@@SDfighter1 Tbh outside of characters, Ultimate is not a hard game to top. It's got a lot of problems like buffer, no rollback, input delay, and Quickplay. Series staple modes are just completely missing too like All Star Battle, Boss Rush, Events, and Target Smash.
@@RobbertRobbert12345 all fair points. But the point of this game was always the novelty of just how many freakin characters there are together in one place. If there is another smash game, it probably won’t have the Sakurai touch, and it’ll almost certainly downsize.
I definitely want to shout out smash flash 2 for getting a lot of aspects about Sora that they are also doing, especially his special move with the 3 magic attacks, that looks like it was taken right out of smash flash 2
My friend genuinely was disappointed that Sora got in, and kept saying “Is he really worthy of being the LAST dlc fighter?” And I had to be the one to tell him, multiple times, “Y E S”
I have never played KH, but I think this is amazing just from a "How the hell did Nintendo convince Disney to use one of their IPs without signing all their creative rights away as the price?" Not even the US government could do that when they hired Disney to make propaganda lol. Games and fanbases aside this is a legendary moment for that alone.
Knowing that literally almost everyone thought it wasn't possible due to Disney, but realizing that all they needed to do was only get the original characters of KH with no Disney can make it possible but still difficult, I think this is a valid reason why Sora should be the final revealed character for Smash as a big shock to the world that Sakurai made it happen
I may not be a Kingdom Hearts fan, but even I know how crazy cool of an addition Sora is. I really want to try him out too! Wacky movement like his is rare in platform fighters, and the fact it's on a swordie too is really interesting!

Doom Slayer is reunited with Isabelle at last, and the Smash logo is reignited brightly behind Sora's epic handshake (sadly not seen in MockRock's video). The development cycle may be ending, but the celebration of gaming that makes up the _heart_ of Smash is going strong in all of us
To be fair, Sora's counter could be useful against moves with armor. Normal counters don't interrupt armored moves, but Sora's might since it staggers the opponent.
His magic cycle UI is also really similar to the command deck system from the handheld KH (BBS, re:coded and 3D). And then there's magic flash from KH3 as his up smash, etc.
The ballot being saved for ultimate makes so much sense. At the time the Banjo hype was crazy, same with K rool. Look who we got. Cloud was recently added to smash so it'd make sense for a ton of people to put Sephiroth Persona 5 recently came out and look who we got. And Sora was pretty much always popular so I mean yeah Chrom, Daisy, K Rool and Inkling all placed top 5 for the nintendo results.
I'm not into Sora or Kingdom Hearts personally, and was indifferent to hear it was Sora. But he looks fun and his stage looks beautiful, and the fact that he was THE highest voted ballot character is kinda nuts. I guess he deserves to be in if that was the case.

Overall, though, the ballot polls did quite well, as all the top characters in the various big consolidation polls did get into the game in some way. Still surprised Sora "won" the ballot, though. KH isn't a small franchise or anything but its not a massively huge one either, so you'd think something else would be pushing that instead. Especially since at the time of the ballot Cloud wasn't even in yet either. As for Sora himself... KH is okay to me and Sora is just overall meh. Looking back in retrospect, this really was handled perfectly (aside from that one leaked on 4chan). I’m so glad that they decided to make the last reveal trailer not so much a “Sora reveal trailer,” but a “Final Ultimate newcomer reveal trailer.” Basically what I mean is that I appreciate that they didn’t fill the trailer with a bunch of Kingdom Hearts references. Yes, that might have been a better trailer for the KH fans, but it would have been so anticlimactic for anyone who didn’t care for KH. Taking the route of making it a Smash celebration rather than a KH celebration was something that I don’t think people realize quite enough.

