I did this instance for the first time yesterday, I didn't die once. Some of that can be attributed to the healers, some to the story gear. But I think the overwhelming reason for no deaths is this guide. Thank you.
For anyone is curious about the level 100 Flare and 150 Death, the attack adds up the levels of anyone in the circle, including the person who is bound. Keep in mind that everyone is synced to level 50. If 4 people are in the circle like in the video, then 50×4=200. 200 is a multiple of 100 so the Lv100 Flare goes off and takes out those 4 guys. If it was Lv150 Death, it actually would not have done anything, because 150 does not go into 200. Now, none of this really matters for two reasons. 1. It's an aoe casted by the boss, the first response should be to get the hell out of there. 2. If everyone gets out, there is only ever a number of 50 applied to the mechanic from the person it is centered on. 50 is not a multiple of 100 nor 150 (it is a factor, not a multiple) so no one should ever get hit. Basically, do as the guide says and just...move!
the only times i have had issues with this raid is the eyeball of doom. and half the time it's cause the tanks are fighting eachother for agro while being on different sides of it causing the fcker to spin around and fire off it's lasers like a god damn disco ball hit with a laser pointer.
Another excellent guide, helped me get through this raid today. Fun fact: I must have died about a dozen times in the fight against Angra Mainyu because every time the healer rezzed me, it was just as the boss used Mortal Gaze, hitting me with Doom so. many. fucking. times. I had fun, but I never want to do this raid again.
So funny story: I’m actually already grinding up the current tier savage and prepping for 6.3 launch day raiding parties and I always do my raid dailies and know most of them well enough to avoid vuln stacks no problem but every time I got World of Darkness I *never* knew what the ABC’s on Cerberus actually meant… I somehow always get alliance B and the entire time I’ve been having a “I don’t know what belly means but at this point I’m too afraid to ask” moment for MONTHS so I figured I’d look up a video to find out wtf I was actually supposed to do because even my own FC NEVER EXPLAINED IT TO ME WHEN THEY TOOK ME THROUGH THE FIRST TIME, so thank you for the guide! Now I feel less like a fraud 🥰
It’s really not as bad as you think. Even if you make tons of mistakes usually it doesn’t cause any big issue. People died a few times in my group and no one cared. They just rezzed and moved on. As a summoner I had to revive my healers and we still didn’t wipe. The Labyrinth run we wiped twice as a raid and nobody was angry. Just went over mechanics. You won’t get judged harshly. It really is the type of thing you just have to jump in and do.
the last cloud boss also has a chain lightning sorta ability, it'll randomly pick someone and have an indicator above your head that will eventually call down lightning to slowly chase you. just keep running away and try not to go towards other people. if u can get a head start ur fine, if not I hope u have sprint
Found this channel from your super nice QOL tips and now just revisiting all the rest of your videos. Really love how well structured and explained they all are! Despite being now at post-Heavensward content, I still haven’t figured out a good chunk of the World of Darkness mechanics. This video was a treat! Would love to see some stuff for the Heavensward Alliance Raids as well if you’re still on the market to doing this sort of guide content, but otherwise very much looking forward to future videos!
Thanks! I had started on the Alliance Raids for Heavensward and even uploaded the first one, but took it down until I can do the whole series. I will definitely be doing the 6.1 Alliance Raids whenever they release and might do others at some point, but not sure when yet as I have a whole list of other videos I would like to do first
just beat this thanks to this guide ! died once during the cerberus fight, AFTER the chains were fettered, still dont know what damaged me lol . Thanks for the great guide
When he said "no not look away from your screen dumbo" I literally looked away from my screen then when I faced back, my character was dead lmaooo I appreciate the guides too! Crisp, clear and to the point. Perfect for an aspiring Sprout!
Well, I think that's it for me for FFXIV. I have strong anxiety issues, and up until now I've been able to solo everything I've needed to to progress the MSQ (as a Paladin). But there is no way I'm going to attempt this. Why Square would put such a hurdle in the MSQ progression is beyond me tbh.
I can assure you it is a lot easier than it seems, most of the mechanics are very spaced out and fairly lenient if you mess one up (especially for a tank) and if you are ever confused or dont know/ remember a mechanic, you can always tell ur party that this is ur first time running the raid. there will usually be people that can help explain things to you
@@megacrane833 Thank you for the response! Believe it or not, I did actually bite the bullet and have a go not that long after writing my objectively whiny post lol (occasionally I'm able to go 'fudge it' and just dive head first into stuff, although I then often feel bad afterwards!!) - and, yes, although there was no communication at all, we actually breezed though it. It was a LOT easier than the video made out in all honestly, although I think I was lucky and might have got a very experienced team.
I have as much Healer Anxiety as you have Tankxiety! I am not looking forward to doing this as a sprout WHM LoL But I'm glad to know you actually completed this Raid.
@@theelvis654 I was in the exact same boat, eventually I did the same and just pushed past my anxiety and tried them. Now I do all my dailies and find them a lot of fun :)
Part of the fun of ffxiv is overcoming challenges. The whole community was once a sprout as well and if you just tell people that its your first time doing something 99% of the time they wont be upset if you mess something up. Its just a game at the end of the day. A game that we all play and love. Most of the community is happy to help new players. I understand getting anxiety but it would be a shame of you let it stop you from experiencing all that the game has to offer!
Maybe just add the „Feint Particle Beam“ in the Cloud of Darkness fight - a lot of people get killed in it. To be honest - it‘s always a lot of fun to watch. And - your guide is by far the most funny and informative I‘ve seen in a long time! Thank you!!! 👍🏻🤗
Also ran this one today for the first time, and had two people drop from it immediately, lol. Thankfully someone explained the light circles for curing doom before it happened so I knew how to fix it. It was still a shit show, but we won. Too bad all the drops were bard shit.... Salty monk over here...
thanks for the guide. definitely the last day in this crackpot game lul... there's nothing more triste, dull, boring... any other games' crappiest side quests are better than this main quest series... unbelievable anyone would be playing this. i thought i might make it to the endgame to see how that is but no thank you, can't be better than anything so far... i mean that game must have been as boring to develop than it is to play... imagine, go a, then go b, then go a again and b again and a again and b again and then do it 100 times more and the you can move on the the next area where you can move to c and then d and then c and then d and then c again and then repeat that a hundred times more and do that with locations e and f.... nothing more to say to this crap.. then comes the boring useless skills and the whole game looks very dull, no color, no good cutscenes (they all are as well the same, one after another) :'D why are you people playing garbage like this...??? well lucky I don't have to^^ let's just hope a good new mmo comes out soon, it's really time...

This gave me PTSD just watching it and it’s the next one I have to do

Bert with the 1000 mile stare in the beginning was a nice touch.
A good tip for the Forbidden Gates in the 2nd trash, make sure to use ranged LB or Caster LB to get them down quicker.

I thought it was A-Attack the belly, B-Bind with chains, and C-Control the adds?
makes samurais quit and become cat girls ... baw haw hahaha ... that was funny dude
thx for this guide man, its super usefull!

I'm new to the game and I'm not grabbing anybody on duty finder. Lol, wonder why
7:45 lmao oh boy, I feel like you may have had a rough time with this boss. Just an inkling. Haha
Great guide maybe I can finally do this without dying! Na I'll probably still die, but maybe not as often lol
Thanks this one was funnier than the others. Watch all your guide videos!
Everytime you move him around somewhere, a samurai dies lol
