    I was signing up for a Costco membership today and while I was standing at the counter, somehow Menopause popped up and well...I started talking about you and all the information you give us. Before I knew it, there were 5 women standing around me asking me questions and for your information! I’m your menopause poster child HAHAHAHAHH!

    I just had my obgyn appt, and was told I've entered menopause. I got no help. It was strange. No mention of helping me with my loss of estrogen. I'm calling them, now, after watching your video. I need estrogen!

    I just popped over after watching Angie's (Hot and Flashy) latest video regarding her menopause journey, and man am I glad I did! This information is gold! I've only recently began noticing menopausal symptoms, specifically memory loss and mental fogginess, and thought I was losing my mind. I have my annual OBGYN visit this month, so I'll be addressing the question of HRT moving forward. I, thankfully, do not have hot flashes, sleep issues or night sweats, or other physical symptoms associated with menopause, but the brain fog scares me. I've been on Mirena for almost ten years, so I wonder if progesterone has masked some of the other symptoms...? Anyway, this video is amazing and incredibly helpful. Thank you so very much for sharing!

    1- a plant based diet
    2- exercise
    3- hormone replacement treatment

      If you’d like a more efficient delivery of this menopause education, you should (1) Get my book, or (2) Watch the webinars, or (3) Watch the DVD entitled Your Menopause Your Way. They all give you the complete education without the fluff of the videos.
      My goal is to meet the needs of all women, regardless of their learning style, and regardless of their command of the English language. Many of my viewers speak English as a second, third, or fourth language. You may not care about them, but I do.
      I am the only person providing a complete and unbiased education on menopause. So, I’m trying to serve the needs of all women. I’m sorry I haven’t serve yours well. But I think one of the other options listed above will.

    Revolutionary. It is a crime that doctors don't pass on this information to their female patients in their 40s. For years, I complained to my family doctor about fatigue, hair loss, brain fog. I was told it's probably menopause, but was never offered any management options. Worse, I was never told that it's important to look to hormones to manage long term disease risks. Is that not a disgrace to the medical profession? Truly shocking. Dr. B, if I do a consult with you, what blood tests and other medical records would you need to optimize the consultation?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have a consultation with me, I will explain why the state of affairs with regard to menopause is as it is. And I will present ALL your options. Plus, I will explain all the benefits of taking HRT, all the risks of taking HRT, and all the risks of NOT taking HRT. You will have all the facts to make excellent decisions about your menopause management.
      You will be able to tell me all about yourself and submit any test results you wish for me to take into account. None are mandatory.
      The only tests fo importance are:
      Bone density results
      Mammogram results
      PERTINENT labs, primarily cholesterol & lipid studies, Thyroid labs
      I DO NOT need reproductive hormone levels.
      I look forward to helping you.

    I've just discovered you lately, Dr. Barbie, and have been watching your videos like a madwoman. Finally just went ahead and ordered your book and have devoured it! I've been watching in sequence but today, out of curiosity, I skipped ahead to #77 and this video and BAM! Suddenly it's all become crystal clear. I think this may be your most important video. I also think you should take your seminars on a world tour. You would pack stadiums and arena's ;) I would LOVE to attend one. Thank you for being invested in doing this good work. And you do it in such a fun, warm and engaging way!

      I give the seminar only twice a year. It knocks your socks off, but it also does a number on my severely arthritic body. Please come to one soon. (The next one is September 22 & 23). I have eight 6-foot tables full of props and models, little boobies for you to feel, prizes, and more than you can imagine. But I don't travel with it. My body can't take it.
      I do have the seminar on DVD, and am currently converting it into webinar form. That way, women can have access to it no matter where they are. I'm trying to provide every educational service to every woman, no matter what her budget, learning style, or timeline. It's all on my website" MenopauseTaylor.ME.

    I watch Angie on Hot n Flashy snd was directed here! Wow!!! I’m so happy I saw this! I’m 45 years old. Had a partial hysterectomy 6 years ago (still have ovaries). I’ve been having hot flashes, night sweats, brain fog, tired all the time, etc for well over a year. I just had blood work done and my numbers came back saying I was right on the verge of being post menopausal. I decided well I made it through, I don’t need to do HRT! Until I saw your video. I’m now starting over and watching through them all!

