I'll give props to anyone willing to put their camera outside of the car they are driving just for us to watch. Great video and please don't do that too much. It wasn't even my camera and my anxiety was on 10/10
@@chrisbrockhurst a trick I did in the past with shots like these was to put a mask on the part of the cab that you wanna brighten up and adjust the mids. As long as the camera doesn’t move you wouldn’t need to key frame. I could never get the physical lighting to look the way I wanted to. Nice video btw!
Good video I also use a fat gekko 3 but set it up for auto photography of other cars - i mount mine on the roof and tether it it to my roof very similar to your set up
@@YoungBlaze I bet you could get away with 60FPS at 125 shutter since there isn’t any up and down walking motion. The movement is minimal so any artifacts would be as well. It would be interesting to see a test though
Hi Chris, Test and learn! Thanks for the sacrifices. Btw, I just got the Zeapon Micro 2 Plus slider yesterday and testing it with the Hyla Suction Cups on the windows indoor and they seem to hold well. I’m going to try and mount it on the car hood and see how it fairs. Will try it with my Gopro 9 and Insta360 1” first before having the guts to add my mirrorless cameras next. Check them out. It’s pretty strong.
@@chrisbrockhurst for sure without a doubt, I used friction arm in car, honestly trying to find a good in car vlogging solution with good picture quality, I see people do it maybe putting the delkin in the care is the way to go?? What are your thoughts if you don’t mind.. thanks in advanced love your channel, get lots of inspiration from it.. The friction arm was too bouncy and I didn’t have a safe place to mount..
Hey Chris ! The problem i am having mounting my phone camera is that as a result of small bumps on the road the end result is not as smooth or rather it is a bit too rattly.
Well done Chris, that's exactly the type of problem solving situations i like to play with. I'll admit the 3 cup & gimbal idea might be even better, although that much more risky. Looking at your footage also got my mind going and i was imagining a night shot going through a well lit tunnel. It could make a very dynamic scene with the neon light reflection's rolling off the windshield (see what i mean ?). I was also wondering, was it hard for you to get use to driving on the right side of the road ? (just kidding)
I just got a mount for my car. Any ideas on how to make it less jerky? I’m not sure it will support the weight of a gimbal. Did you end up using gyro data stabilization or just ibis? Thanks
Hi everyone, I mounted my camera fx30 in car and when the car started the video started to jingle and mingle on active stability selected. Only my go pro works good but fox fx30 I think we need something which can help in video stability like a Gimble or something
Thanks for the useful info! I just ordered the Delkin fat gecko single-suction mount to get some footage from inside the vehicle. I'm on a conservative budget, so I'm gradually building up my equipment and always seeking best-value solutions that don't cost a lot! If I like how Delkin's single-suction mount works, I'll probably order the triple suction mount in order to get footage from outside the car. I appreciate the informative review in your video! Godspeed and God bless!
Didn't even end up using the shot, BUT I learnt a ton, always be learning :)

Curiosity got the better of me 😂
Sceptical?..... Totally paranoid is how I would feel!
I felt the same way just looking at the camera chillin on the hood while he cleaned the windshield
amazing look.... love the radio .... but most importantly the footage came out so cool 😎 peace and love always ✌️
Following you is fascinating, your videos are getting better every upload!! You are unstoppable
so kind, thankyou
Brave brave brave brave man. Looked CV like a great shot, can’t believe it hit the cutting room floor.
That was complex but I can imagine the shot or what it could be. Very creative. The Peak Design strap was a great idea. Take care.
Nice setup. Glad it worked. I have a cpl coming today but to get rid of glare on my glasses from my light.
That’ll do the trick Greg
Good tip on the peakdesign strap!
Surprised it actually worked out ha

Good job. The light didn’t do much but I think you really made a smooth 9:19 minute video that I enjoyed. Like your style
the final result at the end is MONEY
cheers! I was happy with the result too
Nice. I have the TRI holder that I have yet to try. I'll mount it on the hood and zoom in a little. Thanks. This was a good start.
Amazing result for a budget set up. Well done.
A year after posting this, still satisfied with the mount?
That looks like a lot of fun. Great video, Chris!
Will this work on the freeway?
Do you have examples for shooting at night? I'm making a short mostly in a car at night. This was super helpful though
Would you perhaps get a similar effect by using a white diffuser, sitting on the passenger seat to bounce light from outside into the cabin?
Another affiliate purchase as an act of tribute to you sir. Thanks for the review!
appreciate you 🙏🏼
This looks so good!
Thanks man!!
Thanks for sharing Chris! I was looking for a reliable mount like this one.

I gave this a go in one of my videos a month or two ago! Nervous was an understatement lmao
THIS WAS AWESOME... "always learning".....
Looks awesome! And then some catalyst browse stab on that mug too
yuck! but you gotta crank that shutter higher than soulja boy , and just throws off the work flow

Murray. Flight of the Concords.
Hey Chris, can this mount be safe at highway speeds, say for example, 50MPH?
One question I’ve always wondered is, is it legal to record while driving. As in can you get in trouble if your caught filming
That works!! I’ve been trying to clog in the car but can’t seem to get food exposure with my GoPro, maybe I need to add lights??
GoPros have tiny sensors and the dynamic range isn't great BUT lighting will help hugely.

Also I have an A7s3 so that is my an option.. wondering if the delkin works on the interior as

I was getting nervous when he sat the camera down on the hood to install the suction cups 😅
Using a 16mm for this shot ??? ..is it good
Why not tie down the camera to the car as a fail safe?
Very cool video….I would probably never do that but I still watched it all lol 😂 lots of work. Nice one on the CPL….no magnetic one lol 😂
what are these mystical magnetic ones you talk of haha
@@chrisbrockhurst 😁
if I ever do this, im praying to baby jesus that camera not falling
I’m way too nervous to attach a camera to the outside of my truck
As was I, but it worked!

Which mounting plate did you use to attach the camera to the suctions. Is it the sliding mount included with the amazon one? Thanks!
Thanks Chris! What quick release did you use?

Id do this with a 360 or go pro camera but not with my Canon EOS R5... lol Gives me anxiety just thinking about it. lol
Put a vibration isolator otherwise your ibis and af will die
Low loader trailers or trailer car is the usual way. Acting and driving is a disaster waiting to happen 😂

I want to do this with my a7siii but my luck some random bird or some $&@! Will hit it 😂🤙🏻

Damn bro your car is dirty
as soon as I saw it was all plastic and no arri locating pin I left
sinceramente se ve del carajo
No way I will trust my main cam with any plastic suction mount....
That’s the purpose of this video. It worked flawlessly
i trusted it to hold my new born,
