What a brilliant video. Well done guys. There have only been a couple of times in my fishing life where I have had that sensation of being like a dog chasing a car with no plan of what to do if he catches it. When you hook something and think 'we're going to need a bigger boat'. To capture that in a video is wonderful.
I've never seen a sturgen that good looking as in not ugly. I caught a few stergin as a kid and they had spikes and bumps all over and they looked like something out of a bad dinosaur flick they were so ugly and weird, that i was like wtf. Now a days i don't see them to much, where i caught them in upstate ny. But i wonder what kind of sturgen i caught? it was brought with lots of spikes and bumps all over with some black dark brown spoting it didn't look like a fish but it was. Speaking of which i haven't seen mud puppies around my area in along time either. Which i use to catch all the time. I was interested in the video because i was curious if you could catch any fish with a fly rod, as in my area unless its just perch or rockbass or sunfish if youc atch a fish theirs a good chance its going to be big and i was interested in fly fishing someday.
Wicked video guys, this is awesome!! From the land of sturgeon, I've been trying to figure out how to get a Fraser River white sturgeon on a fly rod for awhile now!!
@@brodiejohnson1947 It's likely not a 200 pound fish but a 6' sturgeon could definitely be 150 lbs. 50 pounds is a ridiculous estimate by this mike brunson clown. That would be the weight of a 4 to 4.5 foot sturgeon.
Mikey B. You have no clue what you are talking about and have never caught a White Sturgeon before, obviously. The first fish was at least 100 lbs. more like about 120 I'd say. The second fish was at least 200 lbs. I have caught this fish from this spot and some of them go over 250 lbs. in there.
By far one of the coolest fly fishing videos I’ve ever watched! 👍🏻
Thank you Evan! The guys had so much fun filming it!
I’ve watched it 3 times now and still am bewildered that this is even real life.
I watch this video every few months and it never misses to wow me, such a incredible fishing trip

Never thought this would be possible 😄 Great video guys👍
You guys take ( having the gear and not needing it than needing it and not having it on a big new level ) thanks for sharing this congrars
Awesome video!
What fly patterns did you guys use & what tactics did you use? did you let the fly sit on the bottom & the sturgeon moved over the top?
Speccacolo 🤩🤩🤩
That’s incredible man. Congrats on a fish of a lifetime!
Awesome video, unreal!
Very cool fish, way to push the limits!

Mans colored his beard to match his hair
I got what I think was the same fish in the same spot this last Sept. Here is my video of it. th-cam.com/video/5tTP4wnjFp4/w-d-xo.html
No way did that sturgeon weigh 200 pounds. 6 ft sturgeon weighs around 50lbs....
Ralph Richter a 6 foot halibut isn’t that far over 220, sturgeon can’t be over 200.
A 6 ft sturgeon is always going to be well over 50 lbs. Most will be well over 100 lbs. www.riverfishingbc.com/WhiteStrugeonWeightandAgeChart.pdf
