It’s good for a light wash .. you could spend £200 on some products for it to look good for a picture but in reality will just get dirty again within hours/days
Well done for showing DS. I’ve got to be honest, I’ve always defended it for cost and results. I can remember way back when, when everyone was slamming it but I’ve always thought the instant shine was a fab product.
Yeah it's all about a personal preference. Detailers see things differently to the average car cleaning enthusiast so what is good for some could be bad for others
What an amazing video! I love the fact you have gone for a budget car cleaning kit! The reality of a lot of people not being able to afford the mid to higher end detailing products. Also for the people that just want a clean car and hasn’t got a critical eye for detail. Thank you
Great Video Dave!👌🏻 I'm surprised manufacturers can make money on these kind of kits nowadays 😅 TOP TIP - if anyone ends up with this kit, keep the spray bottles afterwards, refill and re-sticker them with any of the 5 litre leading brand products 🤓 (as empty spray bottles with triggers are about £10 on ebay)
Tried that, but they don't last long. A few of mine had the triggers go wrong before the bottle even ran out. Btw I only got it a few years back when it was £5 in Morrisons.
You know what, I went into this video expecting it to be full of bs. I'm pleasantly surprised at your presentation skills, thorough information, arguments for and against. Splendid and informative video, mate. First time watcher, subscribed.
Always a bit wary of wheel cleaner since I used some on my wifes XC60 which looked fine but the wheel cleaner caused bubbles and peeling in the lacquer. I'm an average DIY car cleaner with two young kids and no spare time to clean my car. I've experimented with various stuff from Meguairs, Turtle Wax, CarPlan and Autoglym and also have some stuff from Dodo Juice in the shed. Generally I'm not trying to detail a car, just want to wash the winter grime off and make it look a bit better than it did at a distance and get the water beading on it when it rains as quickly and cheaply as possible.
Im a Bilt Hamber and turtle wax user mostly. I actually like the tire dressing when you cant be bothered or have the time to prep the tires for a more serious product. it takes 2 mins to give the tires a black look and it lasts a week. the shampoo is actually a good concentrated formula if basic, it is quite good for non ceramic/Si02 protected LSP.
These were the first products i started using back in the day 😂 they are ok for someone who doesn't care and at that price peope will always buy them 😅 great video Dave, thanks for sharing 👍
I buy this kit all the time for my electric hyper scooter. it's great for me. I have a friend whos been a detailer for over 10 years, and he actually rebottles the rinse and shines for cars that are of lower end as it does the job alongside his premium products like bilt hamber. He says it's not a bad product for the price.

Wicked accurate review! I'm always cleaning my car and often valet other people's cars and they ask what products i use.. And the Demon Shine is an absolute gamechanger for a streak free finish. I've used a lot of other products over the years , Even worked at Auto Glym packing their products and would often get alot of their stuff discounted too.. I don't know why so many people bash it. I'd choose a £5 bottle of demon shine over a lot of other products if I'm honest. As for the rest it's just a cheap easy quick clean.
I’ll tell you why people buy the cheaper products… it’s because they don’t buy into the bullshit that some manufacturers are attaching to their high priced versions.
Na I'm sure that's not it. I've worked long enough in the industry to know how much quality chemicals cost to make and the retailers don't profit what everyone thinks
I’ll be honest, bought this back in March, I’ve cleaned my sister’s cars & a few friend’s cars with it, I’ve mainly used to apc, wheel cleaner & snow foam. Haven’t really used the shine as whoever’s car it is, weren’t really concerned about the streaks & the tyre shine, well, the instructions really speak for itself & but whoever’s car I was doing, just wanted a nice clean to make it look fresh before going out & about. For £25 from Halfords alongside some bits & bobs, it’s a good starter kit, now that I’m looking at better, expensive & different kits, it does help u start somewhere. For me, it was better to start cheap or somewhat reasonable than to start from the high end stuff, have no idea where to start, how to use it & struggle & not learn the techniques or the right ways to use them
Another great video Dave, you mentioned Halfords I was given a couple of bottles of their own brew wheel cleaner and interior retailer not bad products for someone on a budget 😊
Once again another fantastic and informative video Dave. I use the demon shine when I need a quick clean as you now I have no access to water and on my black SUV it works well.
Love demon shine !! I got an auto glim care package and was sooo much better than the demon range but .... 20 vs £80 i know where id put my money for general cleaning. If ur that fussed ull pay to get it cleaned anyway !!
