What you could do next time instead of trains is just transfer stations which would allow you to make it out of the Times Square loop
Try to catch an R142 1/3 train at 96th Street, or catch an R179 E/F train at Briarwood. I bet you they are really hard

You should do the delays and if there is a train with a delay take it in what direction but if it’s the both directions wait till it comes to take it
