did anyone notice when they started playing the first verse of the marines hymn you can see the feet of the royal marines go to attention
It's the whole combined bands changing from stand at ease to stand easy when the US Marine hymns plays
Good eye
Great catch, upper left corner, ~0:25.
The commandant, sitting in the Dias, naturally came to attention at the hymn. The rest of the Dias stood with the commandant out of courtesy. The entire field came to attention for the royal in the Dias.
A father always respects his son.
I love that song, My grandfather was a Marine and now my grandson is a Marine. I couldn't be prouder.
a hug from Brazil
Semper Fi !
Marines playing the marine hymn.
Nothing bests it.
It's actually a mission statement.
History.
What we do .
Because of the above
We are proud to be called a marine
I'm an ex-British Air Force civilian instructor, and The Marines' Hymn even makes me emotional.
May God bless our US marines. Semper Fi. I could listen to this forever
God bless the USMC. “No better friend, no worse enemy”
Cheers to your cousins across the pond 🇬🇧!!!!!🍻. From Milwaukee Wisconsin 🧀 🇺🇸.
Notice how the band is small. And the others like wtf. Semper Fidelis. Few the proud the Marines
The band is small because it was a British ceremony, just with a small detachment of Marine bands from the US and I think the other was the Netherlands. So the US and the Netherlands had a smaller band, whereas the Royal Marines, as it is their ceremony, took centre stage with the largest massed bands.
Done other things in life, but being a US Marine always stands out, not everyone understands why
And they won’t. Once a Marine Always a Marine! Oorah! Semper Fi!
I'm so proud that our American marines got the chance to show our British allies that we will always be their brothers in arms.
I'll bet that caused a few folks in the audience to choke up a bit, and struggle to hold back tears of emotion.
I love this tune. This is how I see the Americans like I see the British when they play the British grenadiers
I love playing The Marine’s Hymn in my school band for Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day
Sound of freedom.
As a proud mother of a retired Marine and the grandmother of a current Marine, this brings tears to my eyes.
Wonderfull! Or as the BBC would say: "Können wir das bitte lassen"
Greetings from Frankfurt.

God Bless the Marine Corp.
God bless the Marine Corp. I love you.
Long, Long Ago, the Corps. demonstrated that anything worth doing, is worth doing with excellence. Let all of the enemies of our beloved country, both foreign and domestic, know this, the Corps. still believes this. Semper Fi...
Always brings tears to my eyes... former Marine.
always a marine

"Signature tune"?? It's *THE* hymn of the Marines.
You can also hear this tune to the march of the us army and us air force, that's why it is also called a signature tune
@@leonardwaga okay
@@leonardwaga yh when there's a armed forces medley but this is the marine corps anthem
I mean signature means the same thing doesn't the same which everyone associates with the us marines. It's a bit like Brits getting hot under the collar when yanks call the prime minister the premier, it doesn't really make any odds
@@leonardwagaWhat??? Three COMPLETELY different marches.
Semper Fi to U.S. MARINE CORPS
i love how everyone on parade is at attention to this hymn
Served 20 years as a Navy Corpsman, 6 years with the Marines during Vietnam Nam era. The toughest and best years.
Navy has great band. Our daughter retired from the navy 2 years ago🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸😊😊😊
In 1942 the 1st Marine Division was in Australia prior to the invasion of Guadalcanal. As the marines were marching to the docks to board the troop ships, the Australia band was playing Waltzing Matilda. It became a 1st Marine Division tradition to play Walzing Matilda everytime the divison deploys overseas.
USMC......Semper Fidelis
Deus nosso Senhor Eterno abençoe os fuzileiros!!!

I'M IN THE US ARMY, WATCHING THIS PRESENTATION, I'M REALLY PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN SOLDIER. AMAZING PERFORMANCE REALLY PROUD ON THIS MARCHING BAND HOOOOAAAAH, HOOORAAAAHH.
Not a soldier a Marine!
I've never seen such discipline. This is absolutely insane.
Semper Fi.
If the Army and the Navy ever look on heavens scenes;
They will find the streets are guarded by United States Marines!!
Donald trump you DDMF where are you at?
also i dont see it they are playing it for themselves, i see that it is being played for every single marine on parade retired and serving
Yes my Husband was in the MARINES from 1970 to1973 he passed away on October 2 2019
I am so sorry to hear of your husband's passing. The Marine Corps lives forever, that means your husband lives forever! Semper Fidelis!
US Drill movements are bizarre to British eyes.
Band Major marching BACKWARDS, and the general strange “mincing walk’ rather than a military quick march !

My great grandpa (passed from cancer after Vietnam after somehow surviving being stabbed as a medic) and my great uncle were and still are marines. I feel pride just by hearing this hymn, which is funny because I want to join the Army Honor Guard (or just any honor guard). SEMPER FI BROTHERS!
I don’t want to sound dumb, but is this the US Marines band or is this the Royal Marines band?
They are US Marines -- the 2nd Marine Division band.

I'm wondering why out all of the Marine Bands. why the 2nd Marine Division Band, I would have personally have asked the Commandants own to show up
That would have broke the Commandant's Own, considering their schedule, and their work on "set pieces" for the entire season. This was extraordinarily hard to pull off, meshing with other field bands. My eye says it took 3 months music and marching practice, while keeping their normal schedule. A field band was the right call, but I would have done a composite of 100 vice 50 musicians. Basically adding the Cherry Point band to 2nd Marine Division. But....you don't want to show up your host, either.
@@gunnyd8135 a similar thing was done back in 2017 when the MarForPac band went to china for the nanchang international tatoo. It just makes more sense for a field band to attend as it took a fair bit of our schedule to get prepared for the tattoo.
@@gunnyd8135 They also had to have a field band the same size of the Netherland's Marine band, who you can maybe just about see on the right to the Royal Marines. If they had different size bands flanking each side, it's just look awkward and weird, and it'd ruin a lot of the practiced manoeuvres that required almost-perfect symmetry.
Gives me goose bumps every time I see them.