Alright mate I've just started watching alot of your videos. Subscribed 👍 your class at what you do. I started using the turtle wax products however I wondered if you could do a review on the auto smart products. I tried the luxury wax polish and seemed good but would like your opinion along with the mirror image or even just a comment on if they are safe and durable 👍
Do you know what that's a brilliant idea. I used to use auto smart for many years as a car valeter. I'm going to add this to my video list . Brilliant shout 👏👏👏
Deamon shine is not too bad as a quick detailer, ideal for water spots and drying aid Not great protection but could be good if ontop of something that had protection Cheers dave good vid again

Brilliant video as always. I am a big fan of 'poorboys. At present I am hospital with a broken hip after tripping over extension lead whilst machine polishing my MX5.....be careful out there 🤕
Great review, Dave. To be honest, the products are not for me, but I do use Carplan screen clean, which is about £5 for 500ml and is great. The product is very good and my windows seem to stay clean for a long time. I don’t know if it’s the same product as Demon Shine, though. If it is, that’s good value for money.
Hi, another great video, I wanted to know if you have you used Citrus Magic by KKD? Wondering if you have a YT video on it? Is it a good product? Thank you!
Used this kit a lot, the all purpose, shampoo and spray shine were pretty good for me just to have my car look decent without too much effort. These days I want to get into more granular detailing, I would be interested in your recommendation for a decent kit for those who take a more in depth plunge
would be interseting if you havent already to ty the halfords autoglym bundle comes in a case and there seems to be a fair bit included but is i tvalue for money ? love to hear your thoughts.
Can never be arsed to do this much effort when the uks roads are such pot hole riddled salt & dirt covered messes where it rains half the year. Your cars clean about 5 days at best in a warm dry week in August and it doesn’t hide the huge chunks in your alloys from raking them in pot holes doing 40mph.
Great review video Dave. As the old adage goes - you get what you pay for or buy cheap buy twice. Clever marketing by Demon though as for sure many will buy the pack to give as a present.
to be fair, the spray and shine does add a decent bit of gloss. It is a good kit for those who just like a clean car and aren't too interested in decontaminating, ph levels, swirls etc
Ever since buying discovering the all purpose cleaner, Koch Chemie Green Star, I literally use it as a pre wash n wheel cleaner at 7:1 and interior cleaner at 10:1. I buy it in a big drum, but use to get the 1l bottles.
it's a worthless set not as easy to work with and also not as high performing as other brands, but one thing i still use are the bottles because of the color and text its really nice to have, bought some other triggers and you have a nice cleaning set for the basic work around the car. I use a lot of product that you have to dillute so 1l botlles are easy to work with. i bought the set i think 3years ago, and the bottles still look good
Demon shine was the very first QD I used when I started cleaning my own car, and although I’ve now moved onto Bilt Hamber’s. I agree it did do a cracking job for the price. Although because you can dilute it I suspect BH Auto-QD works out cheaper and it’s twice the quality. Never used any of their other products, and told my missus to leave the car chemical buying to me unless she’s getting it for herself to use 🤣
Great video Dave, I really like your down to earth approach to YT videos - and appreciate a UK friendly source of info. I have a question for you and I have checked all your links but, could you put together the best products for a not beginner but not pro detailer? I started weekend detailing (about 6 months) and I am loving it, spending a lot of my time working on my own and family/friends cars but, I’m struggling to find an ‘intermediate’ type bundle of products. There are so many brands/products out there and just as many reviews on them, I am lost! I don’t know what brands to try or what brands are worth my money - all I want is a bundle to take a car from start to finish including interior. Can you help? Thank you 😊
If you consider for a moment the cost of the oppositions products!!! 🤔 Come on its bloody awesome, For me a trip to my local car wash £6 Drive home grab the Demon Shine £5 wipe and shine 15min's back indoors Match of day!! Sorted!! 👍
Meanwhile my first step into cleaning my car was going to the power wash at Morrisons with my mate and hoping for the best haha I don't even got a hose at home so that'll probs continue to be my way
IT is a good bargain quantity and pleanty of it will sell well in Australia Here in Australia when you get is a bucy , sponge ,bottle of car wash, bottle of washer fluid
I recently just started my car washing bussness and im always useing them products and i find that thay work very well i have pictures of my mums car what i done on my youtube that im going to post now
thanks for the video and testing Dave, testing the mediocre products, so we don't have to 😁. but you are right, we all started off with this kind of stuff, before we got to use AG, Meg's, Dodo Juice and a few others (got caught in the Chem Guys trap for a while 10yrs ago). Now we're a bit smarter, and using the best we have used/tested from TW, AMDet, AW and IW.
