There’s a transducer under the bottom of the tank that creates the ultrasonic waves through the solution. Though the manufacturer gives you a basket that rests on the bottom of the machine, it inhibits the transducer’s ability to create sonic activity. You could bend those basket handles to 90 degrees and hang the basket from the side of the tank so that it’s not resting on the bottoms of the tank and the machine will work better. Also, let the solution heat to max temp before you start the clean cycle timer. On the solutions, don’t use soapy solutions because thicker soapy liquids will inhibit sonic action. 50/50 pine sol and water will work better. To clean small parts get one of those permanent coffee filters with the wire mesh and that will work great. Good luck. Love the channel!
Great commentary. My experience over the past few years: I have used them from the small plastic Harbor Freight ones, about $65.00, very successfully to the ones up to the 30 liter one you have. The size suits me best, as a hobbyist, cleaning carbs and other engine stuff, is the 6 to 7 liter size. It makes a difference what cleaner you use. Purple Power, SuperClean, and Simple Green work well diluted. Be careful trying to clean carbs with that stuff, it turns them dark gray to black, and leaves an oily film on the surfaces. A dremel with a wire brush cleans all that off them though and polishes them up. I have learned to fill mine up with just water, and put parts in smaller sealed containers with cleaning solution, or acetone, or lacquer thinner, or gasoline, and that works great and doesn't dirty up the main water. Happy 4th Chad!!
You need the basket handles above the fluid. It gets hot hot. Did I mention, hot. When you're done fartin around. Go get that GMC that was next to the dodge running. : ). Thanks for the extra video. You made my day.
I have one of the smaller ones. The best cleaning fluid for carbs in my experience is Berryman Chem Dip. Pour some of that in there, and within an hour your carbs will come out looking like new.
Been fixing clocks for a living last 50+ years and using ultrasonic cleaner the whole time . Have used it on carbs as well and anything mechanical that I've been messing with. It's great. Watch out for some metals that may discolor everything in there. Mostly ones with zinc I believe. Experiment with different solutions. Actual ultrasonic fluid or Gunk. Lots of options
Great to see a review video that was truthful with nothing added for better content. Great job and glad to see a second kinda video this week. Have a great 4th. Enjoy with the family
We use Gunk Parts Cleaner in our ultrasonic parts cleaner. It seems to do a pretty good job. We use heat and sound. Also turn it on about an hour or so ahead of time to preheat the fluid. You will get it down pretty fast! Once you figure it out you will love it for cleaning carburetor’s and other things with small parts.
Definitely need to use 100% pine sol. Also, don’t fill it up so full, I usually only fill it full enough to cover what I want cleaned. Heat is the trick, get it up to temp before putting stuff in, or just let it clean longer so the temp get up to hot. I’ve cleaned some pretty dirty parts with my smaller version, which obviously doesn’t take as long to heat up, hence the reason for not filling up the tank to the top. Love the channel Chad, have a great day and happy 4th of July!
I use water, Simple Green, and Dawn dishwashing soap in my ultrasonic cleaner, it seems to work pretty good on carburetors. I fill up with water first, then add a 1\4 cup of Simple Green, and a couple good squirts of Dawn dishwashing liquid soap, run with heat on for about 20 minutes. Does a decent job cleaning them up, most of the gunk on inside fuel bowl is usually gone.
I bought one much smaller than yours when I had to DIY injection pump rebuild. Made a big difference to trying to clean things with out scratching up machined surfaces! Also stripped down diesel injectors, and it cleaned the nozzles up pretty decent. All I used was water and Virosol. Done a couple pumps now and quite a few injectors. A Good tip is not to put too much in at one time, especially if its heavy. I've had Good results cleaning pistons too by suspending them in the tank from above.
Hey Chad!I have a Vevor cleaner too. It’s smaller than the one you have and doesn’t have the drain. Perfect for lawnmower stuff etc. The heater needs some time to warm up. These are awesome units, just wish the temps were in Fahrenheit. Awesome videos bud!
Berriman's is great stuff!!! I use it on all my old brigs as well as other miscellaneous parts. Mustie1 uses it in his ultrasonic cleaner too with amazing results. He gets it steaming hot before He proceeds to dip carbs & they come out squeaky clean.
