It's comes down to team chemistry and trust. Poole didn't play into the system this year. He was already mentally traded.

My question is how do we know it was the punch? I have a feeling that the bigger issue was the number of guards on the roster and him being the 4th option. He probably felt he deserved a bigger role

How can team chemistry be a point when everyone is saying its because of one guy? Are Steph, Klay, and Draymond ( or anyone saying it's all pooles fault ) that soft because they didn't win because of one guy who isn't the best or even the glue guy on the team?

    • @KxngKUDA
      @KxngKUDA ปีที่แล้ว +5

@@manuelanthony2205hat value is determined by the contract offered by the team. When Poole was hungry for his money, he played within the system with no issues. And because he bought in, they won and he produced well. He was signed as the herald for their future considering the aging core. Once he got that contract, it also came with the responsibility of contribution to the team. He settled once he got his money, started making boneheaded plays out of his own ego, and ultimately shook the chemistry on the court up. Which led to the explosion off the court that never recovered. It's all relative

  • @DreamKingXOXO

The reason why his stats went up is because Andrew Wiggins was out! He actually stepped up! When he started to struggle, the team didn’t support him (like when the punch happened) and they tried to play DiVencenzo and Wiggins came back and that messed his rhythm up in the playoffs! The punch definitely messed the trust up, Dray even said it, he couldn’t lead how he wanted too because the trust was broken! His stats went up because he’s that talented of a player! The punch affected the team cohesion!

Bro wiggins doesn’t even shoot that much and a blind person could see Poole was a liability all playoffs on defense that’s the reason gp2/moody/donte got more minutes… Like Gilbert said curry went down and he put up those numbers with draymond there so I don’t see how he drops to 10 ppg in playoffs it would be different if he had a bad year all around

They played Divenchenzo because Poole wouldn’t listen. Kerr has been telling Poole for years to stop making the ball stick. Poole doesn’t know how to run the offense and he doesn’t play the .5 basketball Kerr wants. He comes into the game and stops the flow of the offense by over dribbling. Puts his head down and sprints into a crowd of defenders and they know he’s just going to spin. It was messing with others game. Especially Kuminga. He’d run out the clock and toss him with ball with like 5 seconds left. When he wasn’t listening, he was destroying any momentum they had in the game - second unit was disjointed on offense and defense and needed a point guard. Kerr had no choice but the use Divenchenzo and Lamb to get everyone organized and create for others, get the ball moving again. He didn’t just take Poole’s minutes away. He let him play the 2.
Poole didn’t play well and his ego didn’t allow him to listen to the coach. That started from 2021-2022 season. Not just last year with the Draymond punch.

Klay took his minutes and Poole started in less games. There’s a steep decline of JPs production when he’s not on the court with Draymond (and other starters) - they get him cleaner looks. When JP was coming off the bench and was the primary offensive initiator, his weaknesses shown and he never developed a rhythm in the set offense, which explains why his stats were up but his synergy looked awful. Fights happen, but I guarantee GSW sticking with Klay as the second offensive weapon was the biggest issue with JPs ability to mesh within the system.

Damn Brandon Jennings said real shit when he answered Gilbert to how he affected it, his mental got fucked but he was needed, the team was in his hands, and they lost because of this., the aurora

I believe there was tension on both parties that both are accountable for. Yes, Draymond is objectively the vet, and he is supposed to carry himself in a better manner. He's now a part of two different situations that led to divisiveness. However, and this is where I advocate for Dray while holding Poole accountable, he is human, and a grown ass man. Objectively, so is Poole. I can see Poole's tendencies to step out of line for his own personal benefit instead of staying within the system. And from the video it definitely seemed like Poole was taking slick shit to Draymond; likely getting a big head since signing his contract and getting a ring. I think between this flare up, and Poole sticking to his reckless decision making that ultimately dampered his production and value, this break up was inevitable.

Does Draymond have Gil in his back pocket or something because GOTDAMN! NOT ONCE did either side bring the horrendous road record by a DEFENDING WORLD CHAMPION. Teams bond on the road and that bond/cohesion was destroyed before the season even started because of the punch

I'm with GIL about playing on the wizards with no star. They definitely tripping. Look at Kyle Kuz first year there

Gil wrong on this. Can’t look at the stats, his stats looked good in regular season cause like they said 26 PPG with no Steph, Klay wouldn’t play back to back games, and don’t forget Wiggins missed like the last 30 games of the season until playoffs. Wiggins and Klay are higher scoring options than Poole and playoffs no one is missing games. With everyone playing Pooles minutes were cut back and due to his poor play when he was on the court caused him to lose more minutes. He made stupid decisions on offense and did not shoot well at all and he was irrelevant on defense. Steph gave that speech before the got on the bus for game 7 vs Sacramento and it was directed at Poole and Kuminga about worrying about playing time instead of worrying about winning for the team. There’s a video too before the game Draymond goes to slap pooles hand and he has his head down and just ignores Draymond and Steph immediately goes over and says something to Poole most likely calling him out for not being a team player. You could see his body language during the playoffs and at any point of adversity they faced in the playoffs he was checked out wasn’t bought into the team and just cared about himself playing. Draymond may not even come back to GS this year and they traded Poole before knowing that, should tell you all you need to know about his attitude towards winning and doing best for the team

No lie Gil is right but to act like that punch didn’t effect the team is crazy.

I like how Gil said they figured Poole out then contradicted it by saying his stats and NOBODY on the panel caught that 😂😂😂 that’s good arguing when you know you wrong

Gil like what did it affect???
Chemistry lol that’s what it affected. What made GS so good is they had the players and the chemistry. This season there wasn’t any chemistry, there were just a bunch of talented players running around trying to act like nothing ever happened

No matter what happens to Poole after this he looks bad if he goes up “He was scared of Draymond” if he plays worse “he was never that good anyways he always was a gunner”
