had been so nice before that dungeon, too. But I joined an FC & got to know some of them in chat, so I didn't have to go in with all strangers! We cleared first time. So my advice to people like us is to join an FC!

I got in with the party and there was so much going on i had no idea what was going on or what to do but now i understand where i messed up and what to do if i end up trying it again. This was good, appreciate it. Been playing for 2 months and wanted to do all ARR content before moving on to HW. The bosses burned down way faster than even in your video so it wasn’t that big of deal for most of it but you explained it well and I knew what to do if it would have mattered. looking forward to future ones where mechanics will actually matter.
New player here, just unlocked the quest to do this and looked up a guide and glad I stumbled upon yours. Very thorough and right to the point. As someone who doesn't have a lot of raid history in MMO's this makes it less stressful going into it for the first time.

Ironically, I played Monster Hunter World prior to getting back into FFXIV, and when Ecliptic Meteor showed up I was like "hey, I know what to do with this move!"
Just want to say, this was a really good video. I learned a bit more about the mechanics when you can see them along with the advice. Some other videos will tell you what to do without showing the mechanic on screen very clearly. Overall just felt really cleanly edited video. I will def check out other guide vids you've made. I just started alliance raiding and am trying to get comfortable with healing and tanking, the controls, etc. My idea is that if I do these enough till I am actually decent at them, I'll be good enough to try harder content.

This guide was super helpful as a brand new player, honestly the hardest part was keeping up with the veterans pelting through it at top speed. Died to the Bone Dragon because they tanked in the middle and just ignored skellies - I'm assuming their higher ilvls let them survive the AOE but every sprout went down lol. Then starting the dance pad boss before half the team was there 🥲 On the bright side, I'm now ready to zone into Syrcus and just run my Lala legs off
As an experienced player, this is a good video. The only addition I'd note here in the comments (if anyone reads them) is that for the allagan bomb fight, each tank needs to have one Vassago, and only one. I've had multiple runs lately where the dps or healers tanked one because my alliance's tank fucked off to another mob and didn't respond to us yelling at them to get back here. (One time I rescued them only to have them drag the other vassago on top of ours, so, that doesn't even work.) ABC at all times.
You forgot to mention on the Atamos part, that the platform that YOUR group stands on is bringing down the shield of the corresponding color for ANOTHER group's Atamos. So, effectively, another group can actually bone your group over even if everyone in your group is doing what they should be doing.
Don't stand in the yuck LOL That is one of the more creative way I have heard that described. And Yes I am still fairly new to FF14 but have raided in wow for years.

(The only thing I wasn't sure about was how to tell who has the invisible buff?) There is an icon that will show who has the invisibility buff, and everyone in the same party (A, B or C) will get it. Outside of that, their character will become a bit transparent so they won't be as easy to see.
I just bumbled my way through this for the first time with the alliance windows nearly smack-dab in the middle of my screen. We got through without wiping, but I definitely had trouble contributing. I should do better next time thanks to this guide!

As a new player, im terrified of having this be mandatory. I already get so much anxiety just having to do hard dungeons because im not the best player. Now I feel like this is where I'm going to get stuck and have to quit playing because I cant progress.
I used to be super scared too! I couldn't even queue up for anything unless I had watched a guide like 10 times, then I finally had a friend queue us in so I didn't back out in a pit of anxiety. And I still get nervous about high level content sometimes, even after hitting level 80! It takes time for that anxiety to ease, but like the other reply said, wanting to improve and wanting to be a good player for others is always the first sign of already being a good player. You won't do perfect immediately, and that's okay! Mistakes are learning experiences that everyone goes through, and we were all new at some point. Plus, you already wanna improve and do good, that puts you leagues above some stuck up jerk who never listens or cares! People give this advice a lot, but sometimes even just a 'I'm new to the dungeon/raid/trial, let me know if there's anything I should do!' message in party chat will get you VERY far.

I just did this raid blind without reading a guide as a tank, it's really easy these days and I'm a terrible player. Caused one wipe because I didn't understand the boulder mechanic but nobody really minded, so you should be fine after this video. Good luck and have fun, it's a dope raid

As a Melee DPS, I hate that final boss so much. Tanks always seem to love to pull him as far away from my spot as possible so I have to pop a Sprint to get back.
I don't think so. There are places in each raid that take 3 teams as well and some need certain number of players for mechanics. So you would still need almost a full alliance.

I am anxiously avoiding this raid for weeks already. How will I know if I am group A, B or C? I already see myself running to the wrong places :D
If you look at my party list in the video, at the top above the names of the 8 ppl in my party it says "alliance C" which means I am in party C :)