Good morning 🌞 thank you for taking the time and showing us all the results of your parts cleaner. It looks like it works 👍 I'm sure with a little experimentation you'll get it down. I hope you had a great 4th of July 💥 keep up the good work and the cool videos 👍✌️🇺🇲🎆
Pretty nice to see you taking the time to review that cleaner. Chad I think there's a little getting to know it kind of stuff going on here. I have seen people use different solutions in them, and if you set that heater up before you start it SHOULD heat that tank up. I'm pretty sure around 50c you'll get better work out of it, and I know people use the carb cleaner from the gallon can by Gunk, that works really well in there (the smaller ones at least) and also yeah if you give it a little scrub afterwards I've seen it really really loosens all the nasty off. It is the kind of thing you put stuff into when you're doing other work, come back when it beeps and it's much cleaner than when you put it in.. I think you'll come to like it once you find the right cleaning solution for the application you're using it for. Thanks for taking the time to review it, if you check out Lift-Arc studios on TH-cam Vevor sent him a couple 'welders' hehe and he reviewed them!! Awesome!
Heat and simple green aircraft (the blue one) will work amazing for cleaning carbs. Not toxic once it’s warm and safe on aluminum. Combo I always used was 50/50 simple green blue and water, heat, full 30 min cycle. Heavy rust use evaporust. Also cleaned spark plugs with simple green blue.
I would suggest a different cleaner such as simple green or purple power for a much better cleaning of grease coated parts and these tanks can be heated before turning the sound waves on. Glad to see that you got another sponsor. Happy 4th of July Chad..
Thank God your back I needed a fix u really need to make more shows I love watching u u make me laugh I need it I fight depression bad and u make my depression go away your the only way i get it to go away love u man
I build engines professionally and ultrasonic are probably one of the best inventions for cleaning anything. Depending on the solvent it's safe for any material. Only thing doesn't matter what solvent you're using, humans breath air. If you're gonna inspect it turn it off before putting your head and eyes over the solution. Especially when it's hot it can be evaporating and you'll be breathing it in getting into your eyes. For cleaning carbs the "ideal" way is to use different cleaners and I'm sure there's a million opinions in little plastic containers and water. Also keeps the float under water. Be sure to change your cleaning solution as you use it because the dirtier it gets not only does it no longer clean it can leave residue on your stuff.
Hi Chad, I strongly recommend to use the Gunk Parts/or Carburetor Cleaner. You will see a Big difference as opposed to the Pinesol. I promise you'll be impressed afterwards.
Great review. Try evaporust in the ultrasonic cleaner. It works very well on carburetor and other engineparts. I use heating at 50 celsius it helps as well.
I have the same cleaner. Make sure not to run it at too long intervalls as the transistors on the driver boards has cheap cooling fins. They get too hot and then crap themselves after a while. Mine lasted for many years. I didn't use it very often, but when I did, I let it run for hours at the time.
Chad-hope all is well. Enjoy your videos. Straight pine sol without diluting a must. Also need to get her as hot as possible before using with the ultrasonic blast. You will see much better results next time if you do those couple of things. Obviously several different degreasers out there to try. Pine sol I think is the cheapest and dollar stores sell it plus it’s friendlier to smell. Stay humble my friend.
I have one about half that size , I used a 50/50 mixture of water and concentrated Purple Power , works great .... As far as the heat issue , it needs about an hour or more to come up to temp before using it to clean parts ....
Use to use one just like it but smaller when i worked at a small engine shop they work great if it doesnt clean it good enough give it more time but we used some kind of degreaser made for ultrasonic cleaners but definitely use the heat on the machine it makes it clean a lot better.
I used an ultrasonic cleaner when I worked in the aviation industry to clean the grease out of wheel bearings. The Company I worked for used a chemical de-greaser. It would clean the bearing grease out in 5 minutes then I'd blow the degreaser off with compressed air. I have an ultrasonic cleaner at home and have used Gunk degreaser at home but it smells awful. I get Harbor Freight's degreaser that you dilute with water and it does quite well.
Use a smaller bottle filled with the cleaning solution and poke a small hole in it to equalize the pressure and let the air out. For floating parts weight them down so their submerged. Also heat is your friend I’d use it. Thanks for the review.
Super cool. Simple green smells good and does a nice job. But as fas as how to get aluminum rust scale out. I used oven cleaner for 10 min. And then threw it into the sonic. Worked really well. Keep up the great work
Hello Chad, I almost pulled the pin and bought a ultrasonic parts cleaner like yours last week to soak a Motor Craft / Ford carb off my 73 F250 but after watching some screw tube vids I opted for the $12 Harbor Freight gravity feed baking soda / media blaster, Yes-Sir.... Super cheap, super easy, brand new clean look in 15 min. Augh-Ya,....TNT-G
@@MrAmf4me If they did they were then blown out with carb clean & air in conjunction with piano wire or nylon brush kits you can buy specifically for carb cleaning.