I hear people complaining about his dair, but his combination of Thundaga, Side B, Up B, the fact his dair can be acted out of, and his midair jump makes him good enough as it is, if he had a spike or meteor, he would be absolutely busted.
Thank god his down tilt isn't another baseball slide. I'll take a stall-n-fall over a baseball slide, especially since his stall-n-fall looks like it actually works thanks to it being actionable really fast compared to the others. Sora's counter might be good in doubles with Sephiroth after a shield break, or maybe with a powerful projectile like Samus' charge shot regardless of shield break status. I am determined to main all four SE characters.
You’re right, Sora’s hair looks incredible, and Shulk’s is all flat and stringy in Ultimate. One of the few instances where a character’s model looked worse than Smash 4 or a previous Smash game..
Yes KH is a lot Disney and Anime nonsense but in the best possible way! I highly recommend everyone who likes Final Fantasy and/or Disney to try KH at least once! It is a very special journey that no other series provides like KH does. You may not like it but if you do you will probably fall heavily in love with it like many of us fans did.
I think "gekki" means "thunder"; I went through a mega man x phase, & in x4, zero gets an attack called "raijingekki", which translates to "thunder god attack"
To put this in perspective, shinji hashimoto (one of the cocreators) accidentally let it slip that sora was going to be in smash 3 YEARS AGO. They really just had sora sitting in the back to put him in at the end.

He has some moves from later games but the majority is in fact like you said from KH1. But I think it fits because for a fighting game like Smash the attacks can’t be too crazy like Soras fighting style is in KH3 for example.

Literally the best counter I could've asked for, at least if crown essentially behaves like normal but still hits K Rool. I have a friend who mains K Rool. I'm tired of him winning. And he only learns about characters through fighting them. A poor decision on his part. ...still doesn't guarantee I'm gonna win in any way, but it's one interaction I'm going to enjoy at least. Also, his counter stuns them, I'm assuming that means super armored attacks will be stunned as well.
This is funny because just today I tried Dark Pit. Yeah that worked. It just, *really* worked. 😂 ...anyways so he switched to game and Watch and matches are alot more fun and even now, he's still ahead usually because idk Dark Pit yet.

Thanks for your understanding. As a KH fan since the first game in 2002 I can’t express how happy I am about Sora coming to Smash (wich I also follow since the first game on the N64). This is a dream come true and it is really sad seeing people hate this so much. I understand it’s disappointing for those who wished for something else but I think we should just be happy for each other. I mean I wasn’t hating when Joker, Terry or Hero got announced. Instead I was happy for the fans and that their games got represented in Smash.
I'm not saying there are rules for who gets into smash, but I am saying my two rules have still not been broken by a single character. Plus Sora just makes sense. Why wouldn't the biggest fighting game crossover of all time feature the mc of one of the most notable crossover games 1. Must originate from gaming 2. Tbf sora has a counter in his original game, and the fact they added the stumble is pretty cool.

Also some wacky multihits or long-lasting hitboxes just clang with the counter or straight up hit you, so this thing makes it more reliable altogether

Literally the best counter I could've asked for, at least if crown essentially behaves like normal but still hits K Rool.
I have a friend who mains K Rool.
I'm tired of him winning.
And he only learns about characters through fighting them. A poor decision on his part.
...still doesn't guarantee I'm gonna win in any way, but it's one interaction I'm going to enjoy at least.
Also, his counter stuns them, I'm assuming that means super armored attacks will be stunned as well.

I apologize for making that comment, I've beaten others with K. Rool and I've lost to K. Rool too. What matters is you're having fun ofcourse, losing is just part of the game

Did you know sora can counter wonderwing because of the stun in his counter?
Wonderwing can be grabbed, it's not fully invincible.
Kaclang however, is fully invincible, but Sora can counter it if he catches it in the air

Yeah, it's not being processed properly for some people. I've added a bit of unnoticeable blur for a moment with TH-cam's tools, which should refresh its processing, but it may take a bit.

Thanks for your understanding. As a KH fan since the first game in 2002 I can’t express how happy I am about Sora coming to Smash (wich I also follow since the first game on the N64). This is a dream come true and it is really sad seeing people hate this so much. I understand it’s disappointing for those who wished for something else but I think we should just be happy for each other. I mean I wasn’t hating when Joker, Terry or Hero got announced. Instead I was happy for the fans and that their games got represented in Smash.

@@AshenDust_ I'd say it fits because it's a game itself. You have to use controllers to make it function as it is a part of the game bundled with it on release. You can't play the game without ROB.

TH-cam is being weird with the processing on the HD version, happens every now and then for some reason. The original is in 1080p, it'll update here sooner or later but you may still be able to manually switch to it
Tbh I still think tabuu would be been a better character. The trailer definitely hinted towards it having them all be statues. Its cool that they managed to tame Disney but I think sorts playstyle is kinda boring
