00:30 C Train is running late so they sent this Train Express. 02:10 A Train sent local for service due to lateness of the C Train now on the Express Track. 05:33 Most likely to check and make sure announcements and information. R42s were stored in various areas . 10:50 If you noticed on the J line, the Conductor is in a different operating position then on the NTTs. This is because the Conductor can't operate the doors from the Train Operator's end. 13:06 MTA got smart and did away with the Strip Map Displays and went with the Universal Stop Displays. 13:50 Anytime a Door is malfunctioning, the Train Crews disable the door from operating so it can be fix later when it goes back to the train yards. 16:17 Anytime the crews want to change the announcements, it has to restart like that and they adjust it from there. This minor issue is completely fixed with the R179s. Only line that's really affected by the R179s is the J. A and C still has all the extra equipment to use in the meantime. J runs slightly less trains due to the car shortage.
The black and zebra boards in the middle are for the conductors. Once the train stops, the conductor points at the board before they open the doors to ensure that they visually see which side the doors are supposed to be opened on.
13:22 well I’ve been on an R142 6 train that had the 4 map on the board. My aunt noticed that first. I was switching from an R62 6 train cause they made 125th street the last stop due to I don’t remember the exact reason. Probably because of track replacement or construction.
R40 is a slant version of the r42, and the r42 are a flat-fronted version of the R40, the r42's are also similar to the R40M, which is a flat-fronted r40
The reason the board is there (you might have seen in some of the other videos and in this one at 11:53) is that all conductors (at the middle of the train or back on the G) have to point at it. I don't know the full reasoning but it's how conductors show their awareness at every stop.
An R40 is the original version from which the R42 was derived. They came in slanted format, then the slants got taken out for safety reasons, then the 42s were built after the pattern of the R40s without the slant part (called R40Ms). They had really cool, long skinny doors between the cars and light floors. The “R40Ms” used to run on the (J) back in the 1990s which sounds cool, there’s some videos on it
A R40 is a car you will never see in service. I believe all of them have been dumped into the ocean. The R40 Is the train that was before the R42. It was almost the exact same, except for one major difference. The R40 front and back cars had I think a 45° angle on the front.
One time are used to be in 149 three grand concourse doing taxes and then I took the full train but it said to Burnside Avenue and then it said it was going all the way to Woodlawn

The m train you rode was brown cose it was going to metropolitan av and it was on the brown m platform and I have a suggestion take the s to the d to the b to the q and m
Relax. R179s are going back to their “signed” yes i said signed R179s were signed for 4 lines to retire certain trains which are R32s and some R46s and all R42s R179s arent going anywhere else but A C J and Z It has been confirmed by MTA they will be back in service in Spring 2020 All of then
So the R179s don't even have lines other than the A C J Z programmed in them? Say a service change causes an R179 to be rerouted via the E to WTC. Does that mean that the train can't announce itself as such?
Joseph Krol the train is programmed with the same announcments and program system as the R160 so it can do any other line just fine. But those trains are signed 2 main lines. The Jamaican-broad line and the 8th ave line
So right behind the church Ave station there is a small yard where 4 trains get stored when one needs maintenance they go to the ENY yard witch is at Broadway Junction or Coney island shop
If you guys pause at 10:16 you can kinda see a face reveal on the right side of the screen. If you pause at 10:20 you can see the side of supertoe’s face 😌

R40’s were slant type cars that ran until 2009 and were replaced by the R160. The other variant is the R40M which is very similar to an R42. R40’s ran mainly on the 6th ave line but they would pop up on the 8th ave line as well. An R40/A is a train that ran on the A C J M Z and L from mid 1950 and until 2008 Until it’s Brother and Sister R32/42 took over the A C J Z for the R32 and J/Z R42 and the R143/160A took over the L
for where to now: (R) start at DeKalb Avenue to Whitehall St - South Ferry for the (1), then to Cortlandt St, walk to Fulton St - Transit Center for the (4), then to 149 St - Grand Concourse for the (2), then to Times Square or 34 St Penn Station for the (A), then go to Far Rockaway - Mott Avenue. The R40s were in service from 1968 to 2009. The R160s replaced them
U meant r179s
@boygamer100 thebest why did you say the, r179s replace the r32s 2 times? Also, the the r40 slants got replaced by r160s too right?
@boygamer100 thebest I hate the r160s too be honest.

The black and zebra boards in the middle are for the conductors. Once the train stops, the conductor points at the board before they open the doors to ensure that they visually see which side the doors are supposed to be opened on.
It is also used to let the operator know where to stop.

You could see an R46 (G) which is weird. Also on the (N)/(W). Because Coney Island Yard where the G runs from is having some interesting transfers.
The transfers are because Queens Blvd is installing CBTC, so the r46 is getting replaced with the r160, and the r46 is going to the other lines
That train was an r42 not an r46
Did you know R46 are on the G train. And also on the N and W lines. R179 E train did actually happened when it was rerouted via the C line

R40s were known as slants, because they have slanted front and back
In 2019 Me and my brother took a rare R160B E via C line to broadway Junction lol
Here in Philly, we call that stuck door a "derp door".
Is this the day recently when MTA screwed up all the trains (more than normal, and on a weekday)?
