    I have got to say, with the Q2, the new A1 and this Q8, Audi seems to have suddenly found some design flair from somewhere? A hell of a lot better and more interesting then the older boring plain designs. They’ve also gone nuts on tech!

    As always, a great review from Autogefühl!
    Just one tip for the editor though: If the presenter says something like ''as you can see'', it might be a good idea to switch to the camera that actually shows what the presenter is referring to. Like at 25:03, the presenter says ''like you can see, I am tilting my head''. I can actually not see this, because I am looking at the footage of the camera looking at the road. This does happen sometimes on your video's.
    Otherwise though: keep up the good work! ;)

    Thank you for the great review of a fantastic and beautiful SUV. On the downside, the fake exhaust is a real bummer. Also, Audi should have taken notes from Honda/Acura’s hard learned lesson that physical knobs/buttons are ergonomically best for audio and climate controls.

    Nice and interesting Review: The Intro was top!!
    The Singleframe of the Q8 and the new Audi SUV´s look very impressive - I like it 👍 I can´t imagine how dangerous the new SQ8 or the RSQ8 will look like. 😱😍 The strange thing is: The 22" rims look still too small.🤣 The new Audi models designed by Marc Lichte look even more refined than the former ones (e.g. A6) and they represent the "Quattro-History" of the four rings even better. The high-quality interior looks really futuristic and the touchscreen with haptic feedback is a good replacement of the “old buttons”. It is definitely better and easier to control than a “normal touchscreen” because you can feel your settings. 😊 In terms of light-design Audi is the benchmark since the new A8 and A7 got launched! 🔝

    The size is actually very interesting, seems to occupy the same in-between space as the Ford Edge, so it's good to have a luxury offering in this very particular segment. I feel like my oily fingers would have a field day between all the screens and the overwhelming amount of questionable black surface though. I prefer the interior of the Q7, right before they went full Star Trek on us and lost a lot of warmth and feeling of luxury. Great review as usual! Very thorough!

  • @markdc1145
    @markdc1145 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Very good looking car, not stiff like the Q7 and not awkward like the pseudo-coupe X6 and GLE. Completely agree with AJ, the depressions in lower valence are very strange considering the exhausts exits below the car. This obviously saves costs but then there should be no pockets which imply exhaust ports. Could be a last minute cost saving measure.

    Great review! It's also a great car with an amazing visible haptical quality. The downside is the design and ergonomy. My 80 years old neighbourgh will love it but for a younger generation it's to unspecific. What works great in the new A6 and A7 it's not happening with the Q8 and A8. Well - maybe i'm not the targetgroup. For me the sideview is looking like a way cheaper segment.

    • @AdityaJayaram
      @AdityaJayaram 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Robert Mitchell hi Robert, thanks for the feedback. I think these cars two are very different with different objectives in mind. Yes, they share some of the drivetrain, but are built on different platforms. The q8, while a good vehicle, isn't that much different in its offering than its sibling the touareg. Of course, the q8 has much better tech and is more luxurious, as it should be for the premium pricing. On the other hand, the a7 is full size sports saloon/fastback.. I personally like the a7 because i don't have use for an suv or off-roader. I would prefer a swift sporty sedan which handles corners better.. So, it just depends on what your requirements are..
      -AJ

    Great review as always but the Q8 looks so dull in comparison to the concept that I honestly thought it was a Q3 at first glance, which has been around for several years and is no looker itself. I think Audi desperately needs to embrace a new design ethos.

    @vitopetris6861 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    A false exhaust was not a good idea, but if everyone is doing this now, then Audi must aswell I guess.But technology is little to say impressive, on other side maybe they should keep some real knobs for climate, and not to go on full screens just yet.

    13:25 "silly sky blue cloud, why cant you have all the full screen?"
    Well, because there are technical limitations to rendering distance and quality, this is why LOD system exist. Problem with a MAP system is that you could see virtually an infinite horizon distance making the calculations impossible and the system crash. This is why you see that "strange silly blue sky cloud", because that masks infinity and reduces calculations. I didnt include in my explanation the accessibility and usability problems that could arise if the system would allow for an infinite horizon view...

    I don’t mind and it behooves me why people do. No one has been able to articulate why they care about fake exhausts other than saying a car cost too much to have “fake exhausts”. Clearly it’s an emotional issue for people but there is no logical answer as to why you should care about whether it’s a fake exhaust.

    Good review! Like most people I find the fake exhausts a mistake which should be avoided. Whilst the overall quality and inside space is very good, I'm disappointed in the boot space and the coupé style of the car. Either you have a lot of space (as in the Q7) and 'stationcar' looks of you give up some space (or better my dog) and you have a real sporty attractive exterior (as the Maserati Levante). Now you don't have either one. Sorry, I will not keep it on my list of cars I would like to drive. I also miss the hybrid version for ecologic and tax purposes!
    Anyway review is very good and complete!

    I don't get it why it's called the Q8 (talking about the number 8). It's not a luxury car when the back row is very sparse on features. For me it kinda looks like a Q6 or Q7.
    With how luxurious an A8 can be, I don't understand why the Q8 isn't. - But then there still is room for a Q9 I guess...

    I feel like the first gen Q8 was the best. Still looks brilliant for it’s age. This looks a lot like one of the smaller Audi SUVs.

      Francoberry And to add more its bigger than Q7 but because we are watching a video it looks small but it is big in real life . I've seen it once in Goodwood motor show last year in England . Its really huge and beautiful .

    It looks like a big Q3. Or a giant Skoda Fabia wagon. Audi does sedans and wagons well. But thats about it.

    If Audi can sell the Q8 in the US market, why can’t Volkswagon sell the Touareg in the US?

    Two things I wish car manufacturers wouldn't do.
    1. Stop with the fake exhaust.
    2. Stop piping engine sounds through speakers. If persons want to hear the engine, ROLL YOUR WINDOWS DOWN!
    And as for the speed at which tailgates open (which I've heard Mat Watson complain about numerous times), it's so the companies don't get lawsuits. PEOPLE ARE IDIOTS! I assure you if it's noticeably faster than that, many people will hurt themselves.
    Side note: headlights are at the front, tail lights at the back (yes, that was petty).
