    I travel this route, at least once a year. I can not imagine flying coach, I am actually surprised to hear you slept well, I am not sure I would fare as well. I will say this tho, do temper your expectations for what you get in coach, you are paying 1/4 less then the front, and you can opt to buy more options. Thats the trade off, less comforts for more dollars saved. Still, thank you for this perspective :D

    Catering actually looks better than what you get on Lufthansa lately

      Also took a Lufthansa long haul flight recently and would actually say LH's meal was better.

    I travel this route twice a year. I really can’t think how your slept well. I’ve travelled business and premium but economy is a very hard slog.

    Interesting video. Just a note that, as of 2024, Westjet serves Terminal 4 in Heathrow. For passengers, that means slightly longer flight connections to the other terminals and different onward travel arrangements landside.

    Thank you for a very comprehensive trip report. What is your favourite trans-Atlantic airline?

      Air France is the best in my experience.

    There is a great deal of accessible, courteous transportation available for GENUINELY disabled people at both airports, 24/7.
    Passengers simply need to REQUEST assistance before hand, and provide evidence of the legitimate disability.
    Westjet also gate check mobility devices (not all airlines will) and Westjet has an outstanding "overnight replacement" policy if a mobility device is damaged.
    In fact this video SHOWS THE TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS that both airports and Westjet supply for genuinely disabled passengers - there's a waiting wheelchair in the gangway, with a Westjet employee to push it, and a waiting golf cart as soon as you enter the building.
    Disabled passengers may get board first to get their equipment stored/set up, but we also get off *LAST*.
    (People who complain we get on first ignore/erase the other end of the trip).
    Getting off last is worst part of the flight. When you leave after everyone else meanders off, you see the filth, damage, and disgusting mess that so many rude, entitled, arrogant, selfish passengers leave behind them, hidden until they slithered their way off the plane.
    And it's always *much* worse in "Economy".

    Last time I flew that route they were still going to Gatwick. I found economy window seats a bit claustrophobic, but aisle seats were ok

    • @oz_medias
      @oz_medias ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They still fly to Gatwick, that's my usual route. You'll notice that, on certain days, cost to fly to Gatwick is at least $2K more than it the next day, those are the days it's $2K less to fly to Heathrow.

      They do BOTH London airports, and the price varies widely.

    Nice video man! Westjet seems like a good airline. That inflight map is exactly the same as on Air Tahiti Nui 😅

      yeah till they cancel your flight, ghost you and steal all your money. Lawsuits are filed! thousands have been victim of this evil! Hope they bankrupt.

      They are a very highly rated, popular, and high quality airline, that started as a grassroots airline because Western Canadians were tired of Air Canada treating passengers - who weren't in "the center of the Universe" (Toronto) - so badly.
      Westjet culture and employee buy in and passenger loyalty is *outstanding* compared to the rest of the non luxury/private air carriers.
      There's a reason WestJet are entrusted with flying most of the Canadian "Make-A-Wish" families to their Wish Trip destinations.
      I don't know ANYONE who has a good or great experience flying in Western and Northern Canada with any other carrier.

      @neondeon475 They do have a lot of flight cancelation problems, but they don't "steal your money." Airlines are legally obligated to provide compensation for a canceled flight, and WestJet is pretty good about compensating people for this. You can get up to 4 times more money than you payed for you ticket when WestJet cancels a flight. If you're not getting compensation for a canceled flight, it's because you're not actually putting an effort into asking airline for compensation, which makes it one hundred percent your fault. Airlines won't compensate you if they don't have to, it saves them money, but they'll be more than willing to if you actually ask for compensation, every single airline behaves this way. Don't go wishing on a company's downfall because you're too lazy to ask for compensation.

    The "breakfast" box said it was a "light meal". I didn't see a meal, light or otherwise. Maybe Westjet catering forgot to pack something?

    • @OnTimeReports
      @OnTimeReports  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, sadly that's all they give for breakfast

      A meal is eating in order to 'satisfy' your appetite. MEAL is not defined as a serving of hot food or stuffing yourself. A light meal is a snack.

      I can't fly 787 any other way. Premium Economy is a HUGE step up from economy but business is the only way to fly on the Dreamliner.

    With two or 300 people on the plane and no kitchen facility on the plane how do you expect them to prepare and serve hot breakfasts six hours or so into a seven hour flight with no kitchen you get your hot meal at the beginning of the flight because they’re loaded in thermal containers hot onto the plane usually so they serve them while they’re still hot. there is extremely limited culinary kitchen space on a plane. also serving small portions at the end of the flight encourages passengers to spend money in the airport and food when they leave

    WestJet is the 2nd biggest airline in Canada, airline partners with Delta. I can't believe this airline is really good

    West Jet and Air Canada should look at airlines like EVA, Korean, or JAL. Their food portions are so much better. I will pack my own meals next month flying to Malaysia 🇲🇾 😅. It is better to be full than a hungry passenger on a long haul flights

      Yes, special meals, including Muslim Meal, is available on long-haul international flights on WestJet. But it needs to be pre-ordered prior to your flight.
