I had a roommate who was a carnivore. She would drink mugs of melted bacon fat with butter in them instead of coffee or tea. She would also leave gigantic black poops cemented (not exaggerating) to the toilet bowl several times a day. And she smelled bad ALL THE TIME

More likely she is just swinging from diet to diet as nutritional deficiencies come up. The body absolutely craves fat. Combine that with the fact that a lot of vegans aren't getting the nutrients they need, it isn't surprising that she might have some problems after some time and she looked to carnivore diet as a fix. I really think what diet works is almost exclusively down to genetics. Some people probably can thrive on a vegan diet, some can probably thrive on a carnivore diet, lots of people won't thrive on either.

People think so simplistically. The carnivore diet may very well offer people relief of medical problems as well as improved overall health. Now, this may come as a result of eliminating unhealthy, processed foods as well as foods that someone may have an intolerance to. The ISSUE is that these benefits are had at the cost of eating a lot of meat and fat, which is known to, in excess, cause cardiovascular problems. The beneficial aspects of the diet very likely could be isolated independently, while still maintaining a normal, healthy diet. It may be wholly unnecessary to include the “carnivore” part of the diet, which needlessly exposes people to all of the health risks associated with a diet very high in meat and fat.

My aunt was vegetarian for most of her life, but when she was 50s, she had to start eating fish and meat, each twice a week because it affected her health. She ended up at the hospital. People who want to be in this kind of diet can do whatever they want, but what I hate is how they get mad when you tell them it's not possible or healthy for everyone. I'm talking about vegan, vegetarian, and carnivores, ect. If you don't agree with one, they think you're either a avid meat eater( I eat meat rarely) or that you're vegetarian. And get aggressive. But it's true that vegetarian is way healthier than being a carnivores.

The doctors were baffled at how either of them were able to walk and be alive in front of them. This tiktoker's not far from 400. The main problem with people getting sick on a strict vegetarian diet nowadays is the lack of information: most people unfortunately as omnivores have no idea what they are putting into their bodies and when they turn vegan they have to question themselves about what to eat to get certain vitamins, etc. in order for the diet to be efficient (when it comes to health).

But you cannot thrive off of meat alone, especially if you're only eating one or two types of meat. Variety is important in any diet. In particular, primates are quite often highly herbivorous animals, so you'd think they'd associate a high plant diet with being more primal (which would actually be accurate, as our ancestors were even more herbivorous than us.) But nope, they think the natural diet is a carnivorous one... it makes no sense. The natural human diet is mostly tough, fibrous roots, nuts, leaves, and various meats. Berries and other sweet fruits would also be pretty common depending on the season and the region. And unfortunately for tiktok carnivores, most of the meat the average caveman would get, would probably be small animals like insects... Sure they tried Proton Pump Inhibitors and other medicines, but none of it worked. What I discovered thanks to carnivore is that my IBS is actually caused by a variety of food sensitivities. Basically, I'm sensitive to almost everything I ate my whole life. All that processed garbage: maltodextrin, sucralose, aspartame, annatto, red color XXX, and more. You might ask "Why not just cut those things out and eat plant based?" Well, unfortunately I have more health issues than IBS. My back pain, shoulder pain, and mental health issues require I be in Ketosis to get relief. Once I cut out most carbs, and most processed garbage I'm basically left with carnivore. I can have about 25 grams of carbs a day or else I break my ketosis. For reference that's about a cup of rice, its about 100 calories worth of carbs. Fr. But I'd say it's mostly food intolerances and not neccessarily allergies. Those can be incredibly sneaky and hard to discover on your own, but perfectly capable of making you miserable.
For a personal example, I'm intolerant to milk protein and sunflower oil. Those two are in everything - literally. Stuff you'd think has nothing to do with them contains them. Even if I somehow avoided them by instinct I'd still encounter them without having the slightest idea. I was just miserable all the time and I stood no chance to figure out why.
Eventually I was recommended to take a blood test specifically for food intolerances. And when I did, my values for those two were several times what's normal, despite me not having had them recently. I started to avoid them and read labels - and what do you know, my quality of life changed drastically for the better.
Had I just followed some extreme diet that restricts me to only eating meat or vegetables (no butter / margarine), I probably would've felt better compared to how I felt before, yep. Those usually don't contain milk protein and sunflower oil (unless fried). But that wouldn't be a testimony to how healthy that diet is, it's a testimony to maths.

I'm so baffled at the concept of eating like this, completely ignoring the crazy health problems; the flavors and textures all being meat every day would drive me insane. Sometimes I get cravings to eat lots of meats in a meal but by God I need veggies, fruits, grains, carbs, etc because that variety is the most appealing part of eating to me. I feel like I'm a lot more likely to become a vegan vs a carnivore simply from the standpoint of the variety you are allowed to have on the diets.

If raw veggies and (especially high fructose) fruits irritate your gut (as they sometimes do mine), just cook them and slowly reintroduce, make sure to chew and eat slower, a bit less volume etc (this is what I struggle with and it’s easy to blame the food when it’s stress & volume and eating too fast that makes digestion bad😅)

@@hawawah8671 This is actually not disputed. Meat contains ALL essential nutrients in abundance - and in forms that are readily absorbed by the body. No so for plant foods. Go look up the nutrition value of beef - it's off the charts.

@@hawawah8671 Your vitamin C requirements on a carnivore diet are reduced drastically because glucose competes with vitamin C for cellular transportation. No vitamin A from steak, but you can get it from other meats. Fiber is not a nutrient. It literally cannot be digested by anybody. Vitamin D can also come from other animal products. Calcium can come from other animal products (dairy is considered carnivore) Iron, same deal. You don't need to eat a pound of liver, just a small portion every week is fine, or you can just take supplements.
No food on Earth contains *every* micronutrient needed for health.

Hey dude, you can be a healthy Vegan. You just have to eat balanced and take B12 (this goes for everyone really). Love the channel man.
This person is just someone with an eating disorder, like most "extreme" diet people.

Exactly! btw, B12 would naturally occur in the soils of our vegetables, but modern farming destroys this.

Came here to say the same. Seven years vegan, and I eat really well. I do eat some junk food too, but a ton of fruits, veggies, seitan, tofu, etc. I love it and I'm never going back. It's all about the animals😊🥰
