Cheers mate, I went from pc to ps5 and I'm glad to know my monitor and mic arent going to waste, rather I can still use em here on ps!
Awesome! How do you like being on console now? Also curious to know why the switch?
@@theway24gaming Gaming is pretty much the same, altho a little less fps. The option of having 1080/1440p 120hz on ps5 is pretty much the same as it was on my pc (1440p, 165hz). Also the switch was mainly cause its more portable than a pc, and I move across countries quite often : )
@LoboSolitario.__ that's awesome, I'm sure you seen some pretty awesome places! Thanks for the reply.
Honestly with console having 120hz and my friends not having PC money or space, I've been on PS5 more myself, and the ease of use and speed to just sit down and game has me only turning on my PC for PC exclusives and games that are just unbearable on a controller@@LoboSolitario.__
@@LoboSolitario.__ i was gonna suggest a gaming laptop but realized this was a year ago
Extremely underrated info, video and channel brother. From one content creator to another, best wishes to you and I hope you get your notoriety soon. You have my support and thank you very much ✊🏿💯🔥
Thanks! Many blessings 🙏🏽
This video is a needle in a haystack, appreciate you clarifying everything.
No problem, I was struggling with this for a while, so I decided to share the information I found.
Thank you brudddaaa
Dude this video was so helpful
This is a fantastic video! I appreciate you for taking the time to go into detail about how to setup everything up. 😁👍👍
Cheers! 🥃🥃
Thank you! Just trying to help in anyway I can. Have a good day! 🍻
I just purchased everything you suggested I’m excited to set it up
I’m happy for you. I hope you love it!
How’s it working? 😄
I think i finally found my solution to start my stream!!! My only question, if I do this XLR setup. And I have a wireless headset, am I able to hear my party chat/game audio?
Thanks bro I need this
Glad I could help, merry Christmas
Thanks bro
how do you do this if my mic has one mic cable end and one earphone jack
Informative video but phantom power will NOT hurt the SM7B. I own several myself and thats how I found this video because I'm trying to see what interface I can use for my PS5 cause all of my UA Apollo stuff requires drivers.
the shure SM7B is a dynamic mic, You have to turn the phantom power off. Read the instructions.
Not only that, if you use a cloud lifter you need phantom power on.
@@cherrypoppers870 he is not using that tho, that's why he suggests to turn it off.
the comment I was looking for. nothing will get "destroyed". It's not outputting sound, and phantom power isnt being fed to the sm7b, its boosting outside of the mic itself.
The SM7B does not require phantom power and is not affected if phantom power is present on its mixer input
Super video ! I'm going to get a Logitech blue sona with xlr coin connection soon, will this mic work and will I be heard in the game? ex: On call of duty Warzone
Great video! Question: if I connect my Shure Mic to the Elgato XLR, will I still be able to use my AV Receiver for sound? Or will I have to connect my headphones to the Elgato?
can get the side tone to work on a third mic
I have tried to connect my focusrite to my ps5, but when I do, the ps5 only reads “Microphone on Controller”. My interface doesn’t show up. Maybe I have to change the settings on the interface?
I don’t think the focusrite works on ps5. Someone should make a list of verified audio interfaces. I bought a cheap fifine mixer and it worked but the headphone port sounds like crap. Looking at the Roland bridge cast to replace it.
@@Elniniss Yeah I’ve noticed that as well. Maybe a small mixer or another interface. Hopefully the PS5 Pro should work with it…?
@@papayamusicofficial7941 I just bought a Presonus interface and will check to see if it works. So far I know the elgato wave xlr works and the Roland bridge cast works.
Great video brother. A few questions;
Where do you plug your headphones in? Controller or wave xlr? Also is it possible to mic monitor your audio plus game audio real time?
Definitely need answers for this, let me know if you figure I out. Trying to use a mic preamp with a studio mic and vocal processor with real time monitoring.
Can you make one for running a uac2 usb microphone (Shure mv7+) on the ps5 as well, if possible?
hey i have a simple question would the xlr work on my ps4 pro if so is it just a simple plug and play like how you showed in the video or do i need a software for it to work
Is there any delay? Can you use a mic preamp into the interface?
I'm a year late, but if I dont have a mic cable, can I still plug the USBc cord into the wave? Or will I have to buy a mic cord too?
Appreciate this video, I had the Elgato wave XLR, Rode Boom Arm and Shure Sm7B arrive and followed your clear guide. However my volume on my Astro and Steelseries Headset are only around 10% volume even with max Sony and ingame sound settings. Any possible fix at all please? The mic sounds incredible, very happy but the headphone volume is barely audible. I am not using my MacBook for any software, just everything through the ps5. 😢
Ok are you hearing yourself talk pretty loud in your headset? Maybe your mix is set to much for monitoring your mic? I’m talking about when you select the x on the interface
Hi, thanks for the video you help me to find a solution. I just want to ask if you have other cheaper solutions instead of the Elgato Wave XLR. It cost a lot!