Dave, I have a customer who has scratches on the drivers footwell plastic, I’ve tried all sorts of things can you suggest something that might remove/ reduce these please
I bought two boxes for myself when they were going for £5 a pop. Good enough to wash my daily drivers at the time a few years ago. The tyre dressing is terrible, only slightly more durable than water as a coating lol.
The only Demon product i brought was glass cleaner and it was crap it left the glass with smears won't even buy Demon products ever again. Love the channel by the way
If my detailers are shut or Halfords don't have my usual in stock, I would buy their stuff - in fact, I did just that with Demon Machine in between contact washes to freshen the car up as it was disgusting. Very, very impressed with the results for the price in all honesty.
If this is below entry level (given the poor scores) what should people be buying instead? Would be nice to have a list of "good entry level products" can you advise?
Yes so spray liberally. Also if you have an electronic handbrake beware of , sticking handbrake as the anionic reaction binds the pads to the disc. I take mine off as I’ve had it stick and not just on my car either, it took rocking in 1st to reverse to move it and some effort.
I have tried many products but snow foams are rubbish. I found Turtle Wax shampoo on a rinsed car works with a mitt. Meguiars polish if I have removed scratches with G3 (paste for tougher scratches) and sometimes 3000 grit wet and dry with a little Dove soap and plenty of water. Auto Glym alloy wheel cleaner (make sure you use the right one as one is for painted and one for not) finish off with Auto Glym tyre gel. Meguiars paint sealant works well and lasts longer than 3 months (you don't need to wash your car too much just rinse it off) My car is 2 years old and never been waxed. Paint work looks brand new as commented on by neighbours and main dealer. Car is a light grey. I did fix my previous Audi mid grey paint after buying it from Hereford Audi who had the car polished before I bought it. Two washes later and hazing on one side pretty bad. I was told it could cost £500 to put right but did it myself using off the shelf products for £120.
Hi Sir, How does a mobile car detailer without a water tank connect his pressure washer to the water supply? can he directly connect with Tap? if yes, then which tool is required to connect the pressure washer and tap? if there is another method to connect the pressure washer to the water supply, please guide me. Sir, I need your suggestions about it, Thanks.
Hi there, i know this is unrelated to the video but lets say i started valeting on a MPV would i need car insurance as well as valeting insurance seperately or could i just select business insurance on my normal car policy ? Also is motor trade insurance better than actual valeting insurance?
I have usef the Spray On Shine as a quick wipe & shine for years. But the tyre stuff is hilariously bad. I tried it once, decided to spray it onto a sponge and apply it that way. A light 5 minute rain shower 30 minutes later saw it off. Weird spray aside, I don't get why CarPlan thought it would pass as anything other than just water with a bluey-green tinge.
All they have to do is replace the wheel cleaner with a modern fallout remover and this would be perfectly fine. Doesn't even have to be a highly concentred one. Also ditch the tyre thing.
Hi Dave, I really hope this isn't annoying you ? As in an earlier comment, I asked for advice on what I should buy as a pure new beginner to maintain my own car. I've looked everywhere online, and Nilfisk plus the AVA are not to be found. Maybe everyone is watching what you're using. Seeing the results and everything has been bought up. Just a question, I hope you don't think I'm being cheeky, but if you have either of the items I would be more than happy to purchase at a fair price. I can organise the shipping to me here in Ireland. I know I could buy without using their names, the yellow brand, but because of the reviews, no, they're not for me. I let it with you if you need a few day's to see if it's possible. Thanks again you the man
Honestly I don't keep anything really apart from one machine at a time. Everything else I give away to start ups in the area. I just don't go public about it or I'd get hundreds of messages that I struggle to keep up with. 🙏
@@epicautomotivedetailing no problem whatsoever I really appreciate your swift reply. Again thank you for all the tips and tricks of the trade you give to ordinary old joes like myself. You know I said earlier about going to the garage and their are lads that will wash your car and may I add do a great job but theirs something that gives me a little bit more satisfaction when I get hold of the 2 Lance's. 1 for the foam and the other for water. I could spend so much time after seeing the results you have let us in on to see just how much better my interior and exterior will be. To be fair, I’ve used some supposedly premium detailing product brands qd’s that were nowhere close to demon shine and were 10/15 quid more expensive for a bottle half the size The rest of it is useless tat granted but demon shine is not a bad product and a little looked down upon gem. I used to look down on it to until I used it and you just can’t argue with it. It’s slick and it’s shiny lol
Not tried the Demon stuff but the CarPlan No 1 Gloss has given me beading for longer than anything else I've ever tried with pretty much zero effort - spray and wipe. Wheel cleaner is pretty good for the price as well, as it's a gel
I bought the wheel cleaner once because I ran out of iron fallout and desperately needed to clean my wheels. It literally did nothing. In fact window cleaner I had in my cupboard was way better... bloody terrible.
