Thanks for the new adventure! Always an ice cream shop at the end of the journeys! 🍦🍦
What a fun video with so many cool activities. I too wrote down each one to add to my bucket list. Thanks for taking us along on your travels.
Thank you so much for sharing all these lovely spots! Every episode I add to our Google Maps for adventures in our Pleasure Way and on our ebikes :-) Safe travels as you cross N.A. to pick up your new van.
Really enjoyed the rail trail cart ride.
It was so fun watching this! You did get videoing too. Joy in your travels! Jennifer & John
You guys need to do the Mickelson trail!
Glad to see you made it to the Biz Johnson Trail. You are correct that transportation to the top of the 25-mile trail would allow you to use the gentle, downhill grade of the former rail line (3%) to your advantage, resulting in an easy ride. In addition to the fun bridges to cross, there are two cool railroad tunnels you will have to peddle through. We did this trip about 5 years ago on recumbent-trikes with attached dog trailer and thoroughly enjoyed it. We found the area beautiful and the town of Susanville was historic and interesting, although a bit sketchy. The town seemed to be on hard times and major employers were the prison and Indian Casino. We had no problems and spent a night at the delightful Victorian Roseberry House B&B.
Hiawatha trail is awesome!!! 15 miles downhill. Several tunnels, one almost 2 miles long and several sky high trusses. A must do!
Maybe next year.
Welcome to our Homecountry. I worked at Lassen Volcanic National Park the summer of 1980 when Mt St Helens erupted and many people were taking the Volcanic Legacy Highway. We decided to head for the Coast and chilling in Ft. Bragg when the Hi is around 60 snd the lows 48. Feels wonderful
I have some ash that my brother sent me from the volcano. Need to go back for a closer look.
During those days everybody traveled around with a coffee can of ash in their trunks. I had several visitors give me a sample. Still haven’t been to Mt. St. Helens proper. Have you?
@@kxrv6629 No. But maybe next year.
Cool stuff for sure !
Nice video. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Brought back lots of good memories-I grew up in Parkdale on my family’s orchard in the shadow of Mt. Hood. A minor note, the names for Mt Adams and Mt. Hood are flipped. Mt. Hood has the pointed peak. Thanks for the great videos!
Thank you. I figured I would get at least one wrong.
I just wanted to let you and John know just how much I enjoy your videos! Thanks so much.
Thank you! 😊
O'man what an awesome video! Loved how you rolled with the flow ~~~~ always finding hidden treasures. I also loved the night time lapse, pretty cool!✨ Wishing John a Happy Father's Day🎉 I'm sure you guys are probably having the most delicious ice cream to celebrate 🥳 Safe travels, Yvonne 🥰
We did! Huckleberry Heaven!
@@FromShetoMe Sounds wonderful! 🥰
Awesome video. Enjoyed your bike rides and rail experience. I’m glad you did the lava cave so I could see it. ❤
Wow...great video. Thank you.
What an awesome trip!/side trips! The McCloud Falls were absolutely gorgeous! I would love to do the rail bikes! That looked so fun. Y'all have gotten so professional with your videos/editing...you just do such a fantastic job with each one. So much love to you both as you head across toward the East! Stay safe! Jane in SC ❤🙏
Thanks Jane.
Ran the Bizz Johnson Trail Marathon there a number of years ago. What a beautiful area.
Do they run up or down or something in between.
@@FromShetoMe it was point-to-point. They drove us west and we ran back to Susanville.
@@jimreikowsky1180That makes sense or they would be picking up stragglers for quite awhile.
Next time you are in this area you should stop at Smith Rock State Park. It is beautiful.
My husband used to work as a financial consultant to the power plant in the area….he would fly into Reno and drive over to Susanville…went there multiple times on business.
You always seem to find the prettiest parts of California. Not many rv channels explore California.
Wow! I’m adding this whole thread on my list for next summer! Spectacular- thanks for sharing!!😊
I'll ride those train go carts when they are e-go carts!😊
That’s what they are! No excuses now.
@FromShetoMe Oh, I didn't realize that! I'm in!
The waterfall hike looked gorgeous! And that bakery....oh, my. Loved the rail ride footage too. Kudos for your creative filming.
Wow! California is beautiful. Fantastic video, the photography, music and stars swirling around were wonderful.
Thanks for another great video! We were glad to see you found ice cream! Also my biggest weekness. If you find yourselves near Tioga County PA go to the Pine Creek Rail Trail for an awesome bike ride to the Pa Grand Canyon. There is a great Campground along the trail called Pettecote Junction Campground. We highly recommend!
