I’ll definitely be incorporating these tips! I noticed that doing a 10 minute stretch routine everyday completely cured tension in my joints . Thank you!

It is really funny that I saw this book, because my fitness path is actually very close to what the author describes when talking about the change of fitness. That just pumping weight and running on a treadmill until exhaustion is not the answer anymore. And that is exactly the same result that I saw when I went to the gym. It was not a very good way of staying limber and plain gym work on the machines did not take into account that mobility is getting much more important. In his new book he describes not just the muscles, but also all the other tissues in the body and he says we better learn about our anatomy because it will help. And that is exactly the same place I got to, after quitting the gym, creating a health plan that addressed a more efficient way of staying fit, and learning more about the anatomy of all the joints and muscles. I will first thing now check all anatomical areas of any fitness goal before I even attempt to gain more strength and flexibility.
Gym is out for me now and I am amazed that the author is talking about that exact same subject.

Thank you for this interview. I have been to many different chiropractors and the one that sticks is the one who spends 30 mins with me with a combination of physio exercises and adjustments. Also what reduces my joint pains is IF and changing my diet to more veggies with meat. Less rice. Walking and using my rebounder trampoline has been a game changer. Thank you!

I went from being SUPER healthy, SUPER active, running circles around my 3 kids & they couldn’t even keep up w/me (at 5,7,9), to 1 day waking up feeling like I hit a brick wall at 100mph. I was only 28. Drs thought I was lying for over a year & upon an X-ray (after exactly 100 dr visits) the tech literally asked me “was you in a bad car wreck?”… NOPE! I LITERALLY woke up 1 day a diff person in extreme pain. Found out my L5 was falling off & over the years back issues have worked their way UP my back. The ONLY SINGLE THING that I could think happened: I took a “recommended jabbbz” in late 2009. The pain got SO BAD that in Jan 2015 I was tired of living. They REFUSED any treatment, telling me that “YOU CANT HURT LIKE YOU SAY YOU DO”… WHAT?! I don’t have respect for the docs I HAVE to see: DUKE & UNC. They don’t care. I’ve had them mess my female organs up, to be met with “this is a YOU-issue, not something we done” & “Duke docs will take up for Duke docs”. There too, I went from being NORMAL to NOT NORMAL for the rest of my life: the 1 thing that happened was something THEY DONE, a procedure THEY DONE WRONG. NO lawyer will take on a case against Duke! They’re the WORST!
My back is so bad that I was told IF I gain weight or fall wrong, it will paralyze me.
So currently, autoimmune disorders are associated with those MANDATED THINGS… so, I think back to when I took a SUGGESTED-THING in 2009 & went downhill VERY FAST in other areas like my skin for example... Now having over a dozen issues w/my back, skin issues, teeth began to literally crumble & break off, & so much more- even bedridden or couldn’t walk. My 5 year old was making me PJ sandwiches & getting me something to drink. That’s NOT how it’s supposed to be! I’ve been miserable daily since this all occurred. It was a domino effect of other things that then became my back. I’ve done so much research into the ‘WHY’ & I’ve only ONE conclusion: it appears to be side effects of something a Duke doc suggested I needed in my arm one day. Fibromyalgia is so bad, amount of arthritis is “concerning” the dr said upon a MRI.. when I cried seeing that X-ray, the dr literally was a smartass & asked “why are you crying”? I do have 8 years of a medical background & I KNEW that if I messed up any, that I could be paralyzed with the L5 sliding off. Who can raise children that way?!
NOBODY goes from being a 10/10 on health, body, mental & everything being in perfect condition to falling apart completely WITHOUT anything to cause it. It makes me furious. Pain eventually becomes a mental issue, bc you HAVE to realize that you can’t do what you want or even what you used to do. Going from being active 24/7/365 to not being able to do ANYTHING… is BEYOND depressing. Then I was told my “depression was causing my pain”… I was never depressed until I was in pain 24 hours a day & when the Dr told me this I almost snapped bc they KNOW it was probably something they did!
Pain meds don’t even work for me. It makes me so mad to feel like my life ended at 28 years old. I’m now 40 & IF I ever tried over the years to force myself to workout, go walking, exercising anyway I could to stay healthy… I would pay physically for days or weeks to follow. Something is very wrong, I have the proof on MRI, but the docs want to ignore it. They simply do not care. But they’re always happily wanting to try to give me meds that don’t work. In 2013: 13 meds, NO narcotics, but things that LITERALLY put me into a state of narcolepsy! I went thru that for 9 months, I thought I was dying & my kids were so scared seeing me in that state. I quit everything THEY suggested & that narcolepsy issue went away completely.
I am better off with NOTHING going into my body, I still force myself to go out to exercise, although running is no longer an option for me, & praying. Mentally, I’m in a much better place, I’ve tried to accept this life I’ve been given, but it makes me so mad bc whatever did happen, it took life from my kids & that’s not fair to them. I’m limited on what I can or can’t do, 10lb lift limit, BUT CAN NOT get disability although all my diagnoses are on the list. I can’t give up, I won’t give up & if you too are in extreme pain 24/7, I’m sorry!! This is not normal, there is MEDICALLY NO REASON why anyone should have an “autoimmune” disorder, unless something foreign is in their body causing that reaction. Be safe, MAKE SMART CHOICES when strangers with degrees tell you what THEY THINK will be good for you. Only YOU know what’s good for you & ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS research these suggested things WAY BEFORE saying yes!! ❤️🙏

