I use double sided carpet tape(very thin and very tacky).I prefer this over glue since SG can make hard spots in the foam and cause the foam to split.

Glueing foams works very well in 8scale in bumpy loamy condition and helps gain grip

I saw another pro do this on a different video and he used 2 sided tape to hold his foam in place instead of glue

Tires used in R/C competition are defined as follows:
Rubber: A tire molded using rubber or similar synthetic material. Tires may be smooth,
spiked, or treaded. Foam inserts are allowed but may not be bonded or glued to the tire.
Pre-built rubber tire/insert/wheel combinations are allowed as long as inserts are not
bonded or glued to the tire. cheater video

Glued to the wheel, not the tire. Very big difference.

Interesting. I was always told to try not to get glue between foam and rim

Yup. Worked in a HobbyShop for over 20 years and I never once heard about glueing foam to rim.

@@johntuffy5721 Only if you glue the foam to the tire. It's right there in your post above..... It specifically states that the insert can't be bonded or glued to the TIRE.
