The airline has quite recently got a new owner, the big Indian conglomerate the Tata Group and major changes are underway for the airline. How far have they come and has Air India already become better?
Today we also visit the Eventyr Lounge in the non Schengen area of CPH

This month I'm going from Delhi to Copenhagen by air india.. excited
How was your experience? Did they upgrade the airplane?
Thanks for sharing the video. I flew on Air India recently and agree fully with you. The hardware definitely needs replacement. I suppose they are working on it and hopefully things should get better soon. Regarding filming out of the 787 window, I suppose it is something with the design of the window itself? I had similar issues filming out of a Qatar Airways 787 window. They seem somewhat scratchy and opaque, compared to windows of other aircraft types. Hope you had a good time in Australia and a nice flight back.
Very nice and fair video on Air India. I experienced similar low standards on Air India before. Nevertheless I am optimistic that Air India will be a better quality airline for all travellers.

Did they allow you go over 2kg extra? How heavy was your checked bag. I am sure there were lots of bags at the baggage claim from this flight since it was a 777
What time was the flight and What time did you land
Travelled Twice in the last month on this route , the service levels of Air India were definitely better than Emirates and couple of other airlines that flyout from the same airport. What I cant get my head around is issues such as screen not working , broken armrests and worn outseats I am sure are known to them and there isnt a big push to get these issues sorted asap. I understand the new management is looking into this but till that time would you let your brand take a beating ? Certain issues are absolutely easily addressable and it needs to be fixed. I am not 100% certain whether they are looking into these at all.
It will take a while for TATA to get this airline together again. Honestly, apart from the cabin, seats etc. The staff either need to be re-trained or let go as well.
Air India is changing its aircrafts as soon as they receive it, They are also subleasing from Delta to change equipment. SFO to Mumbai and SFO to Delhi got new aircrafts in last 2 -4 months
What is seat number? Pls
Very nice
*lol* That Air India flight made me think of the movie Final Destination ! *lol*
Sorry to see so many issues with your seat! Sadly, Air India has been a much neglected step child for many years. But I feel we are all rooting for it to succeed under Tata. Hope your stopover in Delhi and the onward journey were good.
Thank you for flying Air India and my apology for the bad condition of the aircraft. Hope things will be better in 2025 after the wide body fleet is refurbished.
Air India has to go long way to bring to the international status. It is sad to travel on Air India for the present
Wati for some time new plan are coming very soon of air indie after that air indie be one airline in the world ❤❤
I've yet to see a review of Air India where the cabin wasn't absolutely filthy!
Hopefully it will soon be improved! With more than 400 aircraft in order and with 400 million dollars to refurbish interiors of 40 wide-body aircrafts it must bet better. The question is how long time it will take. The presented schedule looks a little bit tight.
There are plenty of such reviews in the past 6-8 months. You just have to remove your racism tinted glasses!!!!!
@@mansees So, you can't criticize the airline because it has the word, "India" in it? Got it. If that's all you've got is to accuse someone of racism instead of coming up with a legitimate defense you really don't have much of an argument.
@@bradleynoneofyourbizz5341 See you deflected from the core of your original comment. There are a few trip reports that show AI flights with great experiences. But your biases caught upto you.
@@bradleynoneofyourbizz5341 agree with you nothing racism here ,I recently flew on air India on business class from Chicago to Delhi the crew is much better but the aircrafts need a lot of work.
sorry for the inconvenience during your journey, the big changes will come into effects after 2025 in air india.
Air India hard product in the widebody fleet is quite bad. Only hope is the new aircrafts which will arrive from next year onwards. Although I have always liked the food and the service.
air india is completely changing everything now to be one of the best airline since now we are getting airbus just have to wait another 2 years
Just wait a few months and AI will have brill fleet
That’s shameful for an airline to have such a raggedy aircraft. Being an international carrier, they need to display more pride and have the proper personnel take care of the equipment.
New aircrafts have been ordered and every aircraft will be replaced with the new ones.
Don't underestimate air india flights if u don't know about air india don't say anything. Now replace new aircraft from old flights
@@warisriyas The video clearly showed a filthy airplane with poor maintenance practices. Even if they are replaced with new equipment, if they’re not kept clean and proper repairs made what’s it matter?
@@kittjohns3382 now tata take back again so need to wait 2 or 3 they will change everything and ordered many aircraft.
These are old legacy aircraft inherited from Govt. Hundreds of new aircraft have been ordered by Air India. First one has already arrived in India last week. All these old aircraft will be replaced with brand new ones. Tata already runs Vistara airline in INdia, which is the country's best. They also run Taj hotels, which is iconic luxury hotel chain. They will totally transform Air India in another one year
Nonsense you are writing Boeing 787 is not old legacy aircraft, if a few years old 787 has worn out than there is no hope for the new aircrafts
Old legacy aircraft in the sense that they are left-overs from the Govt. which ill-maintained them when it was running Air India and whose interiors are in shabby condition. Tata doesn't want to spend money on them as they are buying brand new aircraft. The first of them arrived last month@@ahmadkidwai3141
Sad to see the condition of the aircraft 😢
This air india b787's to be Refurbished in mid 2024. Slowly the airline will transform into worldclass. 😊
Air India is seeing huge changes and improvements. Earlier widespread nepotism and corruption resulted in Air India generating almost no revenue from business class and 1st class. Most of the passengers in these cabins were politically connected, senior government officials or people with connections who booked economy class and travelled in business or first class.
