$20 keyboard guy for real needs to price himself higher, he's worth way more than that amount. The $80 is another story, you price your board that much for what's basically the same IF not worse than a stock RK61?? This guy is tripping for real.

@@LewisToh I'd honestly say that I would pick the $20 any day of the week. The price-to-value ratio compared to the $135 one is just plain out better but the $135 has my trophy for better aesthetics.

this is the issue with Fivver. people completely undervaluing their work. that $20 keyboard build had to take at least four hours if they lubed the switches and stabs, meaning they probably made less than $5 per hour, which is criminal in my opinion. not even counting the fact fivver probably took a cut of that... so yeah. as a professional creative outside of this youtube stuff, I can tell you that Fivver really devalues freelance work across multiple industries. I wish it was priced more accordingly.

He might be somebody who has a lot of fun building keyboards and considers the Fivver thing a hobby. He doesn't have an excuse or space to build more keyboards for himself, so he builds them for other people, just charging for parts plus a token amount.
@@fwiffo While that could be the case, the issue with that argument is that not every freelancer agrees with that sentiment. Then, that person drives down the price for a custom built keyboard, ruining it for other freelancers. This is a horrible business practice and it hurts entire industries, even beyond fivver. for example, graphic design. "oh, i could pay you your rate, or i could go on fivver and get cheap labor for pennies", then, the overall market price goes down, and people can no longer make a living wage off of their craft.

4:26 Interesting, I don't like the sound at all and would have guessed $20 one. Shrug. Guess I just have different tastes and am a noob. Just got my Keychron Q3 today and absolutely love it stock, although I plan to do some mods just for the hell of it and replace the key caps. But I am very satisfied with it. It's the best keyboard I have ever owned and feels amazing to type on.
So how exactly does this work? You still have to give them additional money so they can buy the mechanical keyboard and other parts right? And then they assembled it for you and then they ship a complete keyboard to you? So all this $20 $80 $135 is just for their services and does not include the cost of the keyboard parts?

$20 guy undercharged, $80 guy......Should have payed you for taking that mess,$135 guy is one of those guys who tries to sell a kbd67 lite with PE foam on ebay for $450. Imagine charging extra to foam/tape mode. BRUH those require the least effort and the materials and cost literally pennies per build.
