The reason F Express service between Church Av and Jay St. is only 2 trains in the AM, 2 in the PM is neighborhood density. It's largely brownstones while south of Church Av. it's mostly private houses and low story apartment buildings (except for Borough Park). Coney Island is dense, though multiple trains are accessible there.
Here's a good itinerary so you can possibly check out the new LIRR M9s! (G)(7)(LIRR) 1. Start at Hoyt-Schermerhorn 2. Take the G to Court Square 3. Get off and transfer to the 7 4. Take the 7 to 61 St-Woodside 5. Get off and change to the LIRR 6. Take the LIRR to Jamaica and do trainspotting!
ShortzYT Transit & Gaming That won’t work. In the MTA analysis, this was mentioned: Current Infeasibility of Express between Kings Hwy and Church Av A one-way peak direction express service between Kings Hwy and Church Av, with locals generally originating or terminating at Kings Hwy and expresses operating through from or to Coney Island-Stillwell Av, is not feasible given the current track and switch layout at Kings Hwy. Modernization of the Kings Highway interlocking has been programmed in the current capital plan, and is planned to include the additional switches required to allow for smooth operation of a one-way express service on this segment upon completion after 2019. However, the marginal impacts of this express segment would lead to approximately equal numbers of passengers losing time (from longer waits) and gaining time. Moreover, nearly all of the benefitting passengers would board at stations between Stillwell Av and Kings Hwy, where most passengers already have nearby access to alternative express services to Manhattan. Most of the passengers between Kings Hwy and Church Av, who are more dependent on the Culver line, would only have local service and therefore longer waits. Also, the section of the F line between Jay Street MetroTech and Church Avenue is NOT the crosstown Line. It is the Culver Line. Originally, this was the South Brooklyn Line, which a much more applicable name for the whole line. Crosstown runs from Hoyt-Schermerhorn to Court Sq, with the trackage continuing to Queens Plaza.

Got up early to catch the two AM express trains, neither of which had the diamond on, but looking from other videos it seems like that the second pm express had the diamond. Anyway nice video!
When the IND subway was built, there were no free transfers to the BMT. So that's why the express stop is at 7th Ave. instead of 4th Ave. It wouldn't have made a difference in terms of transfers, so they spaced the express stops what they thought was the best distance apart.
Ok so i have an suggestion, start at Bowling Green and take the 4 or 5 to Fulton Street, then take the A to 14th st, then take the E to 42 ST Times square then go to the 7 train and take it to Court Square and the last train is the M and Q take the M to 34th Herald Sq and Q to 14th st union sq thx
I truly hope that you KNOW that the NYC subway system was cobbled together from 3 separate transit lines (two privately operated, one city operated), as well as consolidations from other transit and commuter lines. Most of the cobbling together was done in the 1940's and 1950's well before the MTA came into existence in 1968. So when you ask, "How come the MTA did this, or did not do that" - most of the time it was because "it" happened BEFORE the MTA existed. Unless it was something done related to the Second Avenue Subway project and related northern Queens lines, or the expansion of the #7 line to Hudson Yards - the newest subway lines since tbe mid-1970's - everything else pre-dates the MTA. The Independent Subway was built on purpose in the 1930's to not connect well with the two privately run subway lines, except in the cases where by design the IND subway was going to take over the route. In fact the full various plans of the First System (partially built), and the Second System (not built except where it crossed the First System) would have done away with much of what we call the subway today. Read your transit history!
Jimmy sataz 4 The only lines that need a diamond are the 6, 7, and F, because they have express service alongside local service of the same designation, whereas the other lines do not, such as the 5 line when all of its runs are express alongside the local 2 train runs.

steamy memes You suggesting having the Kings Hwy short turn go express between Church Avenue and Kings Hwy? Did you read the snippet from the MTA analysis I attached saying why an express section through there is not feasible at this time?
Not bad, but here's a secret to research - WHY did the local tracks of the IND Crosstown line break away from the express tracks before 15th St Prospect Park and then rejoin them before Ft Hamilton Parkway while the express tracks head toward the station under Prospect Park. There were at least two easier ways to build this line through Windsor Terrace.