After the privatization these cabins are 90% occupied by paying customers. However my sources and data analysis indicate that Air India is loosing about 10% to legacy nepotism and corruption by legacy staff. I expect this to come down significantly as the Air India is focusing on these losses.
wrong time to fly air india.
Maybe H2 2024 is the right time to travel in an AI cabin.
Sorry i work in travelling agency and my clients had worst expérience
They will not repair as they will replace entire planes. It’s 3 more years before I would travel, or make sure you have a newer plane. It’s probably impossible to repair all these planes as replacements will arrive earlier.
You guys just display the lack of your understanding of what it takes to redo the interiors. That too in an era where there are supply chain issues. Tata's took over this airline during the pandemic. Even some of the most established carriers like Lufthansa have postponed their cabin refurbishing plans because of supply chain issues. The Tata's have committed 400 mill to the effort.
This seat is less than 10 years old, this is obviously an indicator of lack of cleaning and maintenance, as most airlines seats last 10-15 years, and never reach a state like this. Not related to supply chain issues.
@@lachlanp4198you seems to be an aviation expert, don't you?
@@lachlanp4198 Do i have to point the obvious to you or can you figure it out on your own ? Read my comment again.
Cleaning the cabin of filth and totally refurbishing it are not at all the same thing.
There's a big difference between refurbishing and maintaining an aircraft. No matter how old an aircraft is, if it's not taken care of by the passengers as well as the maintenance staff it'll show it's age sooner. There are plenty of airlines with much older planes and still look brand new to this day. There's a reason why most airlines don't send good planes on Indian routes because they know people will damage it.
I am pretty sure even after Tata refurbishes all the aircraft after few years they'll all have the same fate. Indians need to learn it's not their property and need to learn to take good care of it when flying as well as maintenance staff to properly do their job.
Kudos to you for having a positive attitude. But still a depressing review. Chalk it up to adventure and sail on.
I Fly international once every 3 months from the U.S.A. I have never seen any filthy cabin like that...I will be flying to Mumbai in March BUT NOT ON AIR INDIA.
Good choice. Don't fly AI for another couple of years.
Still lots to be done
Tkts r too expensive for the service
I had an Air India flight yesterday. One got cancelled and the other one had no functional entertainment. The food made me sick and im indian lol
After one year will see the results,
problem is not the airline they will fix it give it some time ,but I bet you give it five years they will be back to square one its not the airline but people flying in them they need to improve.
It's a bit risky to fly AIR INDIA :D :D
Terrible lack of supply chain issues by the content maker that the airlines across the world are facing...TATAs are trying their best and the airline will take atleast take two more years to change I predict..
Air India has significantly improved. Indian government basically sold a piece of junk and Tata group is doing a wonderful job fixing the airline. The widespread corruption and arrogance of the staff has more or less disappeared.
A recent incident about water leaking from the intentional loose water bottles kept by a group of passengers who were black mailing the airline to upgrade them on next international leg. Unfortunately they were caught by a video taken by another passenger.
You will see these types of events to bring the airline down by vested people who have lost the privileges they had enjoyed when the airline was run by the corrupt civil aviation ministry.
cheap airline but worth what you paid for. If you want quality service than travel with qatar/Emirates airlines.. definitely shold pay higher ticket price
ur entertainment, charging ports and seat recline didnt work and the window view wasnt the best either ... i hope they give u compensation
Thankyou for… - Air India is without doubt, I will never ever fly with… trip from New Delhi to Cph was more than a disgrace
Their food on Delhi - Bangkok flight was pathetic as i just travelled to Bangkok. And they only offered snacks instead of Meals. They should now pull up their socks and atleast give proper meals as other AIRLINES does...If they don't then i think they will be never successful...
Disgusting plane. If they treat the inside like that, what does that say about the maintenance of the planes mechanics.
Seems like a flying death trap to me.
Air India will always be the same no change worst service entertainment landing ..they are not service minded airline
What a filthy plane
Air India is minting money right now as one of the few airlines that can fly over Russia - that will change soon. As for the mediocrity inside the aircraft, well nothing has changed since the Tata group took over.
one of the worst airlines to travel
Awfully dilapidated air craft
looks filthy
Maha raja service
Lousy airlines
Hard pass for me…
looks like this is done to defame brand air India, dont do it next time! try fly other airlines around the world and get back on same flight after a year or so..do post before you board the aeroplane, and say not worth watching !
I have no intention to defame Air India. Instead, I have very big hope for the Airlines with the new owner the Tata group and I think I mentioned that several times in the video. The food was good and the crew was supernice and motivated and they did a very nice job.
The thing that got me disappointed was the state of the cabin. The new owner has announced an ambitious program to refurbish the cabins but I now understand that things like this takes some time to implement. This together with delivery of new aircrafts makes me having big hopes for Air India and as I said before, I have no interest to slander the airline
How is it defaming AI? He has very impartially shown viewers that the plane was a heap of old junk
We all know that Incredible India used to have more gold and diamonds than what Fort Knox keeps in USA. Do you understand high class Krsinivasan?