Think you are harsh on the tyre shine. I use it and I think my tyres look great. My criticism would be it doesn’t last long, but I don’t have problem of getting it all over the car like you mention.
Ive had one of these kits for ages but never used it until recently as im trying to use make space. Actually quite like the shampoo in my foam cannon after pre washing with infinity wax powerfoam as ive moved to a 1 bucket method combined with about 6 wash mits. I actually like the tyre dressing for the ease of application and think it looks quite nice on the tyre's. Just a shame that it doesnt even last 24 hours and 1 drive in the rain and it's completely gone. The demonshine is quite good as a drying. I just spray the whole car with it and rinse off, i dont even dry it with a towel 😂
Mate I honestly couldn't do it. The problem was the chemicals took over the channel. I wasn't getting content made so the views died off badly and it didn't make me happy. I was no longer having fun and it put too much strain on my family so I just closed it down. Infinity wax has a similar formula now with the new tyre candy. Not exactly the same but pretty close

Lol yeah we all have a bottle in the back of the shed somewhere
I'm watching you from Iraq. I've benefited a lot from you. Thanks for the above
Thank you 😁
Great video Dave you beat me to it the spray and shine isn’t bad I use to use it as lube I mean clay lube obviously 😂👍🏻
Cheers Paul 🙏🙏🙏
Sorted!! 👍
The shine is pretty good 👍
Meanwhile my first step into cleaning my car was going to the power wash at Morrisons with my mate and hoping for the best haha I don't even got a hose at home so that'll probs continue to be my way
IT is a good bargain quantity and pleanty of it will sell well in Australia Here in Australia when you get is a bucy , sponge ,bottle of car wash, bottle of washer fluid
What is the name of the brush used on 2:49 to clean the barrel of the wheels
I try’d the Carplan tyre shine a few weeks ago…it’s poo. I emptied half of it out and filled it up with silicone….now it’s good!
Yes I wasn't a fan of that one
I got the wheel cleaner half price and found it OK.. Used it up last wash using bilt hamber later expecting good thing's
Can't go wrong with bh
Could you do a review on power maxed products please?
Yeah I'll look into it mate
Really want the Ava p57 but it's out of stock again. Do you have any insider information as to why they have so many stock issues? Love the vids btw.
They came into the UK last Friday so they will be on the website again this week 👌
@@epicautomotivedetailing amazing thank you!
I recently just started my car washing bussness and im always useing them products and i find that thay work very well i have pictures of my mums car what i done on my youtube that im going to post now
Don't laugh. Your mother may be inside.
thanks for the video and testing Dave, testing the mediocre products, so we don't have to 😁. but you are right, we all started off with this kind of stuff, before we got to use AG, Meg's, Dodo Juice and a few others (got caught in the Chem Guys trap for a while 10yrs ago). Now we're a bit smarter, and using the best we have used/tested from TW, AMDet, AW and IW.
Dave, I have a customer who has scratches on the drivers footwell plastic, I’ve tried all sorts of things can you suggest something that might remove/ reduce these please
Autoglym magic sponge 👍
I bought two boxes for myself when they were going for £5 a pop. Good enough to wash my daily drivers at the time a few years ago. The tyre dressing is terrible, only slightly more durable than water as a coating lol.
Better than washing up liquid that I have seen some people use.
I can’t help myself and tell them what damage they are doing to their cars paintwork.
The only Demon product i brought was glass cleaner and it was crap it left the glass with smears won't even buy Demon products ever again. Love the channel by the way
Thank you 😁
Must be something you did then because I used it on my car mirrors, windows and windscreen and it was fine
@CrazyPanda688
I have been cleaning my own cars for over 30 years and any other glass cleaners i don't have problems with it was just this one
That's what I'm on a mission to find 😃
Off the shelf you can’t go wrong with Autoglym products. Or get hold of an auto smart catalogue, both good…..tried and tested.
Is it bad to get all the cleaning products on the brakes? Would it remove any grease or lubricants?