Hello I have heard recently that this audio interface works as well but not sure it is powerful enough for the mic in this video but other XLR mics might be fine. Again I can’t speak to the quality of sound you are going to get because it is a “cheap” interface but it is a more affordable option. a.co/d/0p9LlKd
@@theway24gaming thanks!
Yo I bought the wave xlr I can hear myself when I’m testing, but when I’m recording Its no audio… do you know the solution to this ?
When streaming and playing with friends can you mute yourself while the viewers can hear you but your friends can’t?
I was wondering what if I get a USB c to usd converter then u said ps can't have drivers. Welp I'm not gonna use my sm7b on console ig.
I’m sorry can you clarify what issue you are having?
Are you trying to use a different interface?
wanted to say thanks, this helped a lot. question though, i hear myself when i talk, i don't mind a little bit of that but can i turn it down? I only know how to do that on Wavelink interface on Mac/PC but that menu is of course not available on PS5
Hello, no problem glad I could help. All you need to do is click the center button on the interface until on the bottom left of the interface you see the little x highlighted (not the mic or headphones) and turn the dial left or right for your preference. Hope that helps
@@theway24gaming perfect, thanks again!

Would I be able to use wireless headphones on the ps5 with this? I just want to control my XRL microphone volume
Hey man, can I connect a beacn mic on a ps5?
Hello. is the volume of the headphones and microphone stored on the wave xlr interface after turning off the ps5? I had a wave 3 usb microphone and after every restart of the ps5 I had to adjust the volume of the microphone. I hope you can answer that for me. Thank you very much.
I honestly can’t remember. I stream from the PC now but from what I remember you have to set the volume on the wave XLR every time you turn on the ps5. The software for pc is the only one that stores your last settings I’m afraid.
I connected but my input audio is super low any solutions?
i have a focusrite and it isn’t working on my ps5 someone please help
so how did you connect it to your ps5 if it’s xlr? Did you plugs the xlr port to your mic and then plug the usb cable to your ps5 and have both cables plugged into the interface ?
The XLR cable connects directly from the mic to the interface and the usb cable that comes with the interface connects directly from the interface to the ps5
Hey man just wondering how do I use my headset when am using the microphone simultaneously so I can hear the gameplay and my friends . Using the PS5
Go to sound go down the menu to audio whatever over the 3d setting and switch it in there after you turn off auto switch. Put headset as the output
Why do I have to turn off 48v?? I have a sm7db
I have a question. How does all that work when you have a capture card?? I’m trying to stream off of a pc but game off of my ps5 and I need help
If your doing it that way you will need a 2 mic setup. One for your stream and one for your ps5 to talk to your team mates.
A little help here bro.
There's a way to use it with PS5 and PC simultaneously?
I can’t tell you no with certainty but from what I’ve tried and understood you will need 2 separate mics if your playing on ps5 but streaming on pc, one for your stream pc and one for your ps5
Maybe I expressed myself bad.
This is not for streaming, just for group chat, but without me needing to unplug and plug back in when I use the mic on one of them@@theway24gaming
If I use xlr to usb cable will it work ?
Does the mic or sound peak bad when you get loud? For when you stream? Or does the wave xlr handle the peaking?
I never had bad peaking issues and I would get pretty loud. As long as you know how to set your gain levels you should be fine. If it peaks you need to just adjust your gain because it’s too high then
@@theway24gaming Thank you! This video is a hidden gem man appreciate ya
@@cloudn9ne408 no problem man, glad it could help. God bless
I wish i can get this to work on ps5
Is there a problem you are running in to? I can see if I have any information that could help
@@theway24gaming i meant ps4 I don't have a ps5 yet sadly and I know realize why mine won't work I don't have the elgato wave xlr
Can u use a wired headset for the audio hearing?
Yes it has a 3.5mm headphone jack on the back of it for your headphones
Just make sure to select it for your audio output also
is it possible for me to use the same mic while streaming off my pc? like if i want to play 2k24 on my ps5 and use a capture card to stream off my pc, can i use the same mic? i was watching a streamer today he had the shure sm7b but it wasnt hooked up to his ps5 just his pc, and we couldn’t hear his game chat as it was only coming through his remote. can i use one mic or should i just get two?
From my experience, you will need 2 mics in order to to stream off pc but use your ps5 to game. You will need one mic for your stream pc and another mic so people can hear you on your ps5.
I wanna use my krk speakers i got an evo 2 audio inferface and its not recognising
If the interface needs audio drivers installed, it will not be able to be used with the PS5
Does this work with streamlabs?
