As a formerly fervent shiny hunter. The amount of hoops you have to jump through to get some of the mythicals as shiny are unrealistic for an adult or anyone with an active life to bother with. I'm a big fan of PKSM for filling gaps in my dex. Before anyone has spasm at the fact someone uses CFW the way I see it Nintendo and Pokemon are really anti consumer so there isn't any point in playing by their rules.
8:37 If it helps, Victini is #494, so of they release paid research for Shiny Victini during Pokemon GO’s Unova Tour, it won’t be too big of a leap from Shaymin to Victini
@@CoreyProulx They’re running out of Unova mythicals they could use the ticket for (Meloetta from HOME and Genesect is in Raids), so Victini and Keldeo are their only options if they want to fully entice people to buy the ticket Plus, they’ve released shinies that were previously impossible to get with your OT before (Zacian, Zamazenta, Galarian Birds, etc), and having a shiny with your OT is quite important to some people
@@Turtle-Soup Given that Meloetta appears in Scarlet/Violet and the Shiny was released by completing those Pokédexes in HOME, the fact Keldeo appears in Sword/Shield gives the Shiny a chance of being the gift for completing the Galar-related Pokedexes in HOME

Both shiny legendary and mythical Pokemon have become loot boxes in Pokemon. The reason why all of them are shiny locked in gen 9 is so players have to pay to hunt them in raids in Pokemon Go. In fact, it is currently the only way to get Zacian, Zamazenta, Genesect, Melton, Melmetal, and the Galar birds with your trainer ID.
I have the special research for the shiny Jirachi on Pokemon go. I’m still stuck in the first page of the shiny shaymin research, however already having one from bdsp really drops the motivation to run through it. it sucks that they wont just give us what we want. i dont even see how it benefits them keeping shiny mythicals locked for decades outside of pogo microtransactions. i feel like more people would have cared about or even bought the scarlet and violet DLC if meloetta and all the legendays werent locked
I have to say with how easy it is to get shinies: in-game, hacked, or event they do seem a lot less desirable. Also events just being given away via a code does take away a lot of the lure & mystique. Hacked Pokemon being super easy to get hurts the mystique too. The fact that Pokemon now seems to have gotten lazy with where legends can be found is underwhelming like with SW/SH DLC or BDSP Ramnas Park. Yes, having a bunch of legends in one small area is very convenient but it makes them seem a lot less special too as being able to get 10+ legends in one area seems disappointing & lazy. BDSP also just giving people a free Mew and/or Jirachi based on whether the player has a save file on Let's Go and/or SW/SH around the second gym is very weak. When people can get legit legends in a new file without saving within 2-3 hours of normal playthrough it does make legends seem a lot less legendary. While not legit I have like 80 boxes of: legends, mythicals, and/or shinies between 3 games at that point do any of them feel special, no. Yeah, I got a Kyogre what's that now over 20
One dude I traded with in SV was giving my non-hacked shiny legendaries for normal pokemon, not even shinies... because he didn't like those Pokemon or they were just that easy to get. About half were from Pokemon Go.
@@terrafirma5327 if I get a shiny in a trade whether surprise or not I assume it's hacked. I've given: legends, shinies, and/or mythicals for free enough times
Finally! Someone agreed that mythical events are bad and need fixing! But also why does no one talk about the fact you can't NAME them (except in GO). Seriously!
Anyone who can sit through regular Shiny Hunting, or even reset hunting, but not just catching every pokemon in the Dex is INSANE to me. Note that the Shiny Meloette is listed as "Game Pokedex Completion Commemoration No. 1" implying they are ideed planning for more of these. i pray they only do it for future titles tho, i have no desire to revisit LGPE, SwSh, or especially BDSP to complete those dexes.
Pokémon Go hunts are legitimate hunts. The fact that raid passes are available to buy and cost so much is disappointing. But that doesn’t make the hunts in Pokémon Go not count. If someone doesn’t like them or rejects them, that’s fine. But don’t use “no true fan” argument fallacy for those hunts
Great video, loved everything about it. But sometimes when you’re talking there’s some overly long pauses between sentences and it sounds a bit awkward. Not meaning to have just criticism. Hope the best for you ❤
Thanks for the criticism! When I first started editing, I found I put too little time between sentences so I’ve been continually working on making sure there’s more natural length pauses between them, and sometimes it seems I may accidentally leave some for too long And thanks for the kind words!
You're saying you don't like to work for shiny mythicals in Pokémon Go and then go on about really wanting to have to work for something like Meloettas shiny - make up your mind lol For me it was the opposite, I was already level 40 in Go when I got the masterwork research for Mew and have not had a living dex collected in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but I worked for it and got it regardless. The way you're wording all this just comes across as shitting on Pokemon Go which you clearly only play to get shiny mythicals like that, cuz nobody that actually plays the game would complain about the research tasks (besides that dreaded kekleon task ofc)... Also side note, no masterwork research ticket had it's price changed when it rereleased and there has been no second run of the shiny Jirachi as of now I do agree that one should be able to shiny hunt them through other means as well, but it's mythicals, so of course they're not too easily, accessable ya silly goose
My biggest issue with this is that they purposefully limit the distribution of these Pokemon by making you unable to trade Mythical Pokemon in Pokemon HOME... I've been unable to get that stupid Magearna, and I can't get the Shiny Meloetta either simply because I have no way to obtain the Mythical Pokemon (which are _required_ for some reason). I miss the days when hackers could send you random mythicals in the wonder trade. I don't give a crap if they're "illegal," at least they actually let you register the dumb things in your Pokedex.