      Shana,

      But the rampant denial and ignorance of menopause is just ridiculous. And, unfortunately, it's life-threatening.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH. I am 1 year into menopause and today I went to speak with my Dr about estrogen therapy. She put me on a low dose of .5 MG of Estradiol daily but warned me of my increase risk of breast and uterine cancer and told me to take it as short as I can. I came out of office scared to death and thought I would research it some more. I am so happy to have found you. You make total sense and is the expert. After watching all your videos I learned that the benefit out ways the risk. I also learned that the dosage she put me on is not beneficial. Many do not even exercise, but most are vegetarian but not vegan.....just wondering because I know most women outlive men, but many do without the hormones....I also have not seen much of Alzheimer's in the Indian culture....more heart disease and cancer than anything else...thank you for this info - def eye opening!

    Special thanks for this video.
    I found information that the lack of estrogen reduces the incidence of schizophrenia and delays the possible development of Parkinson's disease by several years, and that HRT has a beneficial effect on the skin. This translates into better hydration, less frequent inflammatory changes and a decrease in the incidence of some dermatological diseases.

    Yes, I'm shocked about the heart attack. I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago with no HRT. Just last month I went to the Dr. feeling terrible and asked him for HRT and he reluctantly wrote a prescription. He said well I'll give it to you for 90 days. By the way I'm 56.

      Linda,
      Please, please, please have a consultation with me. You will benefit so much.
      Here's how a consultation works:
      1) You would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for you. I do consultations on Skype, FaceTime. Facebook Messenger, What’s App, and the phone.
      2) I would send you an email to confirm that you are scheduled for the stated time, and invite you to send me as much information about yourself as you please. You can make it brimming with details and tell me about your reproductive life, any gynecologic problems you've had, your symptoms of peri-menopause, and your symptoms of post-menopause. You can include all your fears, concerns, and goals for your menopause management. You may also send me any labs, mammogram results, bone density results, etc. that you would like me to include in designing your protocol. If you want to adhere to a certain category of management options (herbs or diet & lifestyle, or whatever), you should tell me that. I will give you a 5-day deadline for sending all materials, and will not accept anything after that date.
      3) I'll get busy creating a document that gives you all the education you need to understand absolutely everything, points out the pros and cons of each option, and tailors it all to YOU, using the information you have provided. The document will be loooooong. Most are over 30 pages.
      4) I will send you the document by email 72 hours before your consultation. You will benefit greatly by reading it in advance. Light bulbs will go off like crazy, and if you're like most women, you'll feel that you've already gotten your money's worth.
      5) During your consultation, we will review the document and address any issues you want in order to fine tune everything and determine your best options. I'll tell you exactly how to find the right kind of professional, how to have the conversation in order to get what you want, and the nuances of things like guidelines and insurance. I leave nothing unaddressed.
      6) You will go to a professional of your choosing in order to get the actual hormones or whatever you choose to use.
      7) After the first consultation, I'll hold your hand (forever if you want me to). In other words, you'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever you need to. I'll keep records of your situation. Most women schedule mini-consultation whenever they go to the doctor and don't understand what he or she said, or why. I translate. I make sense of everything. Most schedule mini-consultation whenever they have a new test and they want me to explain the results. And all schedule mini-consultation whenever their situation changes and they need to re-weigh and re-balance their options.
      The time you spend with me will make everything about working with any other professional so easy. And they will love the fact that you have an actual education rather than a bunch of misconceptions that you got from the Internet. If your initial hormone regimen is not right, you'll want to consult with me before going to your doctor. I can prepare you for what to expect and what to request.
      So, that's my role. And nobody else on earth does this kind of thing but me. So, I hope you schedule a consultation and let me hold your hand (figuratively).
      I hope to meet you soon!

    Thank you so much for your videos they are keeping me company as I convalesce from surgery. I was commenting last month about how I was having a hysterectomy for endometrial cancer I'm not sure if you remember me, anyway… It went well! The surgery was fine turned out the endometrial cancer was stage one so no chemo or radiation. So happy. At the doctor's post-up meeting a week ago, I asked straight away about when I can go on estrogen and he said 1 to 2 years! I am only 46 and a little bit worried about having two years of no estrogen, especially the Estrogen Window and Alzheimer's Disease! I will do what the oncologist said though because he described it as sprinkling garden grow onto cancer and I have to be out of the woods completely before hrt.I will ask him every checkup ha, and about SERMS. I'm skinny fit and love my eggs and cheese so vegan would be so hard- thanks for the vid with ideas for alternatives.

    I've watched a ton of your videos. This one is particularly good/important/well-delivered. Wow. What is wrong with our health industry? Guess the answer is easy: it pays to keep us sick and out of touch. Any other deficiency state, we address. Yet somehow, with estrogen, we're supposed to just ride it out, thinking that's the "natural way."

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not at all "natural." We humans are supposed to die at about age 47. But, because of all our medical & scientific advances, we are now outliving our ovaries and spending a full half of our lives in the state of menopause. Other animals do not have menopause.

    Your outfit is so beautiful! Yes I am disgusted that nobody but you is teaching us this! My hubby is very grateful to you hew got the most out of this video ! I was having terrible heart palpitations for a few years the Estradiol/Climara patch and Taurine supplements has kind of stopped palpitations.
    I got my heart checked there was no problem at the time and that was in 2016. My hubby says I am more myself with the patch! It drives me nuts that all anyone I hear say about menopause is the hot flashes which I never got 4 years into menopause.
    I think it is a form of denial. My last full time job was as a ladies gym manager. Those menopausal women would come in in the winter at 20 degrees while I am freezing my yams off and ask for the air conditioner! They would gang up on me too! They loved me but not the fact that I wanted them to sweat LOL! They act a little insane with the hot flashes!
    It took me so long to get the Climara. Every doctor I spoke to said I was crazy. My primary care doctor said ti was too "radical"
    But I am so glad I started taking it! Thank you for the informative video!

Estrogen compensation now seems more important than I've ever been led to understand before. Just have to find one that works for you. So many women have been scared out of trying to balance and compensate for hormone losses that many end up missing the 5-10 year window of opportunity. It ought not be so.

    As much as I would like to believe your statistics about how many women die from heart attacks, I do not know one woman in my whole lifetime (64) who has had a heart attack, let alone died from one..... but far too many to count who have died from cancer....mostly breast cancer. I think I am one of those who have avoided HRT because of the fear of breast cancer. I do have osteoporosis and would like to address that through estrogen but would love a natural way to do that....hopefully future videos will address that? I love your common sense approach to health...

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'll address everything, Donna.
      Please don't let the women you know make you doubt the statistics. These are the facts. Don't let fear take the place of facts.
      Many women who die of heart attacks and "sudden cardiac death." They have no history of heart disease. They don't even know the symptoms of heart attack in a woman (which are completely different from those of a man).
      The fact is that your chances of dying from a heart attack are 8 times that of your chances of dying from breast cancer.
      As for osteoporosis, what do you mean by the word "natural." If you watch video 22, you'll see that people define that word differently. Depending on what it means to YOU, there are a variety of options in every category for managing osteoporosis.
      We won't get to the topic of osteoporosis in detail for quite some time. You would benefit by getting this information now. For that, I can offer you (1) My two-day seminar on February 10 & 11, (2) The DVD of the seminar, available from my website (MenopauseTaylor.ME), or (3) My menopause book, also available from my website (MenopauseTaylor.ME. You might also enjoy the articles I have on my website.
      Please don't let only the diseases among your own circle of friends create a barrier for you. I have absolutely no reason to give you anything but facts. I'm not selling any product, just education. Please let me know how I might help you. That's my goal.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  7 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Don't despair, Cindy.
      What you do is address how to reduce the risk of each disease:
      For preventing a heart attack, you can accomplish almost all your goals by eating a plant-based diet (as close to 100% plant-based as possible), exercising regularly, maintaining ideal weight, practicing good dental hygiene, refraining from smoking, and getting all your vitamins & minerals.
      For preventing osteoporosis, you can use a SERM, practice balance exercises, exercise regularly, maintain ideal weight, limit your caffeine & soft drinks, & take calcium & magnesium.
      For preventing Alzheimer's, you can avoid processed foods, take lecithin, exercise regularly, and challenge your mind with learning new things (studying languages, going to school, learning to play an instrument, etc.)
      I have a slide chart on my website (MenopauseTaylor.ME) that you can buy. It helps you narrow your best options for reducing your risks for all these diseases.
      Keep watching, Cindy. You'll see that there's always a way to accomplish your goals.

