    Fantastic small winged bowl! Your techniques and knowledge of how "timber" and tools behave is the best!!

    Nice design and flow. It may be me but you seem more relaxed and comfortable turning on the new lathe.

    Thank you very much sir, this went to a beautiful box,
    i was surprised, that the wings are flying, because i expected you to use them as feet, but those who can read properly will understand more 🙂
    I learned a lot again, thank you for your kind lesson!
    Greetings from germany!

    A very nice box. More UFO than airplane, very interesting take on 'winged'. I like this shape, but I might have like the 'onion dome' even better. Lovely grain in that wood. Thanks for another educational and entertaining video.

    I watched all four videos and learned from all of them. I liked all four winged boxes but I have to say I like your design and finished project the best. I like watching all of your videos and sure wish I had a light touch with the tools like you have.

    Very good challenge tommi. I liked lid with the longer point on it. But it still looks good.
    Great work and your tool control is fantastic.
    Both you and Richard have done a lot of work on teaching us all on how to use scrapers to advantage. Also I’m happy now using a scraper without being ground on top as well, negative rake scraper. They were always hard to get them really sharp.
    Thanks.

    Very nice - i did like it with the knob as it sort of brought more of an Asian feel to the piece - the piece sort of reminded me of a Japanese temple and the knob just felt like it belonged to me. Anyways, lovely work as usual and great explanation of the entire process. Thanks Tomislav. Jonathan

    What exactly makes it a refiner and not just a scraper

    • @tomislavtomasicwoodturning
      @tomislavtomasicwoodturning  หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      Its scraper, I just call it refiner so you might identify it once tool will be available for order, also name comes from shape of it and size and purpose that I use it for....and that is to refine the shape and surface....hope that helps 😀

    22:53 I was very uncomfortable when you reached your finger inside the box to remove chips. Especially since the tool rest was blocking a part of the opening. But I’m a newbie turner.

    Title says it all "what have I done!" We've all felt that way at one point or another! Doesn't matter what it is. It's a Tomislav Tomasic original.

  • @pigeonmanof180

    I‘m surprised to see the base rim (that fits in the lid recess) turned oval from round in such a short time. It must be that your Yew wasn’t dry enough when you started? What is your explanation? As always, i love to watch your skill and hear your thought process during the production of whatever piece you feature. Thanks for sharing.

    • @tomislavtomasicwoodturning
      @tomislavtomasicwoodturning  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is interesting but it was bone dry and wood has its stresses build in,some more some less.
      After few days its now again as it was,nice loose fit
      Sometimes it needs a bit of time to acclimate after turning

    • @tomislavtomasicwoodturning
      @tomislavtomasicwoodturning  หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, even at that speed it should be quick process, I would say that if it takes that long then surface when you start wasn't great