Shiny Meloetta doesn't require any Mythicals to get. Except for Legends: Arceus, HOME excludes Mythicals from its game Pokédexes, and they've always been optional in the actual games unless they're encountered during the story (Walking Wake and Iron Leaves are also optional for the S/V Blueberry Pokédex and excluded from HOME's version of it). You're right about Original Color Magearna. They should not have made Mythicals required for it.
@@MelancholyJoker19 No other Pokédex completion reward requires Mythical Pokémon. The theming you gave (which I'm not sure if I trust) is not good enough reason to sacrifice that game design, especially since it doesn't directly imply it had to be everything, Poké Balls just represent the concept of catching in general.
@@TheRedSmarty Sigh... Okay, I see the problem then... You see, I assumed when they said you needed to complete the Pokedex for that game, it meant getting all the Paldea Pokemon in the Pokedex. I completely forgot that the whole game dex thing existed. It still feels really gimmicky though... Despite filling out the entire regular Pokedex already (excluding mythicals) it still says I'm missing a ton of Pokemon. I literally transferred a ton of Pokemon from Sword and Shield in order to fill the dex, but the Sword and Shield dex is almost completely empty still. I get the feeling it didn't keep track of this stuff before the update they added it.

I'm really hoping they keep on with pokedex challenges for shiny mythicals. If casual players are more turned off from doing it...good. It's a shiny mythical, it should take some effort to get.
Keldeo should have had the lock removed in SwSh ugh
As a formerly fervent shiny hunter. The amount of hoops you have to jump through to get some of the mythicals as shiny are unrealistic for an adult or anyone with an active life to bother with. I'm a big fan of PKSM for filling gaps in my dex. Before anyone has spasm at the fact someone uses CFW the way I see it Nintendo and Pokemon are really anti consumer so there isn't any point in playing by their rules.
Currently trying to complete the dex for the Meloeeta. I finally have a goal to actually do it :)

If it helps, Victini is #494, so of they release paid research for Shiny Victini during Pokemon GO’s Unova Tour, it won’t be too big of a leap from Shaymin to Victini
they'll never release a shiny lock in go before mainline. there would be riots.
@@CoreyProulx
They’re running out of Unova mythicals they could use the ticket for (Meloetta from HOME and Genesect is in Raids), so Victini and Keldeo are their only options if they want to fully entice people to buy the ticket
Plus, they’ve released shinies that were previously impossible to get with your OT before (Zacian, Zamazenta, Galarian Birds, etc), and having a shiny with your OT is quite important to some people
Well hopefully it’s victini and not like Keldeo who’s 647 lmao
@@Turtle-Soup
Given that Meloetta appears in Scarlet/Violet and the Shiny was released by completing those Pokédexes in HOME, the fact Keldeo appears in Sword/Shield gives the Shiny a chance of being the gift for completing the Galar-related Pokedexes in HOME
Some data miners for Go revealed shiny Victini research recently and it was hinted at with the TCG having the nicknames Black Yin, White Yang, and Heat Wave. Victini has a relationship with Zekrom and Reshiram so it makes sense.
The problem is that I'm addicted to collecting them
Not to mention the shiny locked sword and shield legendaries until they became raidable in Go LOL
they should make shinies available in their own way in each game. im cool wit home dex compleion for main games. raids for GO is fine. hunting in main games would be nice since we buy the game but home works cause its another incentive for them to do it. itll make them money. home isnt something you have to pay for every month in order to store your pokemon but it is expensive when you think about over time.
I got the Shaymjn research the day it came out, I’m above casual level and I’m still not done page 1
I’m still on page one as well for shaymin, just have no motivation to work at it, especially since I was able to hunt one in bdsp
@2:10 i saw another comment saying it was bc of the void glitch they didn’t release arceus, at the time ppl were getting darkrai with the method and were afraid of ppl doing it to get arceus. to get the flute you had to buy a movie ticket and if said person used the glitch the item would be useless and could be a lawsuit.