Can you ise an XLR mic and the Wave XLR as a streaming mic on like stream labs
I’m assuming your asking if you can use it with pc and Streamlabs obs, as yes you can
@@theway24gaming so I play on ps5 and I like using wireless headphones, (hate chords) and I wanted to know if you could use the XLR with wireless headphone and still have audio on stream
@@jokergaming7967 are you planning on streaming strictly from the ps5?
@@theway24gaming no; I will be using a Pc using a capture card
@@jokergaming7967 ok you will only have audio if you have the wave XLR connected to your pc and you route your audio to go to your capture card from your ps5. Then you route the audio from your capture card to your pc. It’s sounds more complicated than it is. You will just have to remember that you will need another mic tho for your party on ps5 unless you are planning on using discord
Do you have to hook this up to a computer before ps5?
Nope, it works with ps5 straight out of the box 👍🏽
Can you just use a focusrite instead of a “Wave XLR” ?
Unfortunately no because focusrite requires audio drivers downloaded which the PS5 is unable to do
@@theway24gamingwow the focusrite has a “usb” to plug up in the ps5, but I didn’t know that the ps5 couldn’t read it… I’ll still keep the focusrite because it’s good for other things though ! Thanks ✅
@@MichealTires no problem. Merry Christmas
Does direct monitoring work with this? Like can you jear your own mic through the headphones while you play?
Yes it does
@@theway24gaminghey! thanks for the reply, I ended up buying one and it's awesome. I had another question though, I heard that wavelink will remember your config (like EQ and stuff like that) if you unplug from PC and plug back into console. Is that true? And if so, would the VST support still work *while* on PlayStation?
Thanks again bro!
@@meroinheroin honestly I’m not quite sure if the device can store it locally. It might but i think only the software can save your preset. I could be wrong tho, have you tried it out yet?
@@theway24gaming confirmed the guy who initially told me that was wrong. VST's or pretty much any extra feature from the device requires a PC. Thanks for your help though man. 🤙
Hey, would the ProCaster work with this interface, and this tutorial?
It sure will! You just might need to use different gain settings but as long as you get the levels to where I have them here you should be good to go!
@theway24gaming hey Thanks for your answer. I instead got the Shure MV7. Hey, I have a question. if I plug the mv7 with the ps5 and put my headphones into the headphone jack into the mic. After a while, the audio distorts it always fixes it if I change my Output to my monitor and then back to the mv7. My MV7 is updated on the latest firmware. Even the support doesn't know how 😐. Maybe you got an answer?
@@MrPure. sounds like it can be a firmware or software issue. Not sure how to fix that though. Maybe you can plug the microphone into a computer and run an update on the mic or something?
@theway24gaming Yes, maybe I just wanted to ask sorry for bothering you, but thanks!😄
@@MrPure. no bother. I’ll let you know if I find anything else out 👍🏽
Is there anyway to fix my fifine am8 on my ps5 it makes a static/crackling sound when I talk..
Try lowering down the gain. You might be pushing too much signal through. That could cause the buzzing
I have an M-Audio air 192 interface and the ps5 doesnt recognise it. Do u think theres a solution?
Unfortunately it doesn’t work because that audio interface is only compatible with Mac/Windows
Would the Scarlett interface work?
Unfortunately no 😅
The SHURE MV7 have a USB so if I connect directly to the console… it work?
yes indeed!
When you have it plugged into the ps5 does it have good audio quality
Yes the mic sounds great and you can also hear well through your headphones
In the end of the video you can hear how the mic sounds
Thank you
Where does your wired headset connect to?
It goes connected right behind the interface
Does this work with xbox?
I'll just save you the time, no
Would the MAONO PD100 work with this?
If it’s an XLR mic then it should
Can you just use a microphone cable to USB adapter cable?
Honestly I never tried to use that but not sure if the ps5 will recognize it as an audio device
Will the audient evo 4 work for the ps5?
I’ve never used that interface before but if it requires drivers to be installed to a device in order to work, it will not work on ps5
Can you still take advantage of the Wave Link doing this?
Unfortunately you will not have access to wave link software through PlayStation
@@theway24gaming two usb ports would of been great, this way we can still run wave link on the pc
@@haies09 yeah I hear you on that one
@@theway24gaming looks like the Rode Streamer X is the perfect choice for this, as it’s a capture card, audio mixer and unlocks Unify, which is like the wave link
@@haies09 if your running a ps5 with a pc also yes but only from console the rode streamer x wouldn’t work. But yeah running both you can essentially use that device. This video is for people wanting to stream only from ps5
maybe you should have used the mic on this vid bro!
Will it work with every xlr mic
It sure will
@@theway24gaming thanks
saved me a lot of trial and error ...I have a focusrite :/
Sorry to hear that. Yeah focusrite is a good interface it just isn’t compatible with PS5