Thanks. Will put in my tip folder.
There is a campground and small lake (trillium) near mt hood. That has a view that is probably one of the best i have ever seen on our travels. Just gorgeous
That bakery is great, just ate a sticky bun from there for breakfast today. My sister drove the 1/2 hour just to go to the bakery. Worth it
That’s too funny. Such an out of the way place and one of my viewers was near by. Love it!
I always love you cycling videos! I’ll also be doing the rail ride in the Catskills in NY amend of June. Your video just made me more excited! I also wanted to recommend kool tie to you. I cycle a lot and I am prone to migraines on very hot days. I use this to keep me cool. It’s like a bandana but it contains gel beads. You soak the kool tie in water and the gel beads absorb it and place it around your neck to cool you. It will keep you cool for hours in very hot days. REI has them or you can order from their website.
Wow, you found all the fun on that leg of your trip! Fantastic work on this video!👍👍 I think I need a Bakeries category on my google maps😁
Me too!
Thanks for the video. Love the McCloud falls. If you like rail trails look up the one in Willits, Ca.
Have heard about it. Will look into it. Thanks.
The McCloud Falls are awesome.
REI have those sleeves. Love mine. Enjoyed your adventure and will add the Mt Hood rail ride to my list. Thanks and travel safe
I’ve not seen the shrug at REI. Will have to look again.
Thanks for your awesome video! Rail rides can be wonderful indeed.
loved the rail ride!
Open road Destination just did same trail, from there campsite to Susanville.
Awesome video, love it out there.
Okay, more places to add to my list. I'll have to hit some of this on my way back down from Oregon. I like the shrug and I've been looking for something like that and I like your's. We hit 93 here yesterday but a little cooler today, I bet you're getting into more heat as you go. Nice bakery, I looked it up to see if they had any gluten free items but didn't find any, but they now serve clam chowder on Fridays. You two are just having way too much fun, keep enjoying the ride. Safe Travels!
It snowed at Hood River a week after we were there. In Missoula now and it’s raining and in 40’s but looks like it will be heating up as we head east.
@@FromShetoMe I lived for 10 years south of Missoula in Stevensville.
@@always.wondering.wandering Interesting. I just saw it on the map. Very cold today.
What a great video! I have been through Hood River many times now I have a reason to stop and ride the rails. I can’t believe I did not know about this great train peddle ride! How many recent is this video? I am wondering were you there last week or how many weeks since you recorded this. I love John’s shirt he was wearing on the bike ride! I sure love seeing your videos each week! Thanks for taking me along on the adventure!!
We were there June 7. It snowed there 2 days ago.
Watching right now. Thank you for another great video. Always learn something from you two. It's hot here in Texas and I'm wondering how cool was it in that lava tube?!
Year round it is 46 degrees. What a great air conditioner.
I am so enjoying this week’s video again! I am looking forward to getting up to that area! Thx
Hi Debbie and John, I recently discovered your channel and enjoy your videos. I appreciate the fun facts and the history that you give as part of your narration. And you do a great job with the content production which is something I would like to learn to do as well. Are you self taught? Any recommendations for a novice?
I am self taught with the help of lots of TH-cam channels. Happy to offer advice. Energymaven@gmail.com
Try Suzanne Somers gut renew shake mix. Plant based protein with lots of great ingredients. We love the chocolate it has no sugar just manuka honey. We make it with almond milk a banana and 2 Tablespoons of peanut butter and a few ice cubes. It’s like a chocolate shake. Look it up and see the ingredients! Incredible! The original flavor which is berry isn’t as good in my opinion. They put stevia in the original but not in the chocolate one. We have one every day.
Thanks for the tip! Hard to find good tasting protein powder.
Great video! What camera did you use in the lava tubes?
iPhone 13 Pro
Another great video. Did you guys ever try the Hiawatha trail? It seems like you did.
No. We did the Coeur d’Alene trail. We’ll do the Hiawatha one of these days.
Hi - just wondering if you liked the Carote pots?
They are working out great and I comment about them in next video. Half the time I don’t even use the handle. Being able to move the handle to get the right angle for flipping eggs is also helpful.
@@FromShetoMe thanks- I’ll give them a try
Good morning - can you share the name of your magnetic awning? I saw it a while ago on a video but can no longer find it. Thanks so much :). Blessings
It’s called a Moonshade and the company is called Moonfab. They use a suction cup now but offer the magnets as an accessory.