6:45 I’m go a play who ironically dosnt GO out side 😂😂 I’ve been working on new shiny mew for like 5 or 6 months now maybe even 7 also I missed keldeo and I hate that if u don’t buy it you might never get it or might not get the chance for years
I decided to not buy the Keldeo pass as I assumed the free research wouldn’t be too far behind, and now I’m down to only missing 4 unovan Pokémon. Been slowly grinding larvesta candy, but once I’m done with that I’m stuck waiting for the regionals and Keldeo to make an appearance and who knows how long that’ll be lmao
@@Turtle-Soup well pretty sure we had sinnoh tore this year and Gen 5 is after Gen 4 so if my math isn’t wrong witch there’s a 40 60 chance it is 😂 we’ll ever have victini in unava store or keldeo maybe both hopefully both
Both shiny legendary and mythical Pokemon have become loot boxes in Pokemon. The reason why all of them are shiny locked in gen 9 is so players have to pay to hunt them in raids in Pokemon Go. In fact, it is currently the only way to get Zacian, Zamazenta, Genesect, Melton, Melmetal, and the Galar birds with your trainer ID.
ive been stuck on jirachi for years. I cannot get more kecleon to save my life. Im stuck at 3
I have the special research for the shiny Jirachi on Pokemon go. I bought it and was so excited to get one of my favorite shiny pokemon… I haven’t even completed the first page 😅 and when I looked up to see what the other stuff was going to be I was shocked! I don’t play as religiously as I used to, which is just a me thing… But at the same time, these tasks are ridiculous and make me sad that it’s going to take me literally forever to even get my shiny Jirachi I paid for 😓 I get the “have to earn it”, but with this difficult of tasks? 😅 sigh.
Also! I didn’t learn about shiny Mew until MUCH later and I was devastated since Mew is my all time favorite 😂 but probably wouldn’t have gotten them that quickly, or possibly ever anyways 😅 cause holy shit.
I’m still stuck in the first page of the shiny shaymin research, however already having one from bdsp really drops the motivation to run through it. The Jirachi one was quite annoying, especially since I never really played with the buddy system so the 10 best buddy requirement was something I had to grind for which brought the progress to a commanding halt lmao
@@Turtle-Soup Yeeeah 😅 I don’t really use the buddy system and honestly what friends I do have just don’t really play anymore. Which is understandable. I might just have to accept the fact I bought it and might never actually get it but spiritually. It’s there, but not there lmao. Then the Shaymin event for bdsp, I got it but haven’t activated it. Which I should probably do 😂
I finde it funny how Phione is the easiest But Still time consuming egg haching is Slow even with Flame body and Unless you are really lucky iz will take a Long time 😅
it sucks that they wont just give us what we want. i dont even see how it benefits them keeping shiny mythicals locked for decades outside of pogo microtransactions. i feel like more people would have cared about or even bought the scarlet and violet DLC if meloetta and all the legendays werent locked
I genuinely believe the shiny Meloetta was released is because their going to release it in go next year.
@@christopherballero866 Yeah, but it is verifiable which is nice. Some even had non-optimal EV training from being used in his games.
@@terrafirma5327 being verifiable is nice but if you're not entering a competition what does it matter
As someone who has played through them all, I would like something for completing them
pogo never releases shiny pkmn that are not in the main games so dont worry about that
Pokémon Go hunts are legitimate hunts. The fact that raid passes are available to buy and cost so much is disappointing. But that doesn’t make the hunts in Pokémon Go not count. If someone doesn’t like them or rejects them, that’s fine. But don’t use “no true fan” argument fallacy for those hunts
Personally I like how Go handled shiny mythical, I like the fact that it’s very difficult, it makes it feel more rewarding
Great video, loved everything about it. But sometimes when you’re talking there’s some overly long pauses between sentences and it sounds a bit awkward. Not meaning to have just criticism. Hope the best for you ❤
Thanks for the criticism! When I first started editing, I found I put too little time between sentences so I’ve been continually working on making sure there’s more natural length pauses between them, and sometimes it seems I may accidentally leave some for too long
And thanks for the kind words!
@@Turtle-Soup of course! It didn’t make the video less enjoyable In any way
You're saying you don't like to work for shiny mythicals in Pokémon Go and then go on about really wanting to have to work for something like Meloettas shiny - make up your mind lol
For me it was the opposite, I was already level 40 in Go when I got the masterwork research for Mew and have not had a living dex collected in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but I worked for it and got it regardless. The way you're wording all this just comes across as shitting on Pokemon Go which you clearly only play to get shiny mythicals like that, cuz nobody that actually plays the game would complain about the research tasks (besides that dreaded kekleon task ofc)...
Also side note, no masterwork research ticket had it's price changed when it rereleased and there has been no second run of the shiny Jirachi as of now
I do agree that one should be able to shiny hunt them through other means as well, but it's mythicals, so of course they're not too easily, accessable ya silly goose
@@TheRedSmartyMakes sense it requires every Pokemon at the time. That was literally the point of it being the Pokeball color
I get the feeling it didn't keep track of this stuff before the update they added it.
they're ugly lmao
"Oh no, Niantic only allows Shiny Mythical Pokemon if you buy a ticket a do a long research task!" 🙄😒 That's your complaint?! Seriously?! First of all, it's not expensive, 2 all the players doesn't care about mythical Pokémon lately because they're just handled to you in the last games, you can't use them in competitive and you don't get anything interesting from them either. You complaint about shiny mythicals being behind a paywall in Pokemon Go while Pecharunt you have to pay more than 100$ because you need both DLCs to get that Pokémon and it's not even SHINY?! Are you serious?! If 10$ too much but not +100$ for a buggy mess of a game that you won't use anymore because next gen is on the corner?! And you won't have to do anything in the future because they didn't make that game to last more than just complete the story and maybe shiny hunt 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦
