In an era full of 1000 dollar builds, it's a blessing to see a fresh solid 100 dollar build, always love budget builds. Keep up the work bro, you are doing great 👍🏻
Optiplex upgrades are great to do for beginners as they're cheap with a good upgrade path. I ideally like the full size case (with the 6th gen i7) as it makes installing the GPU so much easier and DDR4 ram is that bit quicker. The smaller cases sometimes require a low profile card which are a pain to buy for a sensible price.. Graphics cards are still expensive in the UK, on ebay anyway, with an RX580 going for £75 up and the 1660 super is a bit more. I wouldn't want to use lower than a 1050Ti especially for modern games.
I just did a similar build for my son with an i5-4690, 16GB of ram, a 1TB 7200 HDD, a 500GB Crucial SSD, a cooler master 650w bronze PSU and a 1050Ti. Under GB£175 for the whole build🤣 and he thinks it's great although you have to drop the settings for AAA games. The upgrade path is also fairly good GPU wise even if CPU upgrades are a little limited.
Hello the Best CPU upgrade is the xeon e3 1270 v3. I builted with my son a week ago,and its amazing I dropped my rtx 2060 ín IT and it runned really well,so I dropped another GPU in it From my "working pc" a rtx 4070 and it bottlenecked but still runned well like games, gta 5 4k with some graphics mods with around 45-ish FPS. I really liked your comment,Your son and you must have tó be really good persons! ❤❤❤❤ From Czech,Germany.
That processor will bottle neck at any GPU better than the 1050ti. There's no point in upgrading the GPU if you're going to keep the same CPU in there.
@@johnl5753 He never said he was going to keep the same CPU, he said the upgrade path is limited. Something like a 4790k would be a decent upgrade and would allow for a better GPU.
I picked up a Gateway with no OS and no HDD for $25. It had 8GB RAM and an i3 2100. I installed a i7 2600 I pulled out of an Optiplex a few months ago. Slapped in a 1050ti. Its a budget beast. 4 cores and 8 thread is still great for 1080p low to medium settings.
I think the better storage option would be buying a 1tb NVMe or SSD instead of having a 256gb SSD + 1tb HDD as the prices are much more affordable these days, also games are now requiring you to have a SSD for them to be even playable without having stuttering issues during gameplay. 1tb SSDs are highly recommended for this kind of setup.
If you can spend a little more cash, i for sure recommend going all ssd such as a 1tb. I do still think an extra 1 tb hard drive is a fine option on a budget. I had not heard of games stuttering due to being loaded on a hard drive. Do you know what games have that issue?
@@WWTech12 For example Forza horizon 5, However, There could be many more. It would say something like 'low streaming bandwidth' and stutter during gameplay. Once I upgraded to a NVME, That issue was resolved. It's only going to worsen for newer titles so a cheap 1tb SSD is still going to be a worthy investment than going the route of a 'hybrid' setup. You can also find some SSDs for the same price as buying both the SSD and HDD combo. If you're someone who is mainly focused on older titles and having a huge library of games to play, A HDD is going to be perfect for you but for someone who's playing competitive games and newer titles, it's better to get that SSD.
optiplex 990 with a dell 1660 super. stock psu and been running it for 3 years gaming hard. have a couple benchmarks on my channel but the i5 3570 is bottlenecking so bad. Recommend a cpu upgrade. What im saving for now but i love optiplex builds!!!
Been watching a few of your videos now man! awesome content and keep up the good work! glad to be your 200th sub before you blow up! support from New Zealand!
i just did the similar build too!!. but my gpu is Brand new. the cost here in my country is around 200usd (13000 philippine peso).. 80usd for cpu (Hp slim type with ram and Hdd) 160usd for Gtx1650 Low profile... and Overall I dont REGRET building it because of the Minimal power consumption!
I paid like $85 for a dell prebuilt with i5-8400 12gb ddr4 and 128gb m.2 ssd bought a 512gb ssd and a gtx 1650 on eBay’s and it’s not a bad build I bought the 1650 with a 6 pin and prebuilt office pc’s don’t really have 6 pin connecter so I had to buy sum scetchy sata to 6 pin thought it would catch on fire buy now but it’s still going strong been about a yyear now
For you the gtx 1650 will be a good amount more expensive since you have an sff pc you will need the sff gtx 1650. Prices on those I believe range from 80-180. Prices on low profile 6400s range from about 70-130. Also with the video on the 7010, would you like to see it as is with a gtx 1650 added, or do a power supply swap and add a higher end gpu?
@@WWTech12 thks, today i got a deal on a rx6400 for 80, im pretty happy with it tho :) Abou the video, the last option seems nice, i want to see the psu swap and push the limits with a higher end gpu!
Love your videos. You said that you buy your computers from Facebook. How do you protect yourself from getting cheated when you're buying a computer on Facebook?
I stay away from sellers who refuse to meet in person to exchange the item for the money. If anyone says they only ship and they're local to where you live then that should raise a red flag. I bought a PC from OFFERUP in March of 2023 for $300 and met in person to make the exchange. I got an i7 8700k, ASUS GTX 1060 6GB, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, a Corsair H100i 240mm AIO cooler, and the case which is a Kediers C570 open air with 7 RGB fans.
@@stormfriendscrew3559 The rx580 requires more power than the 1650 and would not work well with the power supply that is in this computer. Also they don’t make an rx580 that only works with motherboard power. The psu in this pc does not have an extra 6 or 8 pin connector, which is why i went with a card that does not require external power.
I have a hp i3 9100 8gb ram and 180w . I want to add a gpu but i dont know which one for under 100$ is good for it with out needing to upgrade anything but the ram , any suggestions?
if it’s an hp prebuilt i will assume that it doesn’t have an extra 6 or 8 pin connector from the power supply. i would recommend a 1050ti, rx560 4gb, or gtx 1650 if you can find it for under 100. 1650 i think is the best option.
If you upgrade your ssd you can transfer all your data to this new ssd. if your starting fresh you can download the free version of windows then get a cheap windows key to get rid of the watermark if you need.

can u give the links for the products?
Do you do optimizations ( changing the config Files, or changing some windows settings ) to the pc’s before testing them ?
i do not. I have seen some settings on laptops that can be changed for better performance due to them having to be plugged in and charged.
Nice!
just wondering, how well would this setup work for minecraft vanilla or with performance enhancing mods
it should work well for Minecraft but sorry i really dont know much about shaders and mods for Minecraft
