Great tips...I do get stuck and trouble is I watch you tube and check pinterest and see too many things and keep looking and watching instead of getting busy....crazy things spark my interest and then look out I'm back at it again. Cute card with the smoshing!❤
I hear a lot of demonstrators say they case the catalog. Can’t say I do this, but I do watch various demonstrations and take inspiration from that. Thanks Wendy.
Some very, VERY interesting tips you have there, Wendy! When I started stamping and making cards, Covid had just turned the world upside down, so no classes for me. However, through Pinterest, I found SU and TH-cam. There are SO many demos out there who are great teachers! That was 4 years ago. I'm still new enough that Pinterest is enoughy to rejuvinate my Mojo. LOVE the ink smooshing, will try!
I so agree…we are forever learning. I have only been making cards for a little over a year. Thank you for taking the time to share your expertise with us. ❤
Thank you for the tips. I will CASE other cards , you just copy without thinking , and that will spark my interest again Also I get a collection I’ve recently bought and prep it, by fussy cutting papers and cutting card toppers and papers to size.
I made a list of all the things to do when I'm struggling and keep it in the first section of my planner. It includes websites, names of my favorite design team members, and ideas. One of them is Pinterest where I've created boards of my favorite designs. Sometimes I'm just not in the mood or nothing excites me so I use that time to organize, clean, or print pics. Thank you for these tips i definitely have some new techniques! Oh and I love your shirt!!
This was too cute!!! It made me think of the "wheel of fortune" or the card wheel from the program you were just on. I think my Mojo got hit by a speeding vehicle while crossing the street illegally!!!! I got TWO boxes of SU today. They've been in the next town for a week, but today is the first for UPS, and they're only delivering to main streets, and close by houses. Our weather has been so bad that schools have been closed for at least a week; the 20 or 30-something idiots that hotrod on our road got some rude awakenings when they slid sideways. I'm bad because I laughed. Today was the first delivery in a week, only because this Chick had chains on her tires! She said there's cars in ditches, and that the cops said they aren't coming any more to fix things because these folks were told to stay off of our road. I guess that motto still rings true, "I'd Walk a Mile for a Camel," since there's a store on our corner. I got some cute things--the bees, bee dsp, and punch - are adorable. I'll use that along with the "Adored ..." dsp, and the "bird dsp" to do Valentines for the residents at the nursing home where my sister works. Poor little folks--almost half the population has Covid again. My sister is an R.N., so she usually treats them. I really don't think they were given the most recent Covid Booster. The smooshing technique looks fun--it can also be done by dipping a fan brush in each wet inked area on your mat, and gently tapping on the brush handle; wash brush, go to next color. I like the small "cells of color" the techniques give. Then I use Versafine Clair inks and "silhouette" stamps to make a card.
