    Great idea and that's for the tip. Had a little laugh as well when you rolled off the boat 😄 thanks for leaving it in

    On the inflatable seats, tightening the strap improves the back support. And it works best if the seat back is curved into a U shape by the strap. But there is still a tendency for the strap to flip over the top edge of the seat on this kayak at times 😒. So thanks for sharing your solution to the problem! I’d wondered about using something like that, but had only seen ones with metal on the frames. These look like they work really well 👍🏻. My mom uses 2 foam gardening kneeling pads tucked vertically between the seat back and the strap. It helps, but it’s not pretty. On the plus side, then you also have knee pads to use while cleaning and deflating the kayak before heading home 😁. Intex should really do a redesign on those seats/straps for this kayak 🤔.

    It's not easy getting in and out of this kayak when it is on the ground for sure. But I am definitely going to get some of these stadium seats great solution. Apreciate this and your video.

    I am 6’3” and 248lbs I have had no issues with the supplied seats. The key is to move the strap to the middle of the back, curve the sides in against the inside of the boat and tighten the straps

    Thanks for the suggestion. The back support was the only reason I wasn't going to buy an inflatable kayak.

    Have had an inflatable kayak for over a year but the lack of back support has always been a killer for me! Just ordered this seat so hopefully it will help. Thanks for the tip!

    I've been troubleshooting the seat on my Challenger because the back of it has been deflating pretty badly (it's 7 years old) and this seems like a great idea, thanks!

    Thanks for your suggestion. An option to consider is adjusting the seat straps so the seat back leans forward and straps are tight. This works as well. Thanks again for your suggestion.

    Are you aware that you can adjust the back support on the original seat as well?

    • @zedwpd
      @zedwpd 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      He is aware and said as much. No matter how much you adjust it, if the strap is too low (and the height cannot be changed on this model) the back just bends over the top of the strap.

      @@zedwpd He was more or less using it as a lounge chair though. I'm 6'1 if I leaned back that far of course It wouldn't feel good on my lower back, not to mention the load on the straps wouldn't be good for the boat.

    Thanks for the tip, will try these on our next paddle. We have the Intex Excursion Pro K 2, same problem with the mushy seats and lack of back support.

    Good tip, I also didn't like the back support on this kayak too. Bought a hard light weight plastic seat from Walmart that was better but because I couldn't attach the base it was also leaning too far back. We do have stadium seats that will try on the next outing.

    Great Idea. Thanks. I wonder how it would work with the stadium chair under the inflatable seat. I remember the problem we had with the Intex Explorer seats.

    We ordered 2 of these kayaks. First trip was just ok. Seats that came with it were not great. So I ordered two of these seats and we
    hit the local river again. And it was okay-ish but the inflatable seat did not want to play well with the stadium seat.
    Really truth be told I don’t like the inflatable kayaks and wish I had not bought them. We
    don’t have good storage for regular yaks and I’m not going to all the hullabaloo of j-racks etc. I have thought about the folding kayaks but thorough research tells me it would not be what we wanted either. We will stick with what we bought but how often we will use them is the question. Not often.

      Hi Jaime, you'll see a link for one that I like made by Coleman in my description below. About $25 US. Any sporting goods store or even Walmart should have something similar. Happy paddling! 🚣

    Seen the design flaw and wanted to see if the seats had poor back support. Especially difficult for taller people I'd imagine.

    All you have to do in these boats is pull the backrest forward by clipping in and tightening the straps there is plenty of back support

    • @animalsfyi
      @animalsfyi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kevin, thanks for your comment. We did try several times without the stadium seats, but we found ourselves leaning too far back and it always became uncomfortable no matter how much we tried to adjust the straps. The stadium seats make a huge difference for comfort and now we simply wouldn't use the kayak without them.

    • @kevinwarren8921
      @kevinwarren8921 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      mine are brand new and I had only tried them briefly and I have to agree they probably could use some more support