    what about sleep?
    I’ve been struggling with sleeplessness for almost 10 years. I wake up very early in the morning no matter what time I go to bed. I wake up every 2 to 3 hours and have trouble falling back asleep as well. I walk around like a zombie almost all the time because of this, I am 53.
    My gynecologist has acknowledged that sleep is very important to my health. I have tried lifestyle, changes, supplements, sleep medications, and all kinds of things to solve that problem with limited success.

    I was in shock that as I brought up the subject of my menopause at our women’s bible study last week out of the 7 of us 5 women suffer from incontinence, and have for years! They just accept that normal. They are deathly afraid of estrogen, even afraid to talk about it! Not saying that is indeed their issue but sounds as though it very well could be. I have suggested they watch your videos numerous times but as I said earlier it seems like such a scary topic to many women. I worry they are not well informed and have made choices dictated by fear): I’m slowly trying to pass on the wisdom I am gleaning from your videos(;
    thank you again Dr. Taylor for all you do!
    Dr. Taylor, I also wanted to ask your opinion on something if you feel comfortable answering. I am 48 years old, had a hysterectomy due to fibroids 4 years ago, I am experiencing many symptoms of menopause and recently started estradiol orally. At what dosage would you start me out or think would be the optimal dose at which I should be?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Deborah,
      The minimal necessary dosage of estradiol is 1 mg / day.
      Here are the minimal necessary dosages of estrogen to accomplish prevention of heart attack, osteoporosis, and Alzheimer's Disease, depending on the type of estrogen you're taking:
      Conjugated Estrogen 0.625 mg / day
      Estradiol 1.0 mg / day
      Estradiol Patches 0.5 mg / day
      Estropipate 1.25 mg / day
      Esterified Estrogen 0.625 mg / day
      Ethinyl Estradiol 0.01 - 0.015 mg / day depending on the source of the estrogen
      Compounded Bi-Est or Tri-Est 2.5 mg / day
      You'll want to watch videos 80 - 90 when they air.
      Oh, and the younger you are the higher the dosage you'll need. If you're just peri-menopausal, you probably WILL NOT be relieved of your symptoms with dosages designed for women much older than you are. That's why birth control options are so popular for women during peri-menopause. Birth control dosages of estrogen and progesterone are much nigher than the ones in HRT.
      I hope this helps!

    Once again you have opened my eyes! Thank you so much for that. The medical media has instilled fear of estrogen....... why???? What is the purpose??? There must be one. Fear is a hard thing to overcome, your videos have dealt these misconceptions a devastating blow. I'm so happy that my 40 year old daughter is learning from you, she can now avoid these pitfalls. Thank you again.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, Janice, the Alternative & Complementary world has instilled the fear of estrogen, even though (and precisely because) they don't dispense estrogen. They promote progesterone as a "safe" alternative (which is absolutely not the truth). The medical community has had to respond to the fear of estrogen.
      As I'll be teaching you, the WHI (Women's Health Initiative) Study in 2001 magnified the fear of estrogen a million times. And it was the lay media who presented the "facts" but only reported half of them. When you learn the real facts from me, it's going to make your blood boil.
      For instance, the reported that "HRT for menopause increased the risk of a blood clot 100 times."
      Here's the whole truth: HRT was given to women, average age 63 (not the average age of symptomatic menopausal women). The study included 10,000 women.
      Without HRT, 8 women (out of 10,000) had a blood clot.
      With HRT, 16 women (out of 10,000) had a blood clot. That's a 100% increase!
      But, does the 16 instead of 8 OUT OF 10,000 alarm you as much as the "100% increase" language does?
      So, now we've got a whole population of women who forfeited their opportunity to take estrogen because of their fear ... all because they didn't get the whole story.
      I don't promote any one particular management style. But I do promote the truth. You deserve to know all the facts and decide for yourself what's best for you.
      I'm so glad you're with me on this journey to make things better for women everywhere.

