    Thank you, so much for sharing! Have always sewn piping on bias. This method is extremely easier, and faster, with the same quality.

      Thank you for watching! Yes it’s nice and easy and we do it this way most of the time, bias does have advantages some times though

    What zipper foot is best?

    • @premierupholstery-upholste90
      @premierupholstery-upholste90  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use a dedicated zipper foot for your specific machine, we have them for ours which work very well but sometimes we just use the piping foot which works fine once you know how to do it

    Thank for this video. What foot were you using, was that a piping foot?

    • @premierupholstery-upholste90

      @@SibylleHyde hi and thanks for watching. Yes we used a piping foot for this. Luckily with this machine we can use the same foot for nearly all work so don’t have to change it very often which saves a lot of time

    So, the walking foot is actually on top of the high point?

    • @premierupholstery-upholste90
      @premierupholstery-upholste90  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it is on top but this is a piping foot which has a groove cut out to allow the piping to pass through and not get flattened while sewing along the edge of the cord at the same time, they come in various sizes to suit your needs and size of piping

    what is the type or name of that presserfoot that you are using sir?

  • @ruthkazingizi-chiponda2795
    @ruthkazingizi-chiponda2795 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do u sew right through the cord or just next to the cord

    • @premierupholstery-upholste90
      @premierupholstery-upholste90  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi and thank you for watching. You sew just next to the cord, the piping foot on the sewing machine will automatically put it in the right place and you just need to feed it through and keep the fabric strip equal as it goes through.

    Hello, what model number is that machine? Seen a few trustworthy brother ones around but unsure which have the walking foot like yours :)

    Is that a piping foot?

    • @premierupholstery-upholste90
      @premierupholstery-upholste90  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi and thanks for watching, yes this is a piping foot and on this machine we tend to use it 99% of the time as it’s so versatile even when not doing piping. With other machines we usually swap the feet when piping is or isn’t needed

    Why not cutting on bias, does it matter?

    • @premierupholstery-upholste90
      @premierupholstery-upholste90  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No it doesn’t matter, we very rarely do it like that and especially not when we are matching up a pattern like a stripe

      Thank you for that clarification. You've saved me a lot of fabric. I am also using the type of cord you've used there. What type of coding foot us that please. I have a Juki DU1181N walking foot machine and also a juki DL8700 heavy duty machine. Thanks.
