Great video! Pretty wild how gnarly the exposure looks even with Go Pro effect! It's unfortunate a rider passed away on Sunset Ridge few months after your ride 😞
Those are my local trails. El P gets super crowded on the weekends but weekdays are super fun and can be really fast without having to slow for others.
1600 miles in and I still love it. Pedals great, handles gnar really well, mechanically sound with normal maintenance.. I don’t really have any complaints. The thing is kind of a masterpiece. I’m 5’10” on an S3
@@mudkayak6305 yeah you’re in range for the S3 too. I tend to favor a more playful ride. Being 5’10” we’re always sort of in between M and L and I’ll often go for the M.
Awesome video! That's the fastest I've seen someone ride El Prieto. Weird question... But what was the teal colored item your friend was wearing on his right leg?
Hi, I’ve been watching through your videos for a while now and I’m considering getting a new Stumpjumper EVO. I just have one question for you that I cannot seam to find anywhere on the internet. How do you transport your bike? My one dilemma as to getting one is if it will fit my bike rack or not as I am sure the top tube is an unviable mounting point for my bike rack. Do you think or know if a adapter of some sort might fit? Also thanks a ton for all the amazing content and information! Wish I found your channel sooner, these videos help out a ton for getting back into the MTB season.
@@nickvarblow752 hey Nick, thanks for watching! Yeah check out my bike rack video because I kind of go over all the different ways I transport bikes. There are more affordable tray-style racks out there beside the 1up USA, especially if you don’t need a rack that transports 3+ bikes. But yeah, unfortunately if you have one of those racks where the frame hangs from the posts you might have some complications getting the stumpy on there. Honestly, those kinds of racks are kind of rough on your bike anyway so you might consider saving for a better one anyway. 🤷🏼♂️
Best way to get a clean run on Sunset is to do two laps. Kind of allows you to do inventory on both climbs and the first descent. Still sketchy though, especially given all the exposure.
You changed your braking due to the noise 🤣 I was doing the same thing yesterday! Don't want to be hearing those squeals! Also if you upload in 2K or better it forces youtube to use the better codec and there will be less artifacting on the fast motion.
www.tifosioptics.com/product/sledge-matte-black-smoke-ac-red-clear/ I like Tifosi glasses. They’re super cheap compared to Oakley, 100%, and other stylish name brands and they’ve always lasted a really long time for me.

Huge bummer. It’s wild to stop and actually look at the exposure because I don’t really notice it when I’m riding.

SO many hikers around there!
You know what? That spot on where your buddy crashed at 0:42 on your video, I crashed there too lol
Lol. Nice! You must’ve left some bad JuJu right there!
So how do you like evo? Also, size and height please. I miss SoCal, thanks for the memories

@@ShreddingSpree Im 5'10 as well, Specialized wants me in an s4 but I think S3 will be a better fit. Much appreciate you getting back to me, thanks!

Thanks!
The teal thing is just a compression wrap, like an ace bandage
"She smelled nice." 😆🤣

Oh shoot, I just noticed the bike rack video you made. It really surprises me as to how many topics you cover!

What geometry are you riding your bike in?
Slack and high.

There’s just always so much foot traffic on that trail and so many blind turns. I wouldn’t go full send on that even if I had a siren 🚨 on my head.

Hey thanks for the tip! I’ve noticed that the videos are falling apart on the higher speed stuff. I’ll give that a go
Switch back and forth between you and Ryan and have Ryan record you .
There’s an idea
What riding glasses are you using?
