Thank you very much sir, this went to a beautiful box, i was surprised, that the wings are flying, because i expected you to use them as feet, but those who can read properly will understand more 🙂 I learned a lot again, thank you for your kind lesson! Greetings from germany!
A very nice box. More UFO than airplane, very interesting take on 'winged'. I like this shape, but I might have like the 'onion dome' even better. Lovely grain in that wood. Thanks for another educational and entertaining video.
I watched all four videos and learned from all of them. I liked all four winged boxes but I have to say I like your design and finished project the best. I like watching all of your videos and sure wish I had a light touch with the tools like you have.
Very neat project and an interesting take on the month's challenge. I'm quite far behind on watching videos, so am catching up on the 4 ways projects from all of you.
Very good challenge tommi. I liked lid with the longer point on it. But it still looks good. Great work and your tool control is fantastic. Both you and Richard have done a lot of work on teaching us all on how to use scrapers to advantage. Also I’m happy now using a scraper without being ground on top as well, negative rake scraper. They were always hard to get them really sharp. Thanks.
Realy nice box i like it like the sap with the hart wood of course there isn't any thing you make it don't like. They all give me ideas and all look great
Very nice - i did like it with the knob as it sort of brought more of an Asian feel to the piece - the piece sort of reminded me of a Japanese temple and the knob just felt like it belonged to me. Anyways, lovely work as usual and great explanation of the entire process. Thanks Tomislav. Jonathan
Its scraper, I just call it refiner so you might identify it once tool will be available for order, also name comes from shape of it and size and purpose that I use it for....and that is to refine the shape and surface....hope that helps 😀
Great ideas and demonstration of skill and best practices - as always. Thank you! Any news on when the tools will be available on the website? (No rush , jsut curious). Please continue to share more of your work. Cheers!
22:53 I was very uncomfortable when you reached your finger inside the box to remove chips. Especially since the tool rest was blocking a part of the opening. But I’m a newbie turner.
I‘m surprised to see the base rim (that fits in the lid recess) turned oval from round in such a short time. It must be that your Yew wasn’t dry enough when you started? What is your explanation? As always, i love to watch your skill and hear your thought process during the production of whatever piece you feature. Thanks for sharing.
It is interesting but it was bone dry and wood has its stresses build in,some more some less. After few days its now again as it was, nice loose fit Sometimes it needs a bit of time to acclimate after turning
Fantastic small winged bowl! Your techniques and knowledge of how "timber" and tools behave is the best!!
Nice design and flow. It may be me but you seem more relaxed and comfortable turning on the new lathe.
Thank you, like I said in unboxing video, its like its build for me...I love it
Great design, looks great. I have learned so much from your videos keep it up. Thank you

Thinking outside the winged box!🙂🙂

Glad to hear that Greg, really appreciate your kind words 😀
Beautiful box tomislav something I'll definitely have to try,
Kind regards From Will 👍 😊
Thanks Will
Lots of character in that Yew. Beautiful box!
Take care, Dave
Thank you Dave😀
Beautiful work, Tomasic. I love Yew; the colour and texture and it’s nice to turn, too.
That's a beautiful piece.
I really like this design - looks great!!!!😃🙃

🕶very nice Tomislav. I really like the details and the proportions

I really enjoy watching you. I'm learning , but it also lets me know how far I have to go.. Your cuts are so clean.
Just practice and wood helps as well😀
Very nice, all the boxes are unique
Beautiful design i love it
Unique design for a winged box, a salute to the Raffan Citadel box! I like your tool control.
Thank you
Oh my what a beautiful job. Thank you Tomi.

Nicely done Tomislav. And I have learned a lot from you again.
Really glad to hear that 😀
Gorgeous, just gorgeous. Love it.
Thank you😀
For on the fly this design turned out great, off to see the other three.
very nice!!!
Very stylish! I almost thought the wings were going to be feet for the box.
wonderful work!!
Thanks Tomislav! very interesting and educational. I will have a go soon?
What exactly makes it a refiner and not just a scraper
Its scraper, I just call it refiner so you might identify it once tool will be available for order, also name comes from shape of it and size and purpose that I use it for....and that is to refine the shape and surface....hope that helps 😀
A TT Refiner refines the scrapes 😎🇱🇺🍺
@@tomislavtomasicwoodturning thank you it is what I was thinking but I just wanted to be sure
A born teacher, you have found your calling in life. When do the "Turn Like Tomi" books publish? 😊
😁😁 ufff I'm not much of a writer

I hope to open pre-order in week or soo, I'll announce it everywhere 😄thank you so much for interest
Very nice.

Indeed, don't do that...I do it to save time
Title says it all "what have I done!" We've all felt that way at one point or another! Doesn't matter what it is. It's a Tomislav Tomasic original.

Beautiful box. What are your thoughts on doing a burn line on the beads on the box and lid?
Good icda,I'm personally not a huge fan j
Of burning lines but if done nicely they can be really nice
Thanks Tomislav
Beautiful. Don't tell Richard or Mike but I like you design better than theirs 😊
😁😁Thank you
my lathe only goes 650 is that the reason i got to sand for a hour? dang your tools are sharp what wood is that
No, even at that speed it should be quick process, I would say that if it takes that long then surface when you start wasn't great
