I simply love these videos from POWER REPUBLIC! The "hobby" approach from a professional is appreciated! With these VID's anyone can do some DIY on their karts. I have installed the same JECKO into my DD2 and my son's new seat into his MICRO already. (note: in my Ricciardo DD2 the seat will not be in the middle) Keep on rocking! Greetings from Hungary!
Good video, but the first video was much better for a first timer like me, and it helped me a lot, cause it showes more how to set the distance on each side to get the right angle on the seat 👍
As always, great video! ;) Maybe you should make video about differences between various models of jecko seats? It would be nice to watch them and it would be very helpful!
I don't believe there is any variation in models currently...this one derrick has in the video is called the silver soft and I think is the only seat they are currently making. Prior to this the model before was called the close edge and had the different colour edges but they no longer make these I believe.
Clould you show how to mount this seat with the fast adjusters? I bought and ruined both trying to install them. You cant use a marker to mark the holes on the bottom of the seat and you cant see though it. My seat looked like swiss cheese and I ended up drilling from the top, unfortunately the bit went into thr fast adjuster which is super soft aluminum and it immediately ruined the threads.
Great video and perfect timing!!! Mounting our new Iamf H7 seats tomorrow (went Italian but the seat shape is going to be interesting since it's the same as Jecko). Can't wait for the rider feedback when we go back out driving this weekend!!! Thanks once again for providing these great videos and keep up the good work!!! /Robert.
thanks for the positive feedback Rob, and you are very welcome. Yeah its good to be back at the tracks again. Did you check out the Podcast we did with Nor Cal Karters last week?
Wow very comprehensive as always thank you! Just trying to fit my jecko D5 in a new CRG road rebel. The seat barely fits so I guess I cannot avoid opening up the sides with a hammer? Any detrimental effects on the chassis if you open up the sides?
This video helps a lot because i just brought a Go kart with a s100 engine The push start and changing it over to a 125cc But didn't realise the seat frame was for a junior And I am just a little bit to big for It so Without this video I would have Wested money Because I didn't know that we can bend the bars out a bit without breaking it
Great vid. again!!! Can you explain some more about front and back width maximum for kz drivers? Dry track race with stabis or not? I changed some things with my chassis but still have bad grip, going in curve and going out.
KZ problems are not really my speciality my friend. But if I have bad grip into and out of the corner (oversteer) then you could try - max rear width 1400mm - lifting the axle and dropping the rear ride height - maybe a softer axle - bigger long rear hubs
Very helpful as always, my son is in a Aluminos 950 chassis and he’s 150cm tall and is a top runner in Nz, by pushing the seat to the rear help with rotation into corners , and if I have time should I move the seat further back if it’s raining to help with under steer ? Cheers guys 🤜
I fitted my seat about a centimeter below the frame, and thinking of plating it with steel to prevent damage, alonge with skid protectors that are also fitted to my chassies. The part im not happy with is the 2 bolts also hang down that far and point forwards. Its sat on rubber mounts below the seat which raised it an inch, and that still leaves alot hanging out the bottom. I think i need to cut those bolts...
yeah a few guys use it and love it. we didn't like ours cause of tall skinny drivers. shorter drivers and kids love them. plus I reckon they look pretty RAD !!!
Hey again, first time owner, happy to have run my Intrepid Rok 100cc for first time, fantastic! At home, cleaning, admiring, noticed seat points to the right. The difference is 5/8 of an inch difference in gaps from right vs left taken from seat to a fixed point on chassis. I feel disappointed. Is it a big deal? To re drill holes holes so close together is not a good idea in my opinion. Thanks in advance!
the kart seats are sometime off set to the left of the kart (brake side) to compensate for the engine weight. don't stress, the guys that put it in probably knew what they were doing so until you have used it some more and have an idea of some problems you are having then I would leave it and focus on your tyres pressures
Power Republic is it normal for the seat to be “to the left “ I have looked on another website that tells to measure from the top left hand kingpin bolt . Do you only measure from the lhs . Is it normal for this measurement to be more than what arrow say as they use a lmaf silver seat which is slightly different . I’m assuming it’s to offset the engine weight on the right .
yeah its common, you can turn the airbag up vertical on its side to clear the seat. otherwise you will have to ground some of your seat away for it to fit
Hey Vince Not off the top of my head, plus I haven’t used that chassis in a few years. I would say at a guess 165mm from the axle to the spine of the swat
great question, we liked it, but our driver was too tall and skinny for the seat, his legs were above the leg supports and would slide around in the seat. so it wasn't the best seat for him. The VG are awesome seat and well proven. Put the Jecko in and see how it goes compared to you VG and write us back
Hey Lina, welcome back. mostly to do with size. if you are less than 6foot, then 635mm is a good start point. if you are taller than 6foot you have to move the seat back or the driver won't fit normally. Which kart and seat type are you fitting and how tall and heavy is your driver?
you can add a sprocket to the front edge of the seat to increase the angle. I am pretty sure we have a demo of that in our other seat videos if you want to see how we do it?
Right Derrick so here's my issues with these jecko seats, the placement is always an issue and then has you turning your brand new expensive seat into swiss cheese. The official seat chart from jecko only references the distance from the back of the seat to the axle perpendicularly... I can see from your video you had that seat at 130mm if you measure it the way jecko say to. A distance of 130mm corresponds to what they say is the "senior" placement but you said in your video you were mounting this seat for a "tall" driver, which means if I'd followed jeckos chart and put this seat there it'd be way to far back for an average height senior driver like me. To me this alone is a huge turn off when considering the jecko.
fair enough, I haven't been able to get to the track to test it out against the Tony Kart seat, so I can't really give you the first hand feedback yet. the seat position is always going to be a compromise depending on your body size and weight. I think with new guys without the prior experience can start in the 'standard' recommended position. guys with more experience can make a more informed decision where to put their seat.
Kart in Passion it is popular but only in big Teams that race Wsk, european Championship and world Championchip. For example parolin, Kart Republic and some otk Teams use it

thank you. please enjoy the vids!
They are the best seat ever. I had mine for 4 months now. I highly recommend these seats.
Thanks for the feed back, can't wait for the tracks to open again so we can let it rip!
It needs padding and a cover...
@@christianbuczko1481 yeah the padding will top it off just noice
Great Video now how about weights best spots to put weight on the kart and how to affix.
Great suggestion!
Excellent video. The editing and content keep on getting better and better
Thanks mate for the positive feedback. please share the vids with all the new comers to the sport in your area.

yeah that was for the Tony Kart seat in a Tony Kart. The Gecko seats a similar. Hopefully you now know 2 different ways to fit the seat.

yeah cut them back so that there is only a few threads out the back of the nut
What about drivers position, comfort, reach. Think I would prefer driver in the seat for feedback.
very good point. set your seat for your driver
Did you test this seat with OTK chassis? Does it works well with OT, or standart OTK seat works better?

yeah it will stop your legs from flopping outwards but not crashing into the fuel tank and fuel tank uprights

high grip or when the kart is hopping too much
