Nothing will ever top Sora’s reveal ever. Not just for smash but for just fighting games in general. This was truly a momentous occasion that will NEVER be replicated ever. As Maximillian Dood said on his stream: we are living in a golden age for video games, and we’re never getting something like this ever again. That’s why we need to enjoy every minute of it.
If you don't do NG+, you need to unlock about 10 or 20 characters before the DLC characters are unlocked in World of Light (yeah, Sora enters on that list for World of Light), so... you're forced to use Kirby at least until then.
Sora’s announcement was literally a dream come true, everything I wanted to happen during the reveal happened: His clothes from KH2, DDD, and KH3 were put in as alternate outfits and ALL OF THE GAMES WERE ANNOUNCED FOR THE SWITCH (albeit the Cloud versions) It was easily one of the best moments in video game history, for me

I reeeaaallly wish people played Stamina. It removes Smash's novel appeal for sure, but it's also legitimately interesting how things change when used alongside altered knockback settings, weight, etc.

No joke, this reveal has to be the happiest I’ve ever seen you & other Smash players and reactors. Dragon quest got in, Sephiroth got announced, cloud got a rework in his final smash with his advent costume, a temporary new mode for sephiroth as a boss and now Sora (who's disney yes but also square enix). Honestly good on them!
Right? It's totally insane to think Square went from basically tossing us table scraps with Cloud to giving us Hero, Sephiroth, AND Sora! The DLC shot us from one Square rep to FOUR (three and a half, I guess, since Sora is a joint Disney+Square thing).

I remember that your channel was the first one I ever watched on TH-cam. I was like 11 on my dad's work desktop watching a lore deep dive video about KH 358/2 after I got it for the DS in like 2012.. This might be on off-canon fan-theory: 💡 WHAT IF... the universe of Smash has a *connection* to Quadratum? One not made from light nor darkness, but a universe of "fiction"? Though that universe was invaded by the forces of the corrupted light and darkness (Galeem and Dharkon), Sora had been invited, or better yet "summoned", to save all the heroes and villains from those corrupted forces? ...Pretty mind-blowing, huh?😮

I'm fine with Sora, not hyped myself but happy for people that wanted Him. I just am annoyed that some people who want specific characters go too far and attack people who got their characters. HMK is great and shows humanity where people on Twitter and other places don't.
Two major takeaways. 1) MARIO HIMSELF did the Honors, welcoming Sora not only to Snash, but his series to Nintendo (before all Nintendo got were spinoffs and aide stories). 2) If this were by some miracle to become canon to Kingdom Hearts, then it means MARIO COULD POTENTIALLY EARN A KEYBLADE. Never have I not known I needed an image in my head until now. Bonus: you know what would be really cool? If Smash data with Sora DLC could get you a Smash or Nintendo themed keyblade in each game

I am super eager for the 18th of October! First thing I will be doing that day is boot up my Switch and SSBU and purchase Sora's fighter pass, and play.
Man Smash 4 through Ultimate was really just one long ride with a 2ish year lul. And in that timespan I graduated Middle AND High School. Sora was the perfect way to end it.
I feel so vindicated. I guessed Sora before release. I also guessed Ridley and Sephiroth. Sora was the only one left that I said that would be joining that hadn't yet!
They laughed at us. We still had faith They mocked us, we still had faith They attacked us, and yet, we still had faith. All that faith paid off. Vindication is such a wonderful feeling.
Basically Disney still didn't... Nowhere in Sora's stage or music is a Disney character or world referenced. So basically Square Enix cooperated using the original Kingdom Hearts characters. Still amazing though. :)
Above all else, Sora being a legal nightmare makes his inclusion even more special. Honestly, a fair sum of us wrote off Sora for a valid reason; Now that we didn’t want him, but you are basically asking Disney to bend the knee and allow something they own to appear in a non-Disney product. And if you know Disney, The Mouse bends the knee to no man. But somehow, Sakurai was one of the very few people to achieve this impossible feat. Even if that knee was barely bent, that was six+ years to bring us to this shining moment. Maybe Square helped to sweeten the deal for the co-ownership, but either way, I’m looking forward to seeing how Sora will shake up the game.
Actually, it was both serendipity and enthusiasm for the idea of Sora in Smash on the part of all those legal parties and companies involved that made this possible. As Sakurai said, everyone involved was excited about this idea.
True. Out of all of the Keyblade wielder trio characters, only Aqua and Riku were able to earn their mark of Keyblade mastery by completing their mark of mastery tests.
I know that their are people who are mad that the final fighter is a sword fighter but in this case i don't care im just happy that my boy finally arrived.
When Smash Ultimate was announced I wanted Wolf to come back……and I got him. Before Smash Ultimate was released I wanted Incineroar to be added……and I got him. Before Smash Ultimate was finished I wanted Sora or Zarude(or both) to be added……and I got Sora. Literally the BEST Smash game ever. Xp

Though that universe was invaded by the forces of the corrupted light and darkness (Galeem and Dharkon), Sora had been invited, or better yet "summoned", to save all the heroes and villains from those corrupted forces?

I'm fine with Sora, not hyped myself but happy for people that wanted Him. I just am annoyed that some people who want specific characters go too far and attack people who got their characters. HMK is great and shows humanity where people on Twitter and other places don't.

Two major takeaways.
1) MARIO HIMSELF did the Honors, welcoming Sora not only to Snash, but his series to Nintendo (before all Nintendo got were spinoffs and aide stories).
2) If this were by some miracle to become canon to Kingdom Hearts, then it means MARIO COULD POTENTIALLY EARN A KEYBLADE. Never have I not known I needed an image in my head until now.
Bonus: you know what would be really cool? If Smash data with Sora DLC could get you a Smash or Nintendo themed keyblade in each game

I am super eager for the 18th of October! First thing I will be doing that day is boot up my Switch and SSBU and purchase Sora's fighter pass, and play.
Man Smash 4 through Ultimate was really just one long ride with a 2ish year lul. And in that timespan I graduated Middle AND High School. Sora was the perfect way to end it.

So basically Square Enix cooperated using the original Kingdom Hearts characters. Still amazing though. :)

Above all else, Sora being a legal nightmare makes his inclusion even more special. Honestly, a fair sum of us wrote off Sora for a valid reason; Now that we didn’t want him, but you are basically asking Disney to bend the knee and allow something they own to appear in a non-Disney product. And if you know Disney, The Mouse bends the knee to no man.
But somehow, Sakurai was one of the very few people to achieve this impossible feat. Even if that knee was barely bent, that was six+ years to bring us to this shining moment. Maybe Square helped to sweeten the deal for the co-ownership, but either way, I’m looking forward to seeing how Sora will shake up the game.

Actually, it was both serendipity and enthusiasm for the idea of Sora in Smash on the part of all those legal parties and companies involved that made this possible. As Sakurai said, everyone involved was excited about this idea.
Did anyone notice that only Riku and Aqua are Ace rank? I think that's because only those two are masters.
True. Out of all of the Keyblade wielder trio characters, only Aqua and Riku were able to earn their mark of Keyblade mastery by completing their mark of mastery tests.

Before Smash Ultimate was released I wanted Incineroar to be added……and I got him.
