45 degree rotated banks of DIMMs AND dual SSDs rotated to like 60 and 30 degrees, overlapping each other, to allow two in the chassis. That's "our airplane is about to explode if you don't fix this" engineering, not what you generally see in a commercially available product. Love it.
This is me 90% of the time. Last few days I only realised it was almost daytime when I hear birds chirping and thought it was from the Discord stream but it was some on my outside window sill.
I love this stuff. Everyone else is covering RGB monstrosities, Windell doesn't seem to know that stuff exists. I don't understand most of what he's saying, but boy oh boy is it fun to look at.
I could serve my whole extended family nationwide through segregated vms with just one of those zen 5 racks... That'd be so amazing if every family had one plex / admin / VPN / web host / and backup provider in house. That should be the future, families like clans of yore operate intranets through one relative to secure their family's content and internet access.
Oh yeah, on cameras, GH7 out the other day. Now with modern autofocus, new sensor, 32 bit float, and all the joy of the GH6 handling. Reminded because SSD recording.
08:35 It's even more interesting than that. That's 8-channel memory when you have a TR Pro processor installed. It's not clear whether or not you get two DIMM's per channel with a TR processor. One other difference clear from the specs is one of the slots being PCIe 5.0 with a TR Pro processor, but 4.0 with a TR processor. There's no user manual available for download yet for that board.
14:24 Imagine for the 9700G, they supported CXL memory a 3rd channel to feed the bandwidth starved APU. Or, preferably, had special motherboards and a 3rd memory controller, i mean they have the pins for it, each dimm uses a most 288 pins(even though many of them dont connect to the CPU) and there are like 370 extra pins over AM4?
I'd love to throw 3x48GB DDR5 8000 dimms into a board. Those AMD APUS have god tier memory controllers. 8700G hits 8000 in gear 1 CR1 just by enabling XMP? Wild Sure the chip is hamstrung by both needing to share between a CPU and GPU, and that CPU being bandwidth starved with each core having 1/2 the cache as the 7700x meaning each core is putting more pressure on the memory leaving less for the GPU. Its an amazing feat to be able to run memory that fast(IIRC someone got to DDR5 10600MT/s though i dont think it was gear1), but its a disappointment for it to trip over the starting line from AMD hamstringing the chip so badly. How much extra die space would 32MB of cache be AMD? How much extra die space would a 3rd channel require even if it was CXL only? I doubt it would push it over 200mm² But for that extra 20mm i'd pay $450 for a good all-around chip. Put it in a handheld, oh mama thats a screacher, probably more efficient too by not needing to hit the RAM as often staying in cache.
Could you find an AM5 motherboard that offers 3 x PCIe Gen5 x8 slots from its 24 available CPU PCIe lanes instead of using 8 of them for two x4 NVMe slots?
Ok, so AM5 can fit 3x Zen4/5 chiplets, assuming Zen4/5C are not too much larger, we could in theory have 3x16 core chiplets in an AM5 socket. Does that mean we'll have a 48 core 96 thread 2.5Ghz base clock EPYC 4955? Probably no until Intel releases an all E core LGA 1700/1851 with 48-60 E cores. Lack of competition, breeds stagnation. We are fast approaching the time where 16C32T has been the max for desktop longer than 4C8T(Lynnfield/Clarkdale to Kaby Lake)
That MSI D3052 is perfect for a high performance unraid server! Too bad it doesn’t have more pcie for expansion. A dual slot gpu would cover that second pcie slot though :(
If only the FSP Twins Pro redundant ATX PSUs would use quiet fans, a proper fan control and higher efficiency. Their noise levels are bad, similar to older rack-mounted ethernet switches.
you are just mocking me at this point .... all i have been wanting for years to upgrade my pc is an 8 ram slot motherboard witch they don't make for general public with the pretention that it's hard and overhere they are making 24 dimm motherboards WHAT THE HELL
With enough pcie slots why even bother with onboard nvme?? It's such a waste of space when a high speed nvme could stand in a slot vertically without constraining your build physically. Just let us bifurcate several slots ffs!!! Let us split our lanes with expansion cards, I hate thanking board makers for fixed layouts when they have every capacity to let me sort out my own build 🤬
I know you're a server guy and all, but i am SO SICK of AI trying to get shoved down our throats at every single turn. No normal consumer will take advantage of it nor should they try to. And big companies don't really need it anyway but still jump on the train because they can't imagine a world where they actually have to work instead of letting the computer work for them
The 45° rotated motherboard is delightful insanity.

