  • Rhinowalk is based in China and has been making bags for around 10 years. In addition to motorcycle bags, they sell all sorts of accessories for motorcycles and peddle bikes.
    This is a review of their 40-60L expandable duffle-style bag.

    Thank you for showing us the bag more in detail. Those side hard board on the inside are for the extension, not to make the middle bottom even harder, but the make the extension bottom hard.

    119$ not cheap cheap , but way less$ than a top case. thanks for the review. most likely will be ordering one of these SOON.

      I agree, not as cheap as some others, but I think it offers a decent value/quality ratio.

    And yes, it's leaking rain through zip, that's why it has raincover for that.

    • @thegenxrider

      Yes it does, thanks. It's nice to know you have some time to stop and get the rain cover on before the water get's inside.

      @@thegenxrider I'd prefer to put it on at the start of journey if it's monsoon season. i tend to do it with my bag pack that come with rain cover. That being said, I still subscribe to the rolltop is the true waterproof / weatherproof.

    • @thegenxrider
      @thegenxrider  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RealFableFox In the UK we don't have many monsoons 🙂
      I agree with you, you cannot beat a good rolltop bag if you know you are going to experience lots of rain or some very heavy downpours like a monsoon.

    Just used one of these on the back seat of my GSA on a trip to the Dolomites . It performed well , though is high , so swinging your leg over is a bit hard . No complaints with it though . Thanks

    • @thegenxrider
      @thegenxrider  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree, feels a bit like you have an top box on the back at times.
      As you said, performs well and for the price, a decent piece of luggage.

    Excellent review of the features. I'm a little concerned about the soak test. I wish the hose had pointed toward the front of the bag, the direction rain most likely would come from. Also, with the bag attached to the bike with external straps, would the cover really provide rain protection. Thanks for the review.

    • @thegenxrider
      @thegenxrider  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! Good points.
      The cover is quite large and easily covers all of the bag.
      The only downside of these types of covers I have found is lifting up or off at speed.

    I really like mine but I find the hard boards in the side bow out under the tension of being pulled down/out from the tie-down straps. Am I doing something wrong?

    • @thegenxrider
      @thegenxrider  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Do you mean the straps integrated into the bag or additional tie-downs?
      If it's not well packed out, then the sides might bow when you strap it down.
      I use the tie-downs integrated into the bag, then use a cargo net over the top.

    much useful than typical top boxes. but i worry how can this be fixed/secured on the bracket compared to top boxes like Shad and such ehich are screwed down.like you can leave behind worry free when you park somewhere

      This is an on-and-off-style bag, so will always have its limitations as compared to a top box.
      As you said, you could always bolt it down or use something like the steel wire "PacSafe" cargo nets.

    Nice review mate - what's the internal storage width without the expansions? (so in 40l mode)

    • @thegenxrider

      @@thegenxrider Thanks mate - damn - if only it was 45cm unexpanded... or totally expanded (I have a 45x30 case I wanted it to fit). But I suspect expanded it's too big.

    Can you fit a tent and sleeping bag in it?

    • @thegenxrider
      @thegenxrider  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, if they are the lightweight type. If not, will obviously depend on the size of the tent and sleeping bag.

    • @jamesdaniel6907
      @jamesdaniel6907 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I just got mine today. It fits my 2 person dome tent but only with the ends extended as the poles are too long otherwise. My sleeping bag and inflatable mat fit end to end alongside the tent in the bag. All three together take up a bit less than half of the bag.
      If you have shorter poles (mine are 54cm long) or you just pack the poles externally you wouldn’t have to extend the sides.
      You could honestly pack an entire camping kit inside it.

      @@jamesdaniel6907 That's great to know. I also like that it's cube-shaped and the sides open up, which makes for easier unpacking of just a couple of items.

    if it cant handle 30 seconds under a garden hose then its just not waterproof. If you spend a full day getting rained on everything in that bags gonna be drenched

    • @thegenxrider
      @thegenxrider  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The bag also comes with a rain cover, so it should be fine. I was testing to see how much potential water ingress before you put the rain cover on. At 14.20 you can see the rain cover. Hope that explains the method to my madness 🙂
