    I used zip ties to hold the gears tight. Lined them up and inserted the gears. Once started in the bearing holes, I cut the zip ties and pulled them out. Worked perfect.

      @MichaelSabo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      DBC is usually pretty responsive; you can try sending them a direct message on their instagram @dbc_racing or email them. Parts can be really hard to find for these older quads unfortunately. Always keep an eye out on 250r forums and ebay.

    Happy to see the poly skid plate. They slide across stuff so much easier so they dont have to be as tough as the metal or aluminum and are better for the vibration of the bike and also for putting back on after taking some hits they line back up and are not as warped, if so lay in the sun or put some heat to it

    The moly grease is not for sticking the washers of the gears, it is when you crank the engine for the first time, this places can be damaged because of low lubrication. It will also prevent heat buildup in this rubbing parts. This is what I know.

    Crank seals are notorious for blowing out over time and/or leaking. Tule of thumb: always focus on the area most prone to flood leaks first when torquing. Stay torquing the bolts around the crank first, then work your way outwards to the others 👍

    I always find it easiest to stand the case up when putting in the trans. Gravity doesn’t pull the washers off. And usually you can mesh both shafts and support from the bottom with both hands. Slide it right in place then put the case back down for the shift drum and forks.

    When you are installing the crank by freezing it you can heat the inner race on the crank bearing. Just take a socket that fits inside of it and heat the socket with a torch. Not in the bearing obviously. If you heat the socket and put it in the bearing a few times you can transfer heat to the inner race without melting and seals like would happen using a torch on the bearing. Doesn't take much to get it to expand just enough for the frozen crank to drop right in. I've built a lot of engine's both 2stroke and 4stroke and it works flawlessly most of the time. 1 or 2 out of the last 10 engine's I've done only needed to be pulled the last 1/8 inch probably due to me just not being quick enough heating then dropping it in immediately.

    • @MichaelSabo
      @MichaelSabo  4 ปีที่แล้ว
