@@GarretGravink Very well could be. However, we have to ask what would be better for US to have him review. When you look at it through that lens, giving him a good alcohol isn't the metric. In fact, the scale is flipped: the worse it is, the more we get to point and laugh.

If you want good-ish tequila on the cheap go with any Blanco or Platinum/silver tequila, by law they’re supposed to be additive free, then it’s all up to the distillation process that determines the taste

Fun fact: a lot of cheap tequilas are actually liqueurs with tequila added. And the gold is often just caramel color as opposed to a joven or reposado which is actually aged.

For Halloween, I want to see PV3 and Spittoon dress as one another.
In terms of Mexican alcohol that tastes like literal rubbing alcohol, try the bottles of stuff labeled “Alcohol de caña potable”
Made from sugar cane, but it tastes nothing like rum. It just tastes like rubbing alcohol. And while it is 50% alcohol, it is also about $17 for a liter of the stuff.
Better to just get Taaka.

@20yrs ago when I'd mention to people the possibility that the alcohol may be stripping fine chemical layers from the plastic bottle's inside they'd look at me like... well like I'd been drinking too much BPA/BPH-laced tequila... and smoking crack...

....yeah, speaking as someone who as observed people drinking tequila - that is NOT the color of a high quality tequila. I mean, that's not even the color of a high-quality Listerine.
Another way to make sure your cheap tequila is quality or not check that it has “100% Blue Agave” on the label, not “made with agave” or anything, but “100% Blue Agave” or “made with 100% Blue Agave” in english

Plastic bottles… when PV3 was talking about being safe if you trip and fall with it in your hand, all I could think of was the time Jimmy Fallon (and I may be telling this story wrong) got drunk and fell with a bottle of Jaeger and amputated the tip of one of his fingers.