though I don't know you personally but I was touched by your experience with doctors that regard themselves as semi gods. Completely agree that each patient is different and need to apply common sense when it comes to the one body we have. Wish you faster recovery and time to care for your kids. Please don't give up and all will be well as long as you stay proactive.

I understand and empathize with all you have gone through sometimes we trust in doctors and think that it’s gonna go one way and then when it goes a rye, they’re not there for us. But after going through a grave disease and heart situations they have me on all these medications my hair was missing, him I was depressed, I was looking old; what I did was did an immense research on how to heal my gut, used food as medication by fasting and and eating healing foods-including getting 8hours of mandatory sleep…Prayer and meditation all those things are turning things have turned my health around for me immensely. Also look up fecal transfer they had great results on people who are going to auto immune disease and fecal transferring that has changed microbiume and peoples good and turned around some of their illnesses it’s worth looking into. However never give up your life is worth it and your kids need you.

I am sorry for all ur pain..Doctors are narcissists and never accept the flaws in their practice
Plz start physiotherapy and for pain, start turmeric black pepper lemon tea first thing in morning and then after 30mins have a breakfast
Eat a whole plant based or meditarrian diet or whole food plant based with little fish on the side..include alot of anti inflammatory foods in ur diet ..do medidation , keep yourself busy with reading...start walking ,long walks...do hot oil massage on ur back and shoulders...do hydrotherapy

There is no excuse in this day and age for not knowing, as a middle age person i change something about myself on a regular basis to prevent issues. I quit smoking, i cut back on sugar and soda especially, i changed my diet and took away most fast food. When it comes to stretching and exercise i have always done that but as i age i do more. Most peoples real issue with these things is laziness its not that they dont know.

In my twenties the question from people was “Why are you exercising? You don’t need to lose weight”. Thirties the statement was that’s admirable. I don’t have time.
Forties it was I know I need to but…
    Early fifties - crickets.

Yes, it is, and it is really funny. Because I used to be one of those people that did hard workouts in the gym. Lots of aerobics, weights, and I thought that was the way to go. Until my joints spoke up and certain muscle groups gave me problems. My body told me to better go about it differently.
I am now concentrating on more stretching and it is very very different from regular exercises. The new exercises often look very simple and often one would never think they are exercises and it is just very very different, but I think I am on the right track.

Thank you so very much for this - I had bilateral knee replacement 6 years ago and I have 2 desk jobs so I sit 12 - 14 hours a day. I listened to this yesterday as I was driving back from a long weekend away where I was completely immobilized from an intense hip impingement flair up. It is so bad, I can barely walk, I have to life my leg into the car! 2 years ago, I was walking 3 miles per day, 3-4 days per week, then this hip impingement started and I’m so frustrated! I bought your book and have been doing a few of the stretches and I’m hoping it will help me enough to get me out of this intense pain! Thanks so much for this timely information!

Hi Lori! I read your comment and I felt compelled to say something. I also had a total knee and tibia replaced at 13 years old due to cancer. I wish that someone had told me the importance of stretching back then. Now I’m in my 20s and my whole body was misaligned and it caused me severe hip pain. I began to stretch every day for 10-30 minutes and then I tried pilates classes. I learned many functional pilates movements (in proper form) which I can now do at home and it has helped so much! After a couple of months of stretching and pilates I can walk daily for 2-4 miles without limping or hip pain.. I hope you continue to persevere through this routine because it’s really worth it! You will walk pain free again. Best wishes to you 💚

There is nothing worse than battling sudden injuries that hamper us in the way we move. It is hard to describe. Because just one little injury or condition can hamper us in unimaginable ways. They make someone look much older than they really are, when for instance they are limping. It is very very tough because on the inside you know if it were not for that injury you would move very differently. But one has to get educated how to best help themselves and I have listened to so many patients that got messed up with operations and tons of meds.

Clean the house, declutter, stop yapping, gardening, growing vegetables, volunteering with the poor and needy. So much to avoid pains and diseases. Obeisity, Diabetese, depression can be eliminated when you think about others as much as yourself.
