Tip: I live in the middle east so real gold/silver/precious gems are lot more accessible to me, when we see designer jewelry that’s way too pricy and not even real, we just take a pic and get them made so they have the name/design but are worth way more and wont tarnish etc
Jade called me out. I am known for having my outfit revolve around my sneaker. I’ll literally throw on the most basic ass outfit but my sneakers are fire. I’ve been doing this since middle school. I want to try the name less or ambiguous style more. I appreciate this because it will test my actual style and not just my ability to buy a “hyped” sneaker
I want to get more into focusing on sneakers, because I have Loud shoes but they're not... fire? Definitely increasing the intention and focus on my fits. Thank yoooouuuuu. also playing with proportions would be fun but damn i'm so close to the ground i'm so scared to look like i fell out my dad's closet
Great tips, as usual. I appreciate your perspectives on style. I decided that the 2 things I wanted to do with my style was play with texture (faux leather, satin/silk, mesh, open knits) and extreme lengths (short crops, duster long vests and jackets - I'm lucky enough to be tallish). So this video made me feel like I'm on point, lol. 👍 BTW, I've found mesh knits are a great way to add texture in warm months without adding more heat. You can layer mesh tops over graphic tees, or layer mesh vests under jackets. And there are a variety of mesh styles from fine knit sheers, to fishnet, wide net, crochet. I've also found Etsy to be a good source for interesting quality jewelry at an affordable price, especially if you keep an eye out for sales.
Yes, so many great points made in this one Jade! I am part of the shorty-do-wap no-logo gang. I can attest to the fact that although my coats can’t go below my knees in order to not look swallowed up by my clothes, long coats make such a statement for those that can pull them off. I also never wear logos and totally agree that its so liberating being able to know that the silhouette of the pieces I wear speak for themselves and act with themselves!
i’d say start with looking in the mirror and seeing the different features of your body - ex: long legs, long neck, short, tall, curvy, etc from there, see what you’d like to highlight (long legs, buff arms, big butt, etc) and dress to highlight those things. since my legs are longer than my torso and my chest is bigger on my short torso, i wear mid-rise/high-rise pants to highlight my legs and go for shorter boxier tops to hide my chest and offset the long bottoms. i hope that made sense lol
I heard the term being used to reference looks from the runways, fashion magazine/photoshoots to refer to a certain look with makeup. Editorial is kinda of a more eye catching, high concept, and more for art/design's sake rather than wearability. Basically looks that models wear on the runway in relation to hair, makeup, and clothing can fall into Editorial style. So playing with different textures to certain pieces of clothing can elevate a look. (Eg. Swapping a basic tee with a velvet shirt to pair with jeans.)

As someone who wears a long coat for warmth, it truly brings the drama every time

Jade you gave some quality tips! Thanks!
can't wait to apply some these! the long coat is a STAPLE for me
streetwear has gotten really boring to me. Everyone wearing the ALD hypebeast2 beige monocrome fits. I want post hypebeast2 fashion meta!
Ok wait but how do we know our own proportions and how do we know what exactly compliments those proportions

when you talk about high contrast pieces, you used the term 'more editorial.' what do you mean? haven't heard 'editorial' in this way?
