Well done Colt. No sleeved barrels, No stupid frame lock. You even made the frame 30% stronger great barrel lengths and fixed the timing issue. Colt did it right. Quality makes it a Colt!!!! Please don't change. Now do the same for the Anaconda. Moreover offer a option for your revolvers to accept moon clips. Anacondas, Pythons, and Cobras.
You guys are really missing out on sales for not offering an original "blued" model. those were what sold back in the day and nobody does that anymore. BRING 'EM BACK!!!
Is anyone really asking for matte finish on a python ?every comment section I see about new python has requests for Blued and lots of them. Everyone I’ve personally talked to wants blued , I only bought stainless because didn’t have blued. They should just say colt we will cater to consumers request as long as it’s easier than existing options. I would have no problem paying $2,000 -$2,500 for blue python if quality blue
Pretty sure Smith and Wesson still makes a lot of blued revolvers, especially the classic line. Although they are nowhere close to the "royal blue" that Colt offered.
@@Tikenmuwings that’s cool but don’t you agree you’re the minority in a vote for blued python or matte python and far more people have been asking for blued every since they came out
As an original python owner I am extremely happy that colt brought out these pythons. They’re just as good if not better in some ways than originals I know you can’t bring back the blue models like they were but you do have the DLC coting. Please bring that out.
Thank you Colt for bringing back the 2.5" Python! I have wanted one of those for a long time. While the 3" is nice, the 2.5" is one of classic configuruations and I glad to see it back. I can't wait to get one!
I liked the hosts perspectives on the Python sizes presented in this video. I have been looking at this revolver for a while now, my first venture into revolvers. I was most impressed by the 5” barrel length, the balance comments in particular. This size best fits the needs of my wife and I so we ordered it from our FFL in August, 2024. I have called Colt directly twice after placing the order and was told in both calls the 5” gun is not scheduled for production through mid October, 2024. The customer service reps also indicated there is no indication when this gun will be available. I have also seen quite a few You Tube videos recently in which out of the box issues existed. Specifically, loose rear sights. I saw a new 4.2” barrel length Python at a gun store in September 2024 and immediately looked at the rear sight. To my surprise it was loose as as reported in the videos. I am trying to keep an open mind about the 5” Python but am starting to question the reputation of this gun. Waiting indefinitely for a $1400 revolver that is not scheduled for production having problematic sights is worrisome.
We Love what Colt is doing with the Python and Anaconda. Maybe a Reintroduction of the Diamondback in a .357 frame capable of handling a light diet of Buffalo bore 180 grain hard cast outdoorsman load with a 4 inch barrel. Thank you and Best Wishes from Montana! M.H.
I never thought I'd own a Colt revolver. I'm not a millionaire, lol. Thank you, Colt, for reintroducing this line. I have the 3" and love it, even though I had to sell 3 guns to buy it. I just ordered the 5", and I can't wait to get it.
I liked the comments about the 5” polished stainless Python and ordered one at my FFL. The gun had to be back ordered since none were currently available. After waiting 2 weeks I called Colt directly to inquire about the estimated wait time. I was told this particular gun was not available and no production schedule was available. The Customer Service rep suggested I call back in September to check again. I hope this handgun is worth the wait.
Real nice, might have to pick up a 5 inch to compliment my 3 inch. Any potential for Royal Blue to return? Lastly hope you eventually make an 8 shot 357 magnum 😮
Is the 2.5 inch legal to purchase in CA? I see that the 3 inch is on the list but it the 2.5 and your website doesn’t show any pythons available for sale in CA when I use to state compliance filter.
Great iconic revolver with one exception: the rear sight. Sub-contract with Wilson Combat or another company to maintain your high quality standards. Eliminate the need for after market installs by a reputable gunsmith. My two cents….
I know at Shot Show 2024 Colt will be announcing the Blued Python's that will be coming in 2024. I've called and asked, emailed and I know THOUSANDS of others have as well... It's gonna be coming soon right?!?
Never been interested in revolvers in my life until I handled a Python and felt it was Swiss or German mechanical jewelry basically. Huge respect to colt for re releasing a legendary classic and knocking it out of the park instead of tarnishing the name.
For me 4.25 inch still looks the best, the barrel/grip are about same length, perfect balanced. Also the 5" has weird vented rib, the vents are too close to one another, which makes the barrel a little lighter, so 5" probably good for hunting.
But when are you finally going to come out with the Detective Special with that iconic upswept muzzle like they did it years ago? Do you guys ever listen to anything?
Not a big complaint but I wish there was a 4 in. barrel rather than the 41/4 in. used on the new Pythons. It just looks like a vintage Python should look.
Lessons learned the hard way: Fact 1: If you so much as take the side plate off, you void the warranty. Fact 2: If you attempt to buff out a scratch in the finish, you void the warranty. Fact 3: Colt does not sell parts to their revolvers. On their website, if you select Accessories > Parts, the website points you to Midway USA and Brownells (both of which have a pathetically limited selection).
Colt/CZ should bring back the law enforcement line wheel guns such as the Lawman, Trooper, air marshal and Detective special. I think they’d sell well.
HEY COLT! Modern Colt Python Royal Blue Idea! (Oil DLC) coated high polished stainless steel python will give you a very beautiful modern blued looking finish, with extreme durability. Kimber did this in a short run with there k6s royal
You never talk about it so I will ask. Does all new Colt firearms have the intergal locking system? If they do you lost me as a customer I will buy old Colt firearms without a key to unlock a gun. Respectfully submitted,
The Python is amazing BUT the rear sight is crap. Worked fine with 38 but 357 the sight blade moved and I was shooting 6’ to the left. I bought a competitor rear which is far superior. For the price step up and supply a quality rear sight.
Let’s talk about the garbage rear sights colt put on the pythons and anacondas?? Won’t hold adjustment and rattles. Not what I would expect for a $1500 revolver. Will be installing Wilson combat sights.
My 35 year old 4 inch Python IS Royal Blue and it is the pride of my weapons collection. I take it out of the safe once a week and touch it . . .and wipe it down . . .mmmm.
Colt Royal Blue
BLUE BLUE BLUE AND NOTHING EXCEPT BLUE CZ COMPANY !!!
AGREED
Your wishes are granted by the Spirit of Samuel Colt.

