Love the syncing of the cameras, the Strava segment elevation profile and HR, Power and speed, coupled with the podcast studio commentary, must have been such a faff! Great video.
I thoroughly enjoy Jesse Coyle's attitude of "I am good at this bike thing because I've spent years of my life getting good at it and I am quite talented". It's refreshing having people saying that their good anyway and it has taken years to get there. It's not about the latest tech, or the fanciest training strategy. You have been consistently training for a long time, and you don't try to bullshit us with some new miracle thing.
In terms of cycling content, you two guys are the most entertaining to watch…for sure. You should consider Durianrider as your next guest. Now THAT would be awesome! 😀
I love this video! The breakdown from two cyclists was super interesting. As a newer cyclist, I always appreciate ride-analysis and lessons-learned videos. Not to mention your friendship.....it's just so cool to see two people be so genuine and authentic with healthy competition and support for each other.
That’s the best!!! Most enjoyable watch because it is your mate and you want to beat them more than anyone else the majority of the time. Well done! It’s why I view, you keep it very interesting.
A nice topic for the show would be: how do you open gels in the bike! Probably use your mouth, but getting a gel and opening it every 20 mins like Coyle did seems like such a chore. Like, fuel on a bottle seems more practical. I would get my hands all sticky with so many gels. And the mate vs mate dinamic made for a really nice video!
Been following you guys a lot lately, but this is probably the best content yet. Loved it, nice work. Also will be stealing Jessies fuelling/caffeine plan
Top ride gents, great analysis. The only way Miller could beat Coyle would be for Miller to hide in a group then unleash himself past Coyle on the final climb. Of course Miller would need a hard working group, otherwise Coyle would just pull away - too much zone 2 training on Coyles legs. Now the event for this attempted demolition of Coyle is Peaks Challenge, plenty of high quality groups and if Coyle went too early ... Mt Hotham would have him eating sugar at Dinner Plain! Miller has gone up Mt Hotham at 1_15_33, quicker than Sam Hill and Jai Hindley, just behind Jack Haig and Mark O'Brien - I see no sign of Coyle on the segment, so this is Miller time. No sign of Miller or Coyle on Raspberry Hill (Back of Falls) segment, however this is where Miller's superior pacing up Mt Hotham should pay dividends with fast groups for both boys, this would be a live stream level event. Bring your pedal spanners folks.
Really loved JC’s last comment about going all out if it’s just the two of you. 😂 that’s the spirit. This video and the commentary to run through what was happening every moment in your minds was awesome. One of your best videos yet. Cheers.
Great video fellas. A question re: "big hits of caffeine"........is there some point where this becomes dangerous? Ie. elevating heart rate too much.....
From Camotes Island Cebu Philippines 🇵🇭 Italia 🇮🇹 Venezia 🇮🇹 say God almighty kids, your performance is awesome and perfectly insane thanks for your recording it and explained well the situation about your body reaction ... a single observation looking at the heart rate monitor, in my opinion the last few kilometers you have had a drop in sugar which will have made your heartbeat increase and the watts in your leg and consequently in your wheel decrease.. the videos you made it's interesting keep it up nice Guys cheers 🤗 peace ✌️
Heads up re: No Doz. I've found for best results have one 60-90 mins before you need it. Comes on slow and smooth, quite a bit different to caffeine in a gel or coffee.
nice watching it, remembers me my Gran Fondo with my friend. However I have a qustion about caffeine, once I was talking gels with caffeine, but it's diuretic and i had to stop for a pee almost every 30 minutes... all gains were lost... Now, I'm thinking about talking 200mg (could be that SIS gel) close to the end, so no probs with a toilet. Don't you have problems with peeing after such amount of caffeine? (I drink a lot of coffee daily)
Hi, great video. Could you share your nutrition plan in terms of using gels more than fluid? I’m riding the uci masters grab fondo in august and it’s 100 miles and I won’t be able to stop at feeds as it will be full gas so I’m trying to figure out my fuelling plan.
I'm a Jesse Coyle type rider - Big diesel engine that is amazing on the flat, descents and steady climbs under 5% gradient. People are always really surprised how fast I can cover 160km hilly rides just by climbing steady and keeping my HR down and fueling with 80g+ carbs every hour.
I do, every day. Just have Beta Fuel gels left over from Nationals I need to finish. Sugar water is better, the 40g per gel is too much, I prefer to sip in smaller increments,
Isn’t Jesse having started with the rear camera a bit of a spoiler?😂
they both already knew whos gonna get drop 😂
Chris mate you need an Sworks. Everyone in the know, knows it's like, sooo fast. If you had Spesh equipment you'd probably be WT.
Haha! I know right … they are just “such a fast bike”
"Imagine how good I'd be on a Specialized"
Love the syncing of the cameras, the Strava segment elevation profile and HR, Power and speed, coupled with the podcast studio commentary, must have been such a faff! Great video.
Confirmed faff 😁
We all need more gaff in our lives😂

Jesse unCoils, and it's caffeine and rim brakes for the win! Yayyyyyy!
Great ride video! Would love to see more of this type of content
Very original video, totally different and very entertaining.

I wish I could have a friend like that )

Also chuckled at Jesse’s comment at the end about riding as hard as he ever has vs going over the line together. 😂
One of the best cycling videos on TH-cam, great content! Such good watching while on the erg.
Really enjoyed this showdown - the psychology and nutrition aspects were intriguing
Jesse is so right about if you are with friends you have to try and beat them . That's all part of the fun with your mate's.

Why isn't Jesse running the home made gels and sugar water anymore...
I do, every day. Just have Beta Fuel gels left over from Nationals I need to finish. Sugar water is better, the 40g per gel is too much, I prefer to sip in smaller increments,
Cheers legend, love your work