Thst was amd epyc actually, maybe a snafu assembling clips
Wendel: sun is up, so it's probably day time... relatable
This is me 90% of the time.
Last few days I only realised it was almost daytime when I hear birds chirping and thought it was from the Discord stream but it was some on my outside window sill.
Said It many times already but wendell's enthusiasm for this makes me happy .
Wendell in his element @Computex.
MOAR!
And just like a kid in a candy shop with a bag full of cash. 🍬💰🤣
I love this stuff. Everyone else is covering RGB monstrosities, Windell doesn't seem to know that stuff exists.
I don't understand most of what he's saying, but boy oh boy is it fun to look at.
What computex needs is a grumpy sleep deprived and jet lagged Ryan.
I doubt Ryan's ever been farther than one state away from his cats 😜
I see a lot of electrical engineer blood sweat and mostly tears
6:57 those diagonal slots feel so wrong and efficient and i love it
7:07 the "just like meeeee (≧▽≦) "
killed me xD
I love the dripping sarcasm about AI :)
Go for it Wendell! Explore Computex as much as you can! I'll soak up every second of footage. 😁
ALT title: Wendle shows ur cheap 2030 Jellyfin server
Yea

I would watch an all day stream of you doing these type of walk arounds...
14:45 Dramatic Spotlight has Dramatic Wizard Hair Timing
Amazing to check that equipment out thanks for sharing.

That phone charger with storage is kinda genius
I want that so bad. It makes perfect sense, too.
Did the music at Computex kill you? @25:00 sounds really uncomfortably loud. Or was that edited in?

Nevermind AI, the future is in Tulips.
They way Wendell's eyes light up when we he says "I want to test that"
Very cool, enjoying the show floor videos.
Yes you definitely need a crew, and yes I’m available to go to computex 2025!
Thanks a lot, that was awesome!
Hope you're having a great time, Wendell!
Wendell, take me to Computex next year and I'll carry the snacks and remind you to drink water 💜
what was the CXL being used for in msi's server demo ? at 14:28
Samsung and micron both have E3.S-2T CXL mem expansion products coming later this year
@@noname-gp6hk yeah finally, but what are the capacities being demoed and for what they were demoed for do you know?
32TB single slot HDD available, and yet how much does AWS charge per gig in S3
Wendel Squad rolling out!
Skip to 25:06 - 25:11 for the only interesting item. it is like a Petrol Head ranting on and on and on about Diffs at a Geneva Car Show.
Wow Tyan. No one talks about Tyan any more. That was cool to see.
Awesome as always Wendell!
Gigabyte with the only new trx50 board... Would have appreciated a closer look 😢
Wait for hands on review
Thanks for visiting Gigabyte!
Wasn't Wendell with Tech Syndicates. 😊.
Crazy density compared to when I first started working on servers. What times!
5:45 morse code anyone?
the density in those server is insane. i thought i was hyped enough for am5 server and ecore xeon but now i understand im not exited enough
Could you find an AM5 motherboard that offers 3 x PCIe Gen5 x8 slots from its 24 available CPU PCIe lanes instead of using 8 of them for two x4 NVMe slots?
asrock booth next?
10g lan over usb ? :)
Wendel is the raid boss at this event XD
When Wendell talks tech, I lose all self respect 🥵
6:27 I wonder if this is due to AI integration into the engineering cycle
Siphorex... sounds like a trip to the doctor is in order!
does CoolIT have anything new? wonder why these companies went to the trouble of designing their own cooling.
Would love to see a full atx version of one of these am5 boards. So far every vendor seems to be going micro atx.
That r113-c10 is really interesting!
Excited for the CxL (specially CxL.Memory) for tests in compiling UE projects. Can you ask MSI to make some TR/TR pro boards supporting CxL? :)
Ok, so AM5 can fit 3x Zen4/5 chiplets, assuming Zen4/5C are not too much larger, we could in theory have 3x16 core chiplets in an AM5 socket.

Awesome new hardware.
Love ya Wendell!!
5:09 Imagine being that one person who drops a CPU in one of these sockets 😇
I'd rather be just one out of 10 billion people who can all afford their own.
That MSI D3052 is perfect for a high performance unraid server! Too bad it doesn’t have more pcie for expansion. A dual slot gpu would cover that second pcie slot though :(
Wooooo computex baby!
Have you really watched Computex coverage without seeing Wendell The Server God ?! 🤔
Guys, I think Gigabyte might have the first Zen 5 servers??!??!?!?
Como niño chiquito con juguete nuevo.
Damn do I keep getting confused.
So Zen is now at 5 and Xeon at 6.
Who will get to 11 first? 😂
If only the FSP Twins Pro redundant ATX PSUs would use quiet fans, a proper fan control and higher efficiency. Their noise levels are bad, similar to older rack-mounted ethernet switches.
looks like anyone can be a server provider
I will never understand why they play super loud music at conventions where everyone wants to talk with each other
Can I be your camera guy for the next Computex? I want an excuse to go to computex 😂
I’ll volunteer to be part of ur crew
Servers? Yes, please. Rack mounted? No, thank you.
Is Xeon 6 faster than Epyc?
It depends . . .
This is the first video covering gigabyte ive seen so far. They must not have much interesting this year
Bitwit did a video covering the gigabyte consumer stuff, they have some nice looking motherboards coming.
Then the power goes off.........
Ai auto route did the server layout 😅
I'm so fed up hearing AI all the time, I really hope the bubble bursts and takes all the shysters with it.
The probably use ai to design those layouts. lol.
you are just mocking me at this point .... all i have been wanting for years to upgrade my pc is an 8 ram slot motherboard
witch they don't make for general public with the pretention that it's hard
and overhere they are making 24 dimm motherboards WHAT THE HELL
The constant noise and annoying "music".. Just imagine a whole day of that.