Bring the blued version back please!

If not Royal Blue then at least offer the stainless with a polished DLC coating.

It’s time to produce a Blued Python long over due

So excited for the matte finish. It looks great really dig those grips on it too
I have one in 4.25 coming since that length is my fav carry all round wheel although I was looking for a 4 inch Anaconda never owned 357
For a very newer. . .ish, I am surprised it did not mention the 3in combat elite python ?
I got excited thinking they were going to release the DLC finish or blue. Bummer.
Real nice, might have to pick up a 5 inch to compliment my 3 inch.
Any potential for Royal Blue to return?
Lastly hope you eventually make an 8 shot 357 magnum 😮
I am curious as to why people seem to be indicating that Colt cannot do the old original blued finish? Is this true and if so why?
when blue finishing ??
Is the 2.5 inch legal to purchase in CA? I see that the 3 inch is on the list but it the 2.5 and your website doesn’t show any pythons available for sale in CA when I use to state compliance filter.
I am looking forward to purchasing the 2.5 Python. Really glad you made it.
How about an 8" barrel length in the polished stainless finish? Would be first in line for that!
I second the 8” hope

Why you not updating your website with all of these new models?
I wonder why the one has darker walnut grips than the others?
When are you guys gonna update what you have on your website to include all of these
how do you mount a optic on the python?
Could you please make a modification, so that a red dot can be used.
Never been interested in revolvers in my life until I handled a Python and felt it was Swiss or German mechanical jewelry basically. Huge respect to colt for re releasing a legendary classic and knocking it out of the park instead of tarnishing the name.
Cool 😎 additions, Colt. Maybe we can get a true 4" barrel Python 😃 instead of the 4.25" Canadian abomination.
Nice. I going to get one of the bead blasted ones to match my Cobra.
Can the new Python handle continuous use of .357 magnum ammunition like the S&W 686?
Wonder if you can order Python barrels from Colt now?
I'd like a case color hardened frame with royal blued cylinder and barrel.
Nice to see some single actions, combat elites, combat units, haven't seen them in stores in a while
I'm loving that 5". Probably the best looking one on there.
The porting on it is unique

so awesome they came out with a bead blasted version but they should also bring back the blued version I love they are expanding the snakes
the most beautiful revolver

Will colt make a 2 slot blued 4.25 python
Can't wait to buy a 4" blued
Love those hogue grips!!!
Bought a 6 in bright stainless in ‘88.
We need more single action army’s on the market! My local shop is price gouging and asking 3500 for theirs
Where’s my boy Blue? Also better rear sight. That is all…

Fix those rear sights !
I have to test the 5 inches !
Where’s the 3” blued.
Colt certainly got a particularly stronger appeal than s&w...the hammer is longer bigger looks easier to finger ..
You know what?!?!? It might be a first of its kind but could you imagine how good a case hardened python would look!
Colt/CZ should bring back the law enforcement line wheel guns such as the Lawman, Trooper, air marshal and Detective special. I think they’d sell well.
Since CZ USA is practically taken over by Colt, might as well start producing CZ 97 B as Colt Z97B, in 10mm of course.
Awesome!!!🤩
Please bring back the Nickel Python.

3" and 2.5" , DLC coated with night sights, please

I can’t find a 5” anywhere else online besides this video

3” matte finish, so I can actually take it to work and protect myself
maybe, ya know, update the website? you guys need to crawl up the but of whoevers job it is to run your site.

Go to royal blue
Blued 5in 2025!!!
True to Colt fashion ignore customer request for years untill the 10th bankruptcy then start making the Blued pythons.
You made a less desirable finish than you have. Only finishes wanted by most is royal blue and high polish. Don’t bond arms rough neck the python.
Give me a bakers dozen 😂