    I’m not sure about the Alzheimer’s estrogen loss connection..why do so many men get Alzheimer’s then? Same with hardening of the arteries..my dad had a massive stroke at the age of 53 due to HBP and arteriosclerosis. I don’t quite understand the role of estrogen loss in these diseases that are also very common in men.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The main reason people get Alzheimer's is that we get lazy ... in terms of using our brains. Both men and women are guilty.
      And, as for your being "unsure" about the estrogen and Alzheimer's issue, that's not a matter of opinion. It's a fact that has been born out in many studies.
      Men have heart attacks, too. And when you see the long list of risk factors that contribute to a heart attack, you'll see that there is a lot more to it than just estrogen.
      Doubt all you want. But, do you really want to take a chance with doubting these things when all you have to do is avoid them in the first place?
      Never substitute what you've witnessed in your little circle of family and friends for statistics that take the entire population into account.

    Hi Dr. Taylor!
    As usual, another super informative tutorial! I am so, so thankful to have your knowledge base and insight to help guide me through this next phase in my life. The statistic on heart attacks was a mind blower for sure and although scary, it is important to know and be aware of. My gynecologist put me on the CombiPatch (.05mg/.14mg) last July. Is the amount of estradiol in this patch (.05mg - 2 patches/week) sufficient to compensate for my natural loss of estrogen (I miss my sweet estrogen so, so much!)? The other dosage option for the CP is .05mg/.25mg, but the estradiol level remains the same. Thank you again for your generous spirit!!!!

    I just saw my gyno yesterday. I am not in menopause currently. I’m 45 and have been on progesterone for a few years. I let her know yesterday how fatigued and irritable I’ve been. She immediately said she wanted to start me in a high dose of estrogen, but start tapering off over 5 years. According to her, after 5 years the risk of breast cancer is greatly increased. This really makes me nervous. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. Also, she told me to just quit the progesterone.

    Hey Dr Taylor! Love you and your videos!
    Not sure if you answer questions but thought I would ask!
    I ate a vegan diet for 4 years. I am very active, teaching strong yoga practices and resistance training.
    My energy was really depleted and I was finding my post exercise recovery was poor. I saw my acupuncturist for a series of treatments and she suggested I eat a small amount of meat and fish. She usually recommends a vegan diet too but said that because our winter season (in Canada) is so long and harsh, a little meat helps the body.
    Would you agree with that? Or do you think that just messes up the proper balance?
    I'm wondering how I can sustain my energy without it. I know there are a ton of factors, so I'm just wondering what you hypothetically think about it! 🙏💕

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Denise,
      There are no hypotheticals here. And no one's opinion matters, either.
      What does our BODY say? Your own body's opinion is the only one that matters.
      We humans have a tendency to listen to everyone and everything except our own bodies. But your body does not lie. So, do an experiment: Eat meat for about 2 weeks and see how you feel. If you feel better, that's your body telling you it needs the meat. If you don't feel better or you feel worse, that's your body telling you it doesn't need the meat.

      Consider having a consultation with me. I'll help you tailor all the information in my videos specifically to YOU. That's what counts.
      I'm in the business of educating you about everything you need to know and do in order to get exactly what you want for managing your menopause your way. So, here's how a consultation works:
For instance, if you want to adhere to a certain category of management options (herbs or diet & lifestyle, or whatever), you should tell me that. I will give you a deadline for sending all materials, and will not accept anything after that date.
      3) I'll get busy creating a document that gives you all the education you need to understand absolutely everything, points out the pros and cons of each option, and tailors it all to YOU, using the information you have provided. The document will be loooooong. Most are over 30 pages.
      4) I will send you the document by email 48 hours before your consultation.
In other words, you'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (15-minute or 30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever you need to.

    Dr. Berg on TH-cam, advises against all forms of synthetic hormone replacement… ie. estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, synthroid, etc.
    He says it’s harmful for the glands that those hormones are supposed to come from and not to mention the side effects on your liver, and other organs of synthetic hormones.
    How can you get those hormones any other way?
    You can’t really unless you eat mountains of phytoestrogens, etc every single day.
    Either you go without synthetic hormones or you go on them, but there are pros and cons either way.
