I'd been wearing these Nunos for about three weeks before I realized what was so strange about them: they hadn't creased. All of the other zillion-dollar white sneakers I own had significantly creased along the vamp by now, but not the Nuno. That's because the leather is much thicker and the shoes are much newer when you get them - I talk all about it in the video. Hope you like it!

Interesting, they remind me a lot of Beckett Simonons, with the addition of a cork insole. Major props for not putting out the review until they've been worn in! It's always frustrating when the only reviews are for brand new shoes, since most shoes will look entirely different after a couple hours of wear

Recently stumbled upon a company called Aquila and found that they make a boot called the Jesse Military Boot which is very similar to a lot of the heritage boots covered on this channel. They're sort of like a dress shoe but made into a boot, with pig skin lining etc... Would be really interesting to see someone take a look at it!

I love white minimal sneakers but I’m also loving brown minimal sneakers as of late. The only white sneakers I own are Beckett Simonons Reid sneaker and for 110, I couldn’t be happier. I was eyeing some Oliver Cabell brown sneakers though but now I may have to check these out.

How is it holding up?
I'm an 11D on brannock and I got these in size 12. They fit well, and they are more comfortable than other minimal sneakers because of the the thick box calf, cork filler and steel shank. Always look for construction and materials rather than brand names.

The Style OG says these are full grain napa leather. Is that accurate? I know on the Idrese website it says napa leather but doesn't seem to state that it's full grain.

I know they've recently changed their leather supplier to a company in Italy because I ordered a pair of Dowler Boots and they let me know that the boots would be made from this new leather from the company in Italy.
I know before they used leather from a supplier in Argentina? I think?
Plus, you can't argue about the price.
Hopefully Rose Anvil gets a pair to see the quality compared to Common Projects and Koio, he literally tears the shoe completely and in detail explains what is wrong

As always, great review. Sort of a SNL cold open, identifying yourself and the channel only as a running afterthought. Anyway, based on your review I placed an order today. The thickness and the cork were the thumbs on the scale. Just a note for potential buyers, I opted not to take the $15 discount coupon. Why? Because if you do, you forfeit the chance to return the sneakers, only exchange them. I wear a size 11 but sizing can obviously greatly vary with manufacturers. You're already subject to a $10 restocking fee anyway according to the fine print. I normally loathe returning anything both for the inconvenience to me and the drag it places on the seller who's trying to make a go of it which I respect. I trust this price is a good value anyway and to be fair, others, like the Koio Capri doesn't pay shipping for returns or exchanges, is slightly more expensive and has thinner leather. I chatted on Idrese's website and someone there assured me to buy my normal size 11, so hopefully no drama. Just wanted to warn other viewers, if you take the discount you might paint yourself into a corner to save just 6%. I didn't want to potentially go through a 3 or 4 month sizing experiment only to be stuck with a weird fit. You buy sneakers for their ultimate comfort and fit and these aren't cheap. So maybe full price is the best choice for everyone.

We are only a year and a half old and when we started this company, till now, we want to offer you the highest quality footwear at the lowest price possible. We run a very lean business compared to big brands and so every bit we save we pass it onto the customer. Due to this, we have incredibly slim margins from the onset. The only reason we offer discounts on already heavily discounted pairs is because we are trying to grow our family by getting more people in the door, but in reality this cuts deeper into our small margins so we only offer exchanges, not returns when using a discount code. But if you exchange a product we waive the $10 restocking fee (new box, new dustbags)!

I have a custom pair in burgundy box calf and I think it's cool that it looks like dress shoe leather. Moreso than the white ones in the video.

I bought these shoes because of this video and basically everything that Nick goes over in this review is 100% true. I'm extremely happy with them. A little while ago I bought a pair of Koios and I've been kind of sad about how much they've creased and how they're really not super comfortable to walk in. The Nuno's beat my Koio's in every category.
I've had them for a month and they do slightly crease...but it's barely noticeable. The leather seems to be slightly thicker and maybe better quality. It seems like my Nunos are holding their shape way better than my Koios. I do have shoe trees for both pairs but my Nunos look much fresher.
They're also much more comfortable to walk in. It actually feels like I have support wearing Nunos and I'm sure they'll probably get even more comfortable as I continue to break them in. I usually wear a size 9.5 and size 9 fit fine for me for the Nunos. My toes do hit the edge of the shoe as well... I'm hoping that as I wear them more that will change.
One slight downside is that I tried buying a pair of shoe trees through Idrese and they wouldn't honor my purchase. Apparently the shoe trees are custom made for each shoe... So they won't send you shoe trees after your shoes are delivered to you. You have to buy everything all at once. Also, it's a little weird that my shoe box doesn't say Idrese on it like in the video. That wasn't a big deal at all to me though. I'm fine with the minimalist look of the box.
So, thank you Nick for doing a video on these shoes. They're pretty awesome and I'm glad I subscribed.
That is the oposite that is said in the video. Why did you bought a smaller size?
@@asiergarcia1213 I sized down because I knew the shoes would expand the more I wear them. The same thing happened with my Koios. It all depends on the size of your foot too. If you have really wide feet and wear a 9.5 then you should size up. My feet are a standard width, so I sized down and it worked out great.

@@asiergarcia1213 No, I didn't use their foot length chart before I bought my shoes. I just used it now though and it seems pretty accurate. I guess I was just extremely lucky that everything worked out so well.

Hah!!! I've always complained that the luxury sneakers from Europe are too low profile for my taste so it's actually a plus for me. But I'm in between sizes so in your experience should I go up or down a size (US sz.7.5).
Definitely up to an 8! Pros/cons are always tricky because one man's con is another man's pro a lot of the time haha. Glad you like 'em.

Yep! Most of them are in storage. But I haven't been since pre quarantine and now there's a tower of 20 shoeboxes next to my bed that looms over me as i sleep. Probably not healthy...

Regarding the sneakers, I see you’ve bought sizes 11 and size 10. My guess is that you’re a 10.5. Did your black Nuno (11) fit better than the white Nuno (10)?
We’ve gotten mixed reviews about whether to size up or to size down, but it seems that the consensus is to size up, would you agree?
We put on the site that you should size down due to the fact that European feet tend to be narrower than our western counterpart. But most of our orders come from the US so we are looking to reconsider the sneaker sizing info provided to match with the western feet (size up, if in between half sizes).

@@Stridewise I have not tried these, but I own CPs and they have been great and only young people care about creases, people over 40 don't mind that a shoe shows wear.
Locutus D'Borg Not that at all. Go check out Rose Anvil’s dissection of the Common Projects Achilles Low. Basically Common Projects is nice but the premium price point is mostly all hype at this point. With companies like Koio, Idrese, New Republic and Artisan Lab. You can have a white minimalist sneaker with similar shape, similar quality leather, at a lower price point. At this point, whoever says otherwise really just likes CP for the brand and maybe the EXACT silhouette. Which is alright. I’m still a fan of CP Achilles but they really aren’t worth it if you have alternatives $200+ less that are possibly better.
The creases add character, the more you wear them the better they look.