Big thanks Dave for this test ✌️👍
Thank you 😀
for what it's worth demon shine brings out a fantastic shine on my true red mx 5 for it being a spray
Wow what are the chances of seeing that Skoda in your garage?! I have recently worked on that car for the lady that used to own it!
It's off to Monaco soon on our other channel (epic car show) we love the Skoda
Think u should do the Goodyear car cleaning kit from B&Q next my neighbour suggested it too but yeah don’t think it’s that good 🤣
I've always sworn by the DS spray on shine, cheap, cheerful and works
Do a brand review of Boks London please.
Never heard of them, will look into it
Hi there, i know this is unrelated to the video but lets say i started valeting on a MPV would i need car insurance as well as valeting insurance seperately or could i just select business insurance on my normal car policy ? Also is motor trade insurance better than actual valeting insurance?
Hiya you still need valeter insurance to cover for damages made during the cleaning. And yes you got to notify insurers about the use of vehicle
@@epicautomotivedetailing thank you so much for clarifying, also i noticed you used a S Max at your beggining stage would a C Max work?
I have usef the Spray On Shine as a quick wipe & shine for years. But the tyre stuff is hilariously bad. I tried it once, decided to spray it onto a sponge and apply it that way. A light 5 minute rain shower 30 minutes later saw it off. Weird spray aside, I don't get why CarPlan thought it would pass as anything other than just water with a bluey-green tinge.
Another great vid Dave, great idea to try these products, keep ‘em coming! P.S. where’s Leo?
Great video love it👍 spray on shine makes you wanna giggle it's not that bad😂
Thank you 🙏
You can’t beat the yum cars products! Yes they are cheaper but it costs you in time instead. Stick to the yum stuff you will not be disappointed 👍
I always do use yum frequently but my audience appreciate it when I buy some random cheap bits and keep it fresh
I know good to keep it fresh Dave. Great video as always! 👍
You should try Supagard, a bit more expensive but good products
what jet wash are you using?
Could u do the ez car care kit that’s all over social media rn
Possibly in the near future. I have dodo juice coming to the channel soon
All they have to do is replace the wheel cleaner with a modern fallout remover and this would be perfectly fine. Doesn't even have to be a highly concentred one. Also ditch the tyre thing.
I have two of the bottles and I think thier pretty good
Its ok for winter protection, but theres a reason why high end cleaners are so expensive,
But this october to march is perfect for the daily driver
Dave you should try Simonz detailing products and review them
I never use it. But i do use the wheel shine. It's not bad
First products that got me in to cleaning my car my self, I used to feel like the kiddy with that set
Dave try the Halfords kit
Thanks haven't tried them yet but may do in the summer
that pink stuff is very good as a drying aid
Are sponges safe on car paint.
The demon shine is great as a very cheap rinse aid on cars that have zero protection
What is the best wheel cleaner out there?
I don't see anywhere to buy you a coffee ECT or even a monthly sub in patreon
@@patfalvey30 id feel awful setting up a patreon as TH-cam now start to look after me and my family so im happy just making these videos for people to enjoy 🙏
i use this stuff i always get the best results and it has never failed me
Nice that's what it's all about 👌
To be fair, I’ve used some supposedly premium detailing product brands qd’s that were nowhere close to demon shine and were 10/15 quid more expensive for a bottle half the size The rest of it is useless tat granted but demon shine is not a bad product and a little looked down upon gem.
What set do you recommend then?
Infinity wax do some excellent kits
@@epicautomotivedetailing is that what you use?
Banging vid as usual. How do you do your voiceovers they always sound so crispy
I talk into a load of pillows. It absorbs the echo
You should try out next duel autocare ltd 👌🏼👍🏼
Yeah I have their products on the channel
What happend to your epic cleaning products dave, loved the tyer cleaner
Mate I honestly couldn't do it. The problem was the chemicals took over the channel. I wasn't getting content made so the views died off badly and it didn't make me happy. I was no longer having fun and it put too much strain on my family so I just closed it down. Infinity wax has a similar formula now with the new tyre candy. Not exactly the same but pretty close
@@epicautomotivedetailing no problem family and been happy is more important than anything else
I’ve bought quite a few of these…. I paid about £10 a bottle. Seeing a multi-pack at that price hurts a little lol
B&M is the cheapest place at £19.99 but they don't do delivery sadly
@@epicautomotivedetailingluckily there’s a B&M just up the road. As someone who hasn’t really been in to car cleaning for the first decade and a half of driving this stuff was my way in. But now I’m getting into detailing sounds like I need something a bit better
