  • I took a Vevor 30L ultra sonic cleaner and upgraded it with a recovery tank with filtration. This is an absolute must have in any shop. Links to parts below...

Try using Pine Sol, a common kitchen cleaner.
This stuff will clen carburetors without disassembling them, even without using an ultrasonic cleaner.
It is very safe, and cheap as compared to other cleaners.
Simple Green works well as does, Purple Power, but the Purple Power is very powerful and somewhat corrosive. Turns some Aluminum and zinc die cast parts black.
Simple Green is very safe for plastics and rubber items, as we use it to clean copy machine parts all the time by just soaking them.
I often put small parts in zip lock bags, with the appropriate cleaning solution, including mineral spirits, and fill the tank with tap water. The tank stays clean forever, and the solvent in the zip lock bag filtered and reused.
Heated ultrasonic parts washers are the way to go!!!
You might try some of the newer ecofriendly enzyme cleaners. They work best heated, and filtering them is not a problem. Oil is decomposed and can be legally disposed of down the normal drain.

Dang, those are some great ideas. I was planning on comparing 8 detergents, but I may have to increase that!

Just discovered your channel all I can say is WOW. I have picked up a few tricks or hacks (lol). Great job, I would suggest putting a thick plastic bag in the drum (commercial parts cleaner) to collect fluid and junk.

I use dawn dish soap and water. Works great.

Dawn doesn't have any corrosive problems like simple green purple power.

@@jmudd5449 agreed. I've ruined many parts in my younger years with purple. I thought I was clever once and filled a parts washer (harbor freight) with simple green and came out the next day to all the paint looking like I filled it with paint stripper. ;)