@@MrAmf4me It will most certainly will dissolve. Glass and sand and other media are chosen for the required job, in the case of a rather delicate carburetor a much less abrasive media such as baking powder is the answer. I would make sure your air compressor has a water / moisture filter to keep your air dry, for obvious reasons. Cheers 👍
I just bought an ultrasonic cleaner a few weeks ago from harbor freight, seem to work fairly well on a lawnmower carb, I used some industrial cleaner Mean Green I got it at Walmart, good luck buddy
Mean green works great, it does heat up slow but if you give it time it will get hot and the hotter the better it cleans, at 55 c for 2 30 min cycles mine will make old crusty carbs sparkle

Got the harbor freight one , heater works great ,i pre heat water pour in an i use purple power , some peope say it discolors parts , maybe does maybe doesnt , personally i dont care as long as cleans , an it does , some times i run it thru a few times for best results
Hi chad great channel I watched all the videos . That a neat machine I notice lots of people use them. Wonder how purple power or super clean would work ?
The cleaner they say too use works awesome. But some other stuff will work. The carb cleaner in a bucket you talked about with that works perfect will look like new.
I have the exact cleaner. It takes to long to heat up so I use an electric heating coil to get my solution hot fast. It saves a bunch of wear and tear on heat unit in cleaner. Also I use straight simple green with no water.
Nice video, thank you. Turn up the all-temp-a-cheer and wait longer! Detergent loves Grease. That is why they put it in Motor Oil. It also corrodes Metal. A quick rinse will fix that. The parts run hot in the vehicle. Normal human temperature is about 97degF. Ron PTL USA
Throw your parts in while you're preheating the machine. That gives your parts a chance to heat up as well as presoak. Then run it I think you will find it cleans much better that way.
Hey Chad I have a totally unrelated question, Sta-Bil gasoline additive for lawnmowers and such, good or bad, what’s your opinion? 🤔 Thank you and God bless 🙏🏼🇺🇸
I'd like to see you re review it using 100% pinsol and getting it up to temp 1st. I just soak carb in straight pinsol in a bucket without a ultra sonic and they come out looking like new metal. I'd imagine heat and the ultra sonic with straight pin sol or simple great would be the ticket.
Chad don't use pine sol doesn't work the best need to use super clean or purple power straight don't dilute. Also can use Chem dip in it that's what I use in mine works the best in my opinion plus you won't have to run it as hot or as long with Chem dip. Great videos watch them every week.

Gasoline supposedly won't turn them gray. They fill the tank with water and put the carbs in a plastic bag or glass or plastic containers.

ultrasonic cleaners can get in pores and crevices that a brush can't reach. I've used them for years and for some jobs, they can't be beat.

Thank you and God bless 🙏🏼🇺🇸
I've never used it but people I know who have say it's good.
@@ThisNThatGarage thank you
Simple Green work really well, and use as high heat as possible.
I'm still on the harbor freight degrees are mixed about half and half of water and you will get a better results and finds all even
Will that thing hold a cylinder head
I had good results with using power purple full strength. Yea the heater lags a bit. But it does clean better by using heat.
Simple green works great in that parts cleaner.
Great job Happy 4th of July. Cheers from Jacksonville Florida 🌞
Love mine for carburetors.
If your going to clean greasy parts, I would use some sort of degreaser like superclean or purple power. Pinesol is not potent enough in my opinion.
I’ve seen several TH-camrs use these and swear by them, they always turn the heat on and Sleeperdude88 uses Pinesol and says it does the best
Pine sol and bleach are two of my favorite smells
use solvent consistent with dirt you want to remove vinegar works good on rust so on and so on try different things .
I been'a fixin' to buy one, maybe i will! Great video
Great information 👍 Happy 4th of July!
Chad don't use pine sol doesn't work the best need to use super clean or purple power straight don't dilute. Also can use Chem dip in it that's what I use in mine works the best in my opinion plus you won't have to run it as hot or as long with Chem dip. Great videos watch them every week.
theres a few other cleaners you can put in there. or use just water and salt. or vinegar
That will be nice in the new shop good review good video thanks Chad
