What is the mod that slows down the time whenever you finish an enemy like in 7:26 ? is that part of some mod? i didn't find it in valhalla combat though..
Very useful vid. Even though it's not the style of combat I'm looking for, it has lots of good info and a base to work off. Thank you for the spreadsheet and links. I think I've only come across someone doing this once before. It's so helpful. QQ - Does the LoadOrderList actually place the mods and esm/esp/esl in order?
Last time i tried to add some combat overhaul mods i failed miserably due to not knowing how to configure animation mods, load orders and in general half the mods didn't work, however skyrim's been in my mind for quite some time, i'll try again with your recommendations and incredibly comfy load order. I have few questions though, 1) Last time i tried that and was using other video guides about how to mod in general, i learnt that due to anniversary edition being new it's not very compatible with lots of mods and had to downgrade version, is it still the case? Or can i no problem play on newest version of skyrim? 2) Due to me liking few immersive mods that impact the game in world building sense, like alternate start, few big story mods such as Faalskar, Beyond Skyrim: Bruma and few niche followers with small questlines. If the mods tell me i should have wedge them in load order in like beginning would that break the mod pack you prepared in the loadorder.txt even if they have nothing to do with combat, animation mods at all? I realize those may seem like a stupid question but i suck at modding in general, and manipulating load order and looking for mods that not only have incompabilities (which saves lot of troubles if it happens on start) but also seem to work just fine but doesn't work at all due to reasons of mentioned load order. So yea ultra noob here :(

Great video man, you got my subscribed. I was wondering. There is a fur cape you used in some of the scenes, it had lile a bear's head on one side. May i ask which fur cloak mod is that and where did you find it?
I really appreciate the effort you put into this video! It's tough to find new, well-explained content like this. I have a question: I've never played Skyrim before but got it just for mods like these. I've spent the last two months downloading, installing, tweaking, and searching for a good modlist, but I still can't find one that works well with my PC specs while keeping the game stable and looking great. I'm feeling pretty lost and could really use some guidance from someone who's been through this. Any help or direction to a good modlist would be awesome. Thanks!

Any alternative to Valhalla Combat? Valhalla's issue is it's fun, but it simply makes the game too easy. Parry ANY enemy and it's GG for them, you get ALL your stamina back and they are knocked off balance. I like being rewarded for a good parry but it's too much.
@@abyss8551 I don't know, I removed it. I know I fiddled with it a lot before making that choice. The issue is you can parry them and get an opening and the enemy can't do it to you. Just makes the game too easy once you get parry timing down.
@Cruor34 I don't know if you will read all this, but that can be regulated by having different combat animations play for different conditions if you're worried about timing. For example, if you have to use a complete mco moveset like Nordic or Imperium. You have 11 different potential movesets factoring in dual wield movesets. (Not counting shield movesets because they are kinda scarce). If you use OAR, you can have Nordic moveset only play on, for example, on heavy armor characters, while imperium plays on light armor. Or you can have certain animation sets play only for certain races to give more diversity, making it different every time so you don't get used to the timing immediately. Or have different moveset be unlocked via certain health conditions or based on skill level. It's a lot you can do with OAR to regulate this issue. Certain MCO/BFCO movesets are faster, so you can pick a choose what fits best for your experience. Of course, you can only have a certain amount of movesets be accessed by npcs because there's only so much you can do with the current amount of movesets available with a cohesive system you thought in place. With just the most basic option of using armor conditions movesets. You can have up to 33 total animation sets in the game. Which I personally think for most modded playthroughs would suffice. As far as parrying as a mechanic itself. I feel that it should be inherently a player only action. Skyrim's engine is still limited even with the amazing mods out there. Not to mention, there are other ways for Npc's to compensate for it with a few mods installed. Even in games where enemies can parry like Dark Souls and Sekiro. Enemies go into a stance or only parry after certain specific actions. The carian knight before Rennala's boss only uses parry during certain actions. For the most part, at least, another example would be Sir Alonne. I think trying to replicate npc's parrying would involve lots of scripts or is just simply too difficult to do at the moment. Npc's benefit from the difficulty setting along with having an absurd pool of Hp, Stam, Mag, etc. A long with the added benefit of enemy groups and certain npc's being immune to certain effects. Especially in modded skyrim, because the mods I currently have installed sometimes make this game enjoyable but also a living nightmare. I have ultimate npc dodging that has a module in the modpage that distributes dodging to every humanoid npc based on classes. Not counting draugr and such. Also, look up Mathieuthedunmer. Don't know if it's Matthew or Mathieu. Either way, he makes mods that use condition sets to have varied animations. One of his most notable mods is his Ebony Warrior mod that triggers a different animation set when the Ebony Warrior he hits exactly or below 50% threshold. You can try Hellblade timed block or Blade and blunt. But in terms of things that make enemies challenging outside of that, I can't recall. Mathieu/Matthew also has a guide on how to set these up conditions on his modpage. I think they could help you give your game a little more nuance and add difficulty with different parry windows. There are some gripes I have with Valhalla, but I don't think the parry system is one of them. I'm strongly against the projectile deflect mechanic in the mod because it seems cartoony. With the setting, I play on 0.05 Perfect Parry and 0.15 (0.10 if I feel like going crazy timed parry. Fighting groups of enemies is rough for me, and even when I hit a perfect party, I have to disrupt my tempo to parry the other enemy as well. This gets more apparent with the OAR thing I was talking about. Not to mention them dodging aswell makes fighting a lot more dangerous and unforgiving. In terms of 1v1 scenarios, I can understand where you're coming from, even with the 50% HP condition. If you have been playing like this for a good while on a playthrough, it can be a bit much. But me personally, I don't think the majority of people who play with this low of setting are going to get off a perfect parry half the time, especially in group based scenarios. Missing timed blocks with also have me stamina broken into a knocked state. So I feel it's a good balance mostly. That's just my consensus and advice. I don't know if you still use Vallhalla, but I just felt like you're discrediting Val a bit much. Combat mods are only a foundation. They play a huge role, but I don't think they're a deciding factor for how difficult combat is. Hope this information helped, though.
Is it safe to uninstall distar experience midgame and install mco instead? Would like to test out different mechanics but don't want to ruin my progress.
You can change the conditions of OAR mods so they only apply to, for example, a certain faction/race or even certain NPCs. Therefore you could use Skyrim Animation Pack as the base moveset for most NPCs but have another moveset apply to, say, Stormcloaks.
